Storage District with Cargo Train Terminal

Same as with Unique Factories: Is there any chance some version of this could be brought over to Cities Skylines 2? This was a really nice, tight, efficient road layout to help centralize cargo activity and it would be nice to have that again in the new game. 🌝

can you try to redo it without network extensions? Mod has been bad by many map makers and they are going away from it. I loved your original and would love to use this one, i just wont use network extension 2

Hello creator this mod is not working and when i launch my game it shows up as a broken asset, or "file not found"

Updated.
Made the entrance to the district and utility area simpler and easier to access.
Added new paths from the train terminal to warehouses - vehicles no longer need to go all around to reenter the district to access the warehouses closer to the train terminal.
Exit paths from warehouses are now much shorter
Utility area can be extended as much as you want if necessary,

Mass Transit DLC no longer required

awesome, thanks for the fix btw, working perfectly as normal, although ive made adjustments to mine due to fire and service response times being poop at times but also found that one of those areas can be used for service buildings instead of down the bottom, and then i made a small road just for emergency access across both sides allowing maximum coverage :) ill post a link for a screenshot of what ive done to it and how ive used it its awesome boasts 90% traffic most of the time

mrkebab, make the area the warehouse in generic, so they can produce and import/export all goods, eitherwise you are limiting yourself and creating uneccessary traffic, but if you have them split up for that reason of breaking down traffic, then have the warehouse in the areas that produce those materials, like the refinery have that next to the oil district or even in it, and theres an oil district layout thats perfect for it all oil trucks just run around in circles, keeping away from the rest of the city

Should i add these warehouses to industrial distric if i should which one? My warehouses are not filling until i paint them as part of another industrial district but problem is i have several districts so how can i use all industries use warehouses at the same time ps: i set resources for them, diffrent each other i know how to use warehouses, its kinda war away from industries, distance may cause them not transfering goods?

awesome, hopefully my machine will load it up, not been able to play for a while due to ram issues, i get to just about 100k population and my machine just gives up the ghost and tells me to do one and kicks me out the game, seriously i think my pc has attitude problems, adhd or something

hopefully this is the one,, i added this to the end of the district, mainly cos the train caused a huge build up of truck traffic being my only connection in and out of city, but once that was on there, traffic was totally manageable

once id finished with this district and added the twin cargo train station on the end with its own traffic queue system, traffic was not an issue,, busy and heaving almost 24/7 but not a problem

i can describe exactly where it is,, its in the 3rd picture (2nd one of close ups), next to the warehouse on the far left, theres an elevated road with a fork in it, in between the fork theres a slope with a van on it, its that slope!, it renders a pillar there and the road just snaps to the floor, and at the entrance on bottom floor theres a few pillars in the middle of the road, no problems caused by them just un-sightly,,, but the slope and disappearing bit of road can cause major issue if i dont remember to fix it straight away,, and steam needs to be able to allow screenshots to be shared through chat, cos i just took a pic and marked it, but it wont let me share it to you, cant even send it through chat,, that sucks

so ya found that little bit of road i was on about?, awesome, like i said wasnt a major issue, just a pain having to redo that one section of road anytime i placed it down, sometimes id forget and wonder why traffic is either building up or just not making any deliveries cos they were hitting that section of road and disappearing

I tried that a little bit but sometimes when loading the asset some weird bugs occurred; parts of the road were “pushed down” to the ground, like directly, 90 degrees. So i opted for a safer approach.

@drmacke fine road anarchy 2 and the move it mod, the move it mod allows to literally move everything closer together and remove the pillars needed to make such assets possible, as the pillars take up a lot of room underneath the road so you cant build as close as youd like, just be careful with the clipping that can occur, sometimes roads can overlap themselves making cars disappear then reappear, or sections where the road is elevated one section and the next its flat to the floor

@drmacke You need a tool like Fine Road Anarchy 2, which has an option in the asset editor to disable the "Editor Grid" doing so allows you to draw outside the "borders" of any asset type that has placeable content, like intersections.

I have deactivated all my mods except Network Extension 2, dynamic resolution, unlimited money and unlock all. Then tested my assets in game. All of them work. I also updated this one and unique factories district and replaced the national road section

it used to work fine depend ing on the level of terrain as one road seemed to be bugged if not placed on flat ground, but ive noticed its stopped working for me also, could be due to onw of the dlc i have that i didnt before

only one problem ive found with this layout,, it works fine but can generate a lot of traffic where the train station is concerned, my advice would be use the cargo pad intersection ive seen on here where you have your train station ;) works perfect
