i just realized im using this one along side with quality colors, are these two mods compatiable?

This is great. I would love the same for art.

There are the mod options, but not a hotkey or anything. The rendering is done together with the weapon to not impact performance. The rendering doesn't refresh immediately, because the game refreshes the sprite only once every couple hundred ticks.
rarewhalerw 20 Mar, 2024 @ 7:24am
is there a key to toggle it on and off?

Haven't used this yet, but from the screenshots it seems like it's not an option yet: Would it be possible to make it so that the "show visual indicators" is enabled via a bound key? Sort of like diablo-like games do it, So the game doesnt have any visual clutter until you hold down a button to find out what piece of gear you want.

Yeah, not my kind of game. I got the original borderlands, cus it seemed fun, but no matter how many chances I gave it, it never made me want to keep playing it. I expected something closer to an actual RPG, like DE, but... ehh whatever... it's off topic...
Thanks for answering.
Carny Senpai  [author] 5 Aug, 2021 @ 4:56am
It is a "weird" choice if you don't know Borderlands xD But other than that there is nothing else behind it. In the settings you can adjust the size or remove it if you want.
I will add durability indicators to my to-do list. But i have alot of stuff to do on other mods first. Don't expect that anytime soon.
Reianor 4 Aug, 2021 @ 3:02pm
Is the colored bar actually a gage of some sort or is it merely there as a weird choice of an indicator?

Would it be possible to add a durability indicator underneath the name?
I really don't need the weird colored lines when I can have colored names, but seeing those gage-like things makes me want to have a visible horizontal durability bar under a colored name.

Now that I think about it, I'm almost sure I once had a mod that showed durability in item names... almost...

Updated to Rimworld 1.3 and added translation support and a german translation. If you want to make a translation for other languages, you can make a pull request on GitHub (link in the description).

Took some time to update, Rimworld 1.3 changed how rendering of static objects works and i had to rework the indicator graphic rendering. It should have a drastically improved perfomance even with thousands of weapons and apparel on the ground (in 1.3 only).

@Avokant I tested a bit and wasn't entirely able to stop the label rendering. I think it would be better to have such a function in mods like Camera+ as it makes more sense, given it has the same purpose.
Avokant 15 Jun, 2021 @ 2:29pm
For sure! I can see that being a very popular mod even as a standalone. For close up content it's rather annoying seeing "norm" or "poor" if your trying to make a rimworld cutscene with props.
Carny Senpai  [author] 15 Jun, 2021 @ 12:16am
I will see what i can do.
Avokant 14 Jun, 2021 @ 8:23pm
Yes. I cant seem to find any mods that add that function. It would be nice for screenshots!
Carny Senpai  [author] 13 Jun, 2021 @ 11:39pm
You mean like when you zoom out a bit?
Avokant 13 Jun, 2021 @ 8:20pm
Just out of curiosity. Is it possible to add a function to hide the quality label on items? Kinda of like when you hit F11 to hide the hud.

Okay, so I took out that mod from the save I was using, the colours changed for some of the items, but then I noticed some from the core files did not have the quality colours now, most likely due to removing the other mod in mid play. Will make a quick new map and test it on that.

Sarelth 12 Mar, 2021 @ 2:19am
I will track it down tomorrow and let you know which it was. I think I know, but super tired right now.
Carny Senpai  [author] 12 Mar, 2021 @ 12:33am
My guess is, that the mod that adds the (U) is the culprit. It changes the label of things and probably overwrites the color i add. Try to remove it and if that works, tell me what mod that is and i will try to fix that.
Sarelth 11 Mar, 2021 @ 11:11pm
I think it is from a mod that marks weapons you have looted.
Sarelth 11 Mar, 2021 @ 11:10pm
The weapons were from Vanilla Factions Expanded: Vikings and I am not actually sure what the (u) means.
Carny Senpai  [author] 11 Mar, 2021 @ 2:18pm
It shouldn't have any problems. What mod are these weapons from and what does the (U) mean?
Sarelth 11 Mar, 2021 @ 1:14pm
Does the item colour text have a problem with modded items. Only seeing colours on Vanilla gear in the trade window.

@Asmodian I haven't tested that.
Kyrox 11 Mar, 2021 @ 8:02am
Does this work with Infusion 2
Kaedys 10 Mar, 2021 @ 3:25pm
Awesome, much appreciated!
Carny Senpai  [author] 10 Mar, 2021 @ 1:35pm
I added the option to change colors for each quality.
Carny Senpai  [author] 10 Mar, 2021 @ 9:27am
Sure, i will see what i can do on the weekend.
egoanditspwn 10 Mar, 2021 @ 9:17am
would it be possible to have the indicators for only certain qualities? make important stuff stand out on the map when zoomed out without adding too much clutter
Kaedys 7 Mar, 2021 @ 11:32am
Much appreciated!
Carny Senpai  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 2:36am
Yes, i can put that in the mod options.
Kaedys 6 Mar, 2021 @ 8:20pm
Any chance there could be options added for setting the hex colors for each quality levels? Or maybe source them from an XML rather than embedding them in the dll so I can edit them? I'd personally rather use something more akin to WoW or D3's rarity color scheme, but I feel like it's probably a better ask to just have them generally customizeable rather than peeps constantly asking you for different theme options.
Carny Senpai  [author] 3 Feb, 2021 @ 3:03pm
The dependency error should be fixed now. The manifest file is obsolete now, i do the version control via Git anyways.
Karmapowered 8 Jan, 2021 @ 6:32am
More importantly, thank you for creating and sharing the mod with us.
Karmapowered 8 Jan, 2021 @ 6:29am
Hi, I've had a quick look into the "invalid package error" and here's what I've noticed.

According to Notepad++, your :
- "About.xml" seems to saved in "UTF8-BOM" format, which probably should be "UTF8" instead
- "Manifest.xml" seems to saved in "ANSI" format, which probably should be "UTF8" instead.

Comparing your file structure to Fluffy's own "ModManager", there seems to be an additional "LoadFolders.xml" file. I don't know if it's needed.
Comparing the content of your "Manifest.xml" to Fluffy's equivalent, the XML structures don't quite match.

After fixing the formats, removing the "LoadFolders.xml" file and changing the content of your "Manifest.xml" to closer match Fluffy's, I could get the mod to load without error in the mod manager. I haven't checked in-game.

Here are the files I came up with if you're interested : http://www.filedropper.com/about_1
I hope this helps.

From all i know it's an issues with the Mod Manager. Some mods get flagged falsely.
Zalpha 14 Sep, 2020 @ 4:54am
I did not have an issues with invalid package listed for me. I installed Fluffy's Mod Manager and now it is pointing out that it has an invalid package ID.
Carny Senpai  [author] 21 Aug, 2020 @ 2:15pm
Weird, i did copy&paste the package id. I will check again.
Burnout 21 Aug, 2020 @ 1:11pm
yep i'm getting the invalid package id too
Angrysquirrel 19 Aug, 2020 @ 4:03pm
I guess I'm part of the "me too" movement. Error - Depends on invalid package ID, which was not loaded. Cool mod dude.
SquarelyCircle 12 Jul, 2020 @ 7:06pm
Everything works fine otherwise.
SquarelyCircle 12 Jul, 2020 @ 7:06pm
This is giving me an error in the mod loader. It says that this requires a mod called "invalid.package.id", which I'm assuming means the mod it relies on (Harmony) is mistyped somewhere.
Oniwabanshu 29 May, 2020 @ 1:54pm
Thank you again for the mod btw :)
Oniwabanshu 29 May, 2020 @ 1:53pm
Could you add a minimum quality to show the indicator? I don't really care about shoddy stuff lying around xD
Carny Senpai  [author] 29 May, 2020 @ 4:11am
Small update: the 1.1 version does not require a restart of the game anymore when changing mod options
The Jawesome One 25 Mar, 2020 @ 2:43pm
Thanks for the info Carny, I'll let you know if anything further occurs
Carny Senpai  [author] 25 Mar, 2020 @ 2:36pm
The warning is harmless. It is a bug in Fluffy´s Mod Manager, that it doesn´t read the dependencies correctly. As long as you load Harmony before this mod, it will work without problems.
The Jawesome One 25 Mar, 2020 @ 2:25pm
I understand that I'm using a very large mod-list here. But when I moved this mod onto my modlist there is now a red exclamation mark.

Mousing over this exclamation mark there is a text that reads: Depends on invalidpackage.id. Which is not loaded.

If it helps at all I am using Mod Manager by Fluffy with a ton of other mods that add clothing and weapons, and a few mods that slightly alter how colonists use weapons and clothing (such as the armor racks mod, which allows colonists to equip a loadout of clothing quickly.)

I just tried moving the mod to the bottom of the modlist in case it needed some other unknown mod to be above it, this did not remove the warning icon and text.

I love the concept but I don't want to risk using this until I don't get that warning anymore. Thank you
