This map requires team cordination and soloing just isnt going to cut it. The last is hard but also can be capped by BLU. First year on halloween was hard, but 2nd year (last year) i saw the last being capped a lot more than not being capped. Also 1st and 2nd can be defended by RED, but there is also a learning curve. Sometimes theres just too many dead RED at the same time and BLU can easily take over both points in a single stage.

The map is small'ish, made in the spirit of dustbowl. There isnt many of 3-stage control point maps so I decided to made one. Thanks for the feedback.

Played the Halloween version of this, and hated it. I don't like being negative, but the choke points in this map are too narrow and tight, especially on the last stage. The final point in the final stage is HEAVILY red sided. A BLU push on that point is nigh impossible. Every time it was stage 3, I always groaned in dread.

First and second stages are too BLU sided, not enough cover and space for a good defense.

Hi

The map already has nav mesh, its just packed into the bsp itself. Perhaps thats why your game crashes.

Hello!
First off, I really like this map! Good job!

I ran into an issue where when I try to generate a navmesh for bots, only one or two of the sections get saved. After using the commands for sampling walk-able space I could only get the first two points.

I tried connecting them by generating them out of bounds, but that ended up crashing my game. Is there any way to generate a navmesh that contains all three points?

If there isn't, are you able to create a navmesh for the map?

Not trying to dismiss the other peoples work, because without them Gravestone wouldnt be as it is today. However just to get facts straight, 4/5 people who took part in Gravestone did only models, animations, particle effects and textures to it. Map design was solely by me. So dont use that as an argument against Erebus design, which was also done by me. The other person who took part in erebus, also did some models to it.

Now that being said, this map was tryly designed elevation in mind. It is not easy to learn out but just like dustbowl, you either like it or dont. I noticed people said Erebus was hard to defend for the first week of halloween and towards the end of it, it was really hard to cap even the first point at times.

I will consider your feedback as I make new maps. Constructive one is okay and i always like to read it, good or bad. Thanks!

That's fair, I guess you aren't a hater. It still ended up one of my favorite maps though. I make maps for classic Doom. I get that criticism is needed. I just want to defend what I think is a solid, fun map.

Also, I am not a hater. He made a lot of nice maps. Gravestone is my favorite Halloween map. It is okay to have some criticism to map design and a reason to improve. Because Gravestone was made by 5 people, but Erebus was made by one

The height variations make playing Engineer and Soldier a lot of fun. The map as a whole challenges me, in the same way that Dustbowl does. That's why I like it.

It is really hard to get around. Even if you get used to it. I will never understand the point of getting up, up, up and then down, down to get to an enemy base

Don't listen to the haters. This map is super fun, and definitely not hard to get around. I love Erebus, and I hope this gets added to the game!

Erebus is the worst map in the game. I do not know where I am supposed to go, this is so dizzy and unbalanced

If this is Erebus' non-halloween counterpart, then I don't think this map has any chance of being better than what we've seen in this year's update.

Much thanks to everyone who voted this map. After Valve changed how steam looks, the workshop doesnt get as much as attention as it used to. So unless you remake an official valve map like 2fort, hightower or similar, its not sadly going to get noticed by people as the meme stuff maps are linked and shared by people way more than these normal ones.

Anyway, it was fun making this. Now that it has been out for some time and i've been collecting feedback, theres not much i would change on this. Maybe give that one rooftop at the last CP and edge so it doesnt look as dull as it looks now.

I dont know why it wouldnt be working. Did you tried to create one yourself? Because you shouldnt do that. Nav is packed within the bsp file already. If you create one, it fails to work.

Oh I forgot to tell you that nav_mesh doesn't seem to work on this map, so I playtested it with a few friends and it seems to play just fine.

Ok new update out. Release Candidate 1 which means we are getting close to wrapping the work on my part up and moving on to fine tuning and improving it if needed, based on feedback.

For clarificatiion, yes the nav file exists and has been hand-tuned to make bots work better than a simple nav_generate alone would do.
