To clarify, my issue was starting a map without crashing. I am still unable to leave tribe state.

even building sargon's palace hasn't fixed the issue

every other civilization has chiefdom and i'm stuck on tribe despite having more population than all of them

Does anyone know of mods that allow the game to still run, but mess with this and cycles of power enough to make them not work quite right? I have a ton of mods installed and I'm not really sure which of them is causing this.

@JFD I just recently added the complete RTP collection, and everything worked great, except I stopped being able to establish any government, and there was no visible sovereignty. I disabled all my mods, and uninstalled my game, reinstalled it with just the Core Utilities and Sovereignty enabled, but it still doesn't work. I am a little bummed because I miss my Imperial Maritime Roman Empire.

@JFD I can correct the code but it would be much easier if I have some infos on what changed, if you want you can just send me a short summary of what changed and I should be able to write a workaround, anyway thanks for all the mods !

@JFD I tried installing the old Core version that you linked a few months ago, but Sovereignty didn't work either. Are you sure you linked the old (working) version of Core?

I'm afraid JFD is unable to update the Sovereignty mod anymore. It might be due to issues surrounding it, so thus, only Cycles of Power, Epithets, Prisoners of War, Great Relics, and Great Works of Film are currently supported.

I'm not sure if it's a problem with this mod specifically or a soft conflict with another one, but when I use this mod other civs get governments, but I'm never able to choose any kind of government and get a blank panel when I go into the government overview tab. Does this mod require your cycles of power mod to work properly or something?

yer. The recent update to RTP core necessitated some changes to the way caching (saving data) works, which meant all the RTP components that relied on it was made incompatible. I've been slowly, terribly slowly getting through the updates - Sov Ive been putting off because it requires a lot of other things to update. But imma just bite the bullet and do it now. Sorry to all the lads that been roodered by my procrastination!

When I start the game, the government overview is completely blank and I can't choose any policies. Is this normal? When should I expect the power to do reforms?

OK, I have installed this core patch and tried to use the Sovereignity mod with it. Now I can adopt social policies, but now I don't know, how to establish a government.

Itll be bugged by the latest update to the Core mod, which has since changed the method for caching/saving data. That will require a manual update to Sov to adapt to the new method, but not quite sure when I can get to that - not as speedy at updating as I once was.

Somewhat of a workaround is to use the old version of the Core mod - though this would mean not being able to use the latest updates for things like Epithets, Prisoners of War.

I'm also having the Government Overview problem. When I open a saved game, the window pops up and I can't close it to resume the game. If anyone had the problem and solved it, I would love to know what you did

I really think this mod has a lot of potential and that it's kind of sad that it was (AFAIK) abandoned. Would love to see some new work being done, e.g. new, more modern govenments with new bonusses/malusses for middle to late game. Also an update to sovereignty management would be nice. Still having a VERY hard time increasing it, e.g. having a garrison in 2/3 of cities would be an improvement for the peaceful player.

AE: I think it may be a mod conflict with one of JFD's other mods. I haven't seen it anymore since I removed some of his mods, but I'm pretty sure I experienced it earlier on

As soon as nations turn into Chiefdoms in my game, they somehow unlock every single social policy in the game. I figured this out by looking at how many points they had 30 turns in, and then I checked info addict and realized this. Im not sure what mod would cause this but if you have any ideas pls help.

Does this replace the vanilla epithets (e.g. "Augustus the Terrible" or "Consul Augustus")? And does it work well (i.e. not super buggy and at least a moderate amount of control given) with the In-Game Editor? Thanks.

Been playing a bit with this and it looks really great. Thing is I don't really understand how to manage my sovereignty, i.e. I need 30'ish sovereignty to be able to pass a reform but I only have 10 and as far as I can see I can only raise it by doing a rather limited number of things, e.g. having a garrison in ALL cities.

Any help?

when I adopted my ideology, it did the classic "adopt policy" freeze and I cannot exit out of it and click next turn even though I filled out the ideology tenents and have no policy left to choose. could this be related to this mod? Do you have recommendations so that I dont have to start my game over?

I might have found a bug. When I adopted chiefdom, the government change screen will appear by the next turn, and the portrait of the leader will be Washington no matter the civ. And I also cannot see my neighbor's governments.

Could another mod be causing this? I only have mods that add pantheons and 'Yield Overhaul' turned on.

Anyone know how to get this to work with Vox Populi EUI?

The mod loads and works but kills all other EUI icons, so I can't access any other buttons in the upper left corner.

Its due to this mod relying heavily on dummy policies. Apparently, exceeding a certain number of dummy policies (across any mods, its just Sov adds many all at once) will render scenarios unplayable due to a runtime error.

Out of pure curiosity, I've been trying to use this with maps I made with the entire map filled out with borders and cities (so it loads as a scenario) and it crashes every time. Is that just inherent that this mod does not like scenario type maps? The mod works fine if I start a blank map. Love it either way :)
