It may just be the sheer amount of engrams you have from mods. Blitzfire's AA smithicator used to have a similar issue when you had alot as it too would craft most everything and would exhibit the same behavior. Later he coded in a fail safe limit that would disable most everything in it if you hit the limit to a normal smithy.
That would defeat the whole point of the mod. You would have to cart all of the crafting stations in order to craft what this crafting station already does. Items that seem to be missing are in sub-folders.
I have found it useful as a repair-on-the-go solution as well as many other things. Remember, this mod isn't for immersion...it's for efficiency and those of us who hate crafting stations all over the place.
