Good call Seillimons, thanks for the heads up mate! A fix is on the way, I'm having trouble to update it though, Steam creates a new mod instead.

This mod also removes the sound for building the tracks. If you delete the "res" folder, the horns are still silent and the sound for the track construction is back.

I agree with Kuba - would be great to have a mod that allows the whistles and horns to sound more frequently!

KubaKorea, could guide me toward some reference about the regulation on using the horns, bells, and whistles?
It may be possible to write some code to have such behaviors ingame.
I mean it is possible, the limitation here is my own ignorance and each suggestion is an opportunity for me to learn.

I'm fine with the default game not having horns, but as an American, I'm totally used to trains constantly sounding their horns and bells. A mod where the hornsounds are brought back would be nice. Trains are too quiet in the default game :3

The sound could be played each time the train leaves its platform, I think, as the passenger train's sound does.

This is why we can't have horns/whistles. They made it so the horn/whistle only sounds 1 time after purchase from the depot. Why? Because people were bitching about it.

I think they should have just made a mod like this rather than make everyone that wants it to stay to suffer. Majority want them.

@coffeecat: It's for people that don't want the horn... period. You see the point now? Besides, it also sounds when a train turns around at the end of a line.

The horn is only sounded once when the train leaves the depot, because the horn feature is already broken I don't see a point in this...
