So like others have said, this freezes the game when you place it/move it/place anything near it. It's a pretty hefty hangtime, like enough that you're convinced your game is crashing. It's not. In fact, my (admittedly relatively high-end) PC doesn't really even seem to be registering a big spike in much of anything when I check task manager. It's just...freezing? If you wait it out, it should resolve itself, and it doesn't seem to be causing any issues once placed - I have it as part of a big tropical house, so it is surrounded by a high item count (in addition to its own high item count) and a lot of guests, and performance doesn't really seem to be suffering any more than anywhere else in my zoo.

(Like the author apparently also did) I theorized that it was the ropes climbable space being calculated that was causing the freeze...so I separated the hanging pods into their own group and disabled climbing for the pods' group.

Unfortunately, this made it worse somehow? The freeze time is probably about 3-5x longer now and checking traversable terrain in the heatmap is suuuuper laggy. I wanted to post this here to save anyone else the extremely tedious endeavor of separating all those ropes - although, while it does not help the performance issue, it does make the animal navigation a bit more realistic to watch? No scuffy rope climbing anymore. YMMV, I guess.

Ultimately, this item is absolutely gorgeous and I really love it. I think it's worthwhile but I figured I'd help others learn from my mistakes. I would recommend placing it in a smaller enclosure and keeping your surrounding items as minimal as possible, letting this frame be the star. I'd also recommend placing it as late in your build process as possible (maybe using some placeholder items to map out the space as you build around it). I use it in a dome for capuchins where this takes up most of the space, and it works great and looks phenomenal.

I use it in all my scenarios. Yes, it slows down the game a bit but once installed and the habitat finished, it is no longer a problem ! My orangutans love it too ! So beautiful :D

Hi revo-12, Thanks. I did not have this problem before, however the new update made ropes climbable. This is great, but not so great for this build. I fear that the pause is due to the time it takes for the AI to run and create a new route for the lemurs. This will probably happen every time you change something in the enclosure. Sorry about that. Hope it's not too terrible.

When I build it in the enclosure and when I add rocks , plants, etc. in the original plan, I've got a frozen screen for several seconds. Do you also this trouble?

Hi Verse Marine, if you haven't already figured it out due to my late reply, here's why it might be locked: If you are in any other mode than sandbox, and haven’t had a mechanic research any of the themes you’ll get the locked thing. I think I tried to stick to base theme and Africa. I’m pretty sure I didn’t use anything from the arctic expansion (if I did, I apologise). I also added no animal enrichment to avoid extra research.
