@Flying Fox Very interesting mod I would like to see it in Total War: Warhammer 3
Le druide 24 Sep, 2022 @ 4:59am
Thx you for this great mod ! A little suggestion for your "future plans" : Dont do it. ^^ This will cause too many compatibility issues. The more accurate/specific/compatible a mod is, the better.
Flying Fox  [author] 26 Jul, 2021 @ 10:53am
Updated to work with the herdstones.
Flying Fox  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 11:40am
Currently not playing with this mod, so I don't know if it's compatible with the upgrade. As far as I know everything should work as always, but I will check later. My effects wont be there for the herdstone buildings, but I think that's for the best.

Hey, thanks for the great work. I have a small problem however, I use https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2333671842
due to needing to remove the stupid PO balancing act CA introduced in the patch prior to Rakarth, but it also modifies LOS. I doubt your mod and that one are compatible and I'd really like to use both.
Flying Fox  [author] 23 Jun, 2021 @ 3:21am
Quick little update. I tried a new method to determine all the main settlement buildings. It turned out that I missed the Oak of Ages, so that will now also gain LOS buffs. I also found I had put LOS buffs on a building I didn't intend to, so removed that. Also removed some buffs on buildings that no longer exist in the game.
Flying Fox  [author] 22 Jun, 2021 @ 12:13pm
Updated. Should work for whatever new main settlement buildings have been added in the meanwhile. But I counted 2337 of them, so I'll need your help to fand any bugs or unintended behaviour. So if you see anything that doesn't seem right, let me know.

I've also removed the reduction in LOS from very low public order. Don't think that adds much to the game.

No internal compatibility for now with the mods striked through in the description. That takes additional work, that I might not do. If you want to make a patch yourself, let me know so we're not both doing the work.

Would love to see this get an update to include stuff that's new to this patch, this mod rules.
Shatilov 25 Jan, 2021 @ 2:32am
This needs an update, without it the LoS system is pretty much meh.
Deschain 20 Jan, 2021 @ 12:27pm
With this mod activated I dont get the new bonuses of public order that CA implemented.
Flying Fox  [author] 7 Dec, 2020 @ 1:31pm
It probably isn't broken. But it definitely won't affect any new unique main settlement buildings.
Deschain 7 Dec, 2020 @ 11:12am
Does this work in this patch?
Flying Fox  [author] 20 Aug, 2020 @ 11:41pm
Could be a change in SFO. Haven't checked in a while.
I'll look into it, but if nothing changes within a few days just remind me.
benettonkkb 20 Aug, 2020 @ 7:09pm
I'm noticing that this isn't working at the moment, did something change or is it me? Running SFO
Deschain 28 Jun, 2020 @ 6:36am
Thank you!
Flying Fox  [author] 28 Jun, 2020 @ 6:29am
I've had a look at the tables, and it should be compatible.
Deschain 28 Jun, 2020 @ 5:49am
Is this compatible with the new SFO update?
Flying Fox  [author] 13 Jun, 2020 @ 5:29am
Ambushing is complex. You can get spotted by any nearby army, but even if you don't get spotted in that stage, the ambush itself can still fail.

I'm planning to look into that whole mess in the future.
NicotineDealer 13 Jun, 2020 @ 5:20am
Ok thanks. Yeah had a streak of failed ambushes after installing this mod, probably a combination of RNG and increased hero LOS (iirc heroes have an increased chance to detect hidden armies, might not actually be a fact though).

I'm also not sure how ambush defense actually works, for some reason I always assumed it was a modifier to the chance of being ambushed when you enter an ambushing army's influence range (also modifies the stalk stance ambush chance). But, anecdotally, lords with a higher ambush defense also seem to better detect hidden armies at range - noticeably with AI lords.

As you mentioned, LOS must be a factor in detection - after all you can't see non-hidden armies beyond your LOS. And of course there's the "chance to detect hidden armies" stat, but I think that was only in TW:W1 (renamed?).
Flying Fox  [author] 13 Jun, 2020 @ 2:16am
That's a good question actually...
I suspect that they increase the range at which you can detect armies, but not the chance. I think you can normally detect any army within visible range.
NicotineDealer 13 Jun, 2020 @ 2:11am
Do LOS modifiers affect detecting hidden (e.g. ambushing) armies?
Flying Fox  [author] 1 Jun, 2020 @ 11:12am
Quickly updated the compatibility section of the description.
28 Woo 28 May, 2020 @ 8:27am
@Flying Fox Wow, thank you for the quick reply! anyway thanks again! This mod is a must mod for me :steamhappy:
Flying Fox  [author] 28 May, 2020 @ 8:25am
They do entirely different things, so yes.
28 Woo 28 May, 2020 @ 8:19am
Hi, just to clarify is this mod compatible with this one? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2044694734 :pumpkinsam:
TheFawz 26 May, 2020 @ 4:35am
Perfect thank you, will try it out :)
Flying Fox  [author] 26 May, 2020 @ 1:01am
Yes
TheFawz 25 May, 2020 @ 5:37pm
Does this LOS change also apply to the AI?
Flying Fox  [author] 24 May, 2020 @ 12:28pm
It's basically the same thing in single player with allies. You only see a small circle around their settlements.
There might be other mods for that, like "regional visibility" or something. It requires changes to scripts.
Sin 24 May, 2020 @ 12:16pm
Hey tried this mod in coop today. Works decently, the LoS changes for each player but does not effect the way you see your partners land. Nevertheless I enjoy it quite much thanks for the mod.^^
Guts 24 May, 2020 @ 2:18am
CA ought to have a look at this one.
2Scribble 23 May, 2020 @ 10:41pm
I had not clue this was even a thing - I mean the fact that public order was what made my view so scrunched up... though it DOES explain why I'd be, practically, blind half the time on harder difficulties :P
Sin 23 May, 2020 @ 3:58pm
Anyone tried the mod for Multiplayer yet? I really dislike the vanilla approach and would be really happy to find a mod that works for Multiplayer >.<
Flying Fox  [author] 21 May, 2020 @ 1:55pm
Updated to affect the new buildings from the patch. It doesn't seem other changes are needed, but let me know if you find issues.

@Nightwing
I have no idea what looking into multiplayer would entail. I have no idea if it works in multiplayer, or why it wouldn't work.
Nox 12 May, 2020 @ 5:31am
Would it be too much to ask for you to look into multiplayer campaign? I really love your take on LoS and since I only play Multiplayer H2H campaign this would be a huge thing, but only if it works as intended for both parties.
Flying Fox  [author] 5 May, 2020 @ 1:47am
It still increases line of sight, so I don't see why not.
Sky McFly 4 May, 2020 @ 4:36pm
Is astromancy stance for lizard men still worth it with this mod?
TdizzleGod 10 Apr, 2020 @ 1:43pm
is this mod samegame compatible
Flying Fox  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 6:32am
I don't have a clue about multiplayer, as I only play single player. No idea how such an issue could arise.
FreedomFighter 1 Mar, 2020 @ 5:43am
Seem to have an issue with multiplayer campaign. My mate always has her settlement in dark like it is getting siege. I was hosting the game so maybe it only affect the host? Not that game breaking for us since our outer settlement always have some lord around in so only the inner one that gone dark.
Flying Fox  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 2:47am
It's fully compatible with SFO, no reason to integrate it.
The Black Kaiser 1 Mar, 2020 @ 2:33am
SFO should integrate this
FreedomFighter 20 Feb, 2020 @ 10:57pm
Many thank. Have a nice weekend :smilekit:
Flying Fox  [author] 20 Feb, 2020 @ 10:52am
And boom, updated to be compatible!
Flying Fox  [author] 20 Feb, 2020 @ 10:44am
And thank you for reminding me. I had completely forgotten.
FreedomFighter 20 Feb, 2020 @ 10:05am
Thanks for taking it to consideration.
Flying Fox  [author] 19 Feb, 2020 @ 11:48am
That seems doable. I'll have a look at it tomorrow.
FreedomFighter 19 Feb, 2020 @ 11:42am
I take a quick peak and noticed that Tier 4 minor settlements don't have the LOS bonus in the description which to no surprise because Tier 4 minor settlements only possible with another mod. Is it possible to make add-on version for that mod?
