@BladeVortex: LOL, you can turn off the crush depth system in the sub. Key is located behind the sliding hatch in the med bay, FYI.
ShopSnipe  [author] 12 Jun @ 6:47pm
Excellent, thank you!
Un-Stealthy Ninja 12 Jun @ 6:26pm
This is still my favourite sub, it just works.
Inverspe 9 Jun @ 6:32am
nicr
Polow21 6 Jun @ 12:45pm
finnely it works better
ShopSnipe  [author] 6 Jun @ 8:33am
@diddy: Thank you very much! On that note, I have updated the submarine. There have been about 150 plus changes made; major improvements to power and charging systems. With the compressed gasses update, the submarine has become very complex. Also, I am dropping an update to the mini submarine which will be much easier to control and use.
Elonovich Muskowinsky 22 May @ 11:31am
Still the most GOATed creator on here
ironswordX 15 Feb @ 11:00am
ah ok, was wondering why it happened.
ShopSnipe  [author] 3 Feb @ 3:06pm
@ironwordX: It's a faulty design. It was supposed to notify the user that the breakers in the engine room had tripped, but does not work as intended. Most likely will be removed in the next update.
ironswordX 2 Feb @ 11:34am
Am I the only one having an issue where the sub says there's an electrical failure when there is none
ShopSnipe  [author] 27 Dec, 2024 @ 6:17pm
I really haven't been in SW much, and got frustrated with changes breaking workshop items. I'll try and update it.
Not Allergic To Nuts 26 Dec, 2024 @ 9:47am
use to be my favorite vehicle, please update.
Butter Fliege 5 Nov, 2024 @ 11:15am
Please remake this submarine, its so good but so old.
SerpienteRecia 19 Jul, 2024 @ 5:01pm
I'm going to take a look at the vessel and if I like it I might hit you up for that voyage
Dr. Fluffy Kitty MD 20 Jun, 2024 @ 7:06pm
Anyone wanna group up and take this thing on a voyage?
Pretender6 19 Jun, 2024 @ 5:43pm
There should be a keypad on the Pilot Left hand, enter desired depth in positive numbers.

Then toggle Depth Hold which would 'push' the Submarine, even when stationary.

Also toggle Auto-Depth, which would 'nudge' the Submarine downward during travel.
chacebot01 18 Jun, 2024 @ 5:10pm
how do you use the depth hold
Pretender6 23 Feb, 2024 @ 8:38am
There should be a button label "Retract Snorkel' at the 'Operation Officer', right hand side of the Captain's chair
Butter Fliege 23 Feb, 2024 @ 3:47am
How do i lower that radar camera thingy ontop of the ship so i can dock with something
Pretender6 17 Nov, 2023 @ 6:11pm
#0 Toggle "Fill Ballast", rightside operator from Pilot
#1 Set desired Depth with Keypad
#2 Toggle "Requested Depth Hold", this would forcefully 'hover' in place
#3 Optionally use "Auto Depth (Transiting)"during 'flight'

If Submarine still remain topside, try remove & replace the electric hatch in the Editor, below the bridge itself, I had noticed drastical increase within my own version
MRHIStory_111 17 Nov, 2023 @ 2:19pm
i cant seem to dive underwater can anybody help me with that and how i would do it
ShopSnipe  [author] 15 Nov, 2023 @ 5:16pm
@Katyusha: Thank you! I think it's great that people can create and share workshop builds, no compensation necessary! The feed back is much appreciated!
Elonovich Muskowinsky 10 Nov, 2023 @ 1:33pm
Obviously you aren't getting any compensation for making these subs but I just wanna say they were the coolest (still are imo) creations I used back in the day. I always check back to see if there are any updates, but thanks for making em in the first place. You are very talented!
The Nameless 12 Oct, 2023 @ 5:46pm
It worked perfectly *yesterday*. Stupid DLC.
ShopSnipe  [author] 12 Oct, 2023 @ 5:22pm
@Pretender6: Not sure, but my guess is the physics has changed somehow. Block buoyancy maybe? We asked for sailing and fishing. We got drilling and space? I give up.

@dominicbrooks67: Thanks for the comment! I can tell you this, the Phorcys worked perfectly three years ago. I've made several updates since then. I am sorry you are having to deal with these issues, but I am no longer updating this sub. Mini sub (SCYLLA) in description.
Pretender6 12 Oct, 2023 @ 11:51am
Any idea why the front gets heavy in the new update?
M0iSTtoA5T45 6 Oct, 2023 @ 10:19am
hey this is a great build but there are some massive flaws in it like:overheating(most common for some reason, and water in random parts of the submarine. Also where is the "mini sub" you can charge...
The Nameless 10 Aug, 2023 @ 1:10pm
Well, it's not exactly stable at that speed. In fact, at some point the 'transiting' auto-depth button got deleted. But it wasn't working anyway; not sure how well it worked to start with, but it could not keep up with any changes to the balance of the hull. To hold my depth I had to set the dive planes to 'sticky', and then I have to set a careful balance and leave it at a steady speed.

Nothing will keep it steady over about 22 knots though. If I go full speed underwater, I can only keep it down for so long before I hit the floor or launch it to the moon. :P So I mostly only play speedboat on the surface. But up there, it's a really good, stable speedboat.
ShopSnipe  [author] 10 Aug, 2023 @ 12:36pm
@ The Nameless: 108 knots?! LOL, sounds like a good time to me!
The Nameless 10 Aug, 2023 @ 4:15am
This has become my favorite submarine! I'm afraid I butchered your design a bit though. Quantum (glitch) power generators, electric motors, a full GPS map... On the bright side, I found a new procedure to save my ship when I'm towing something and it sinks (because I boarded it and opened all the hatches): accelerate to full throttle. The Phorcys, now capable of reaching 70 knots (108 submerged) will instantly yank the mag-all loose.
Jim the Pilot 28 Jul, 2023 @ 7:27pm
its cool but the submergence is having problems
ShopSnipe  [author] 6 Jul, 2023 @ 12:28pm
@NoisyMachine_: I don't think you are the only one having this issue. Seems to be a problem for other players with different creations. Maybe because of a patch? Try checking the "Discussions" board.
NoisyMachine_ 29 Jun, 2023 @ 11:17pm
it randomly despawns when i spawn it or when im using it
any solutions?
ShopSnipe  [author] 22 Jun, 2023 @ 3:50pm
@Sharp777: Thank you for your kind comment!
Sharp777 22 Jun, 2023 @ 12:32pm
Great Vessel, really enjoying learning the systems. Thank you for this creation!!
TheUnfunnyMan 13 Apr, 2023 @ 10:53am
Just checked, I just had to turn on the generator. Prolly should've guessed.
Pretender6 13 Apr, 2023 @ 10:42am
I believe its let the diesel engine running
TheUnfunnyMan 13 Apr, 2023 @ 8:30am
How do I charge the propulsion battery?
Pretender6 21 Oct, 2022 @ 5:03pm
Sewage is any type of liquid thats collected through its respective drains, which is stored inside a solid block liquid container, which can be discharge into the ocean from the Bridge
Pretender6 21 Oct, 2022 @ 5:02pm
In the aft / aux section, there are controls for pumping fresh water around,
This fresh water is finite and can only be resupplied through external connectors.

Whilest there is a pump that slowly fills the 'fresh watertank', this is in fact Sea water,
Previously, there was no difference between 'fresh' and 'sea water', so this was done trough RP

Additonally the green Oxygen generator is also non-functional roleplaying feature
PyroPixel 21 Oct, 2022 @ 1:54pm
how does the freshwater and sewage system work? im not getting any water
ShopSnipe  [author] 12 Oct, 2022 @ 11:32am
@KenneGlitch: Ok, I just did a full power trial with no overheat issues. Here are the parameters... Weather: mid day, flat calm, south islands. Power plant position: Both engines/full throttle/"Dual PWR Mode. Parameters observed: Coolant pressure - 30-40 / RPMs - 820 (both engs) / Eng Temp - 42 (both) / Fuel pressure - 7.5 ish / Speed - 21 kts. When I turn the heater on, engine temps went up to 55 each. Hope this helps.
ShopSnipe  [author] 12 Oct, 2022 @ 11:12am
@KenneGlitch: Hmm, I'm not aware of any overheating issues. Are you getting an overheat alarm, or are the engines actually overheating and catching fire? In the last update I did, I changed the overheat alarms so make sure you are using latest update.
KenneGlitch 9 Oct, 2022 @ 8:52am
hello! it seems to have a severe overheating problem when i try to runn the engines. pls fix?
Skyknight 18 Sep, 2022 @ 8:58pm
@1ShopSnipe. Thanks for the help. It is odd that no one else had the problem
ShopSnipe  [author] 12 Sep, 2022 @ 6:36pm
@Skynight: So this is strange because I have not had this issue and you are the first to mention it. However, I see why you are flooding after diving with air pumps running. There is a fluid vent on the air intake system right before it goes into the engines. I put this there because I was experimenting with Stormworks physics; tying to see if the engine would breath air from engine room if the snorkel intake was cover by a wave for a brief period. I never deleted it and never had an issue with water coming in after diving. I recommend deleting the fluid/air vent from the system. It sits directly on top near the back of the engines. It should have no effect on your performance. Unfortunately Stormworks physics is far from perfect, so experimentation is necessary. Hope this solves your issue with having to turn the pumps off in the engine room.
Skyknight 11 Sep, 2022 @ 6:09pm
@1ShopSnipe: so I figured out how to stop it. the air intake pumps must be turned off before diving. even if the engines are off but the pumps are on it will flood. the pumps must be turned off from the engine room
ShopSnipe  [author] 6 Sep, 2022 @ 5:54pm
@Skyknight: Is the deck hatch in the engine room closed? This connects directly to the ballast area. Also, if you have made any modifications to the sub, make sure they don't conflict with the integrity of the hull or associated bulkheads. I only say this, because it seems to be an isolated issue with your sub. If you have made modifications, try using the sub in vanilla form and see if it still happens. If it does, an update may have changed something, I'm just not seeing.
Skyknight 5 Sep, 2022 @ 1:00pm
also it seems to spread to the rest of the ship eventually? but i definitely originates in the engine room
