it's quite obvious why you need thruster dmg off; the main upwards thrust (not the vtol thrusters) have a large and a small hydrogen thruster in eachother
JakeFrmStatefarm 11 Jan, 2022 @ 1:35pm
are the Rovers on the Workshop? if so, can someone tell me what it is
JakeFrmStatefarm 11 Jan, 2022 @ 1:34pm
pretty sure you have to turn thruster damage off so that this thing doesn't turn into space shuttle Columbia
CPRL8423 15 Jun, 2020 @ 4:51pm
Wowwwww :steamhappy:

@Mi St Er BE3

It's literally in the description:

"inspired by the Avatar Shuttle and current NASA projects"
Mi St Er BE3 10 Apr, 2020 @ 1:04pm
reminds me of one of the ships in avatar
LightningwingDragon 13 Mar, 2020 @ 8:51am
Although you claim it to be vanilla, you should also mention that thruster damage needs to be turned off. cause all the thrusters keep catching on fire
Osker 12 Mar, 2020 @ 10:47am
I feel the same
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 12 Mar, 2020 @ 8:55am
@Cougarbait thank you for the comment, I have absolutely nothing against other users using or converting or improving my ships, on the contrary I think it's good when others see my ships as inspiration also to build something
Osker 9 Mar, 2020 @ 4:39pm
I like this ship, I's beautiful, and your response to the rebuild by UNITGX48 made me an instant fan. Thumbs up and keep up the great work.
UNITGX48 8 Mar, 2020 @ 9:44pm
I finished the bootleg survival compatible version.

I think I still like your interior more though. I wish they would use the detail plates from the decorative blocks and make extra versions of the interior blocks with them. The way you used the shop / decorative blocks gives the interior a lot of clean detail that can't really be achieved without sacrificing weight or adding unnecessary polygons.
DANGERN0000DLE 8 Mar, 2020 @ 7:46am
it would be cool if you could merge the xr-20 shuttle to the top like they do irl with space shuttles
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 8 Mar, 2020 @ 6:56am
ok that's strange! the drives are activated via a script, please see if this script is active in the cockpit (one of the programmable blocks)
RandomGuy0400 8 Mar, 2020 @ 6:01am
Do they have separate hydrogen tanks or something
RandomGuy0400 8 Mar, 2020 @ 6:00am
Umm, I couldn't get it to take off, the wing thrusters wouldn't activate
Somberprofile ඞ 7 Mar, 2020 @ 9:07pm
I absolutely love this build, nice work man!!:selike:
Pinharp14 7 Mar, 2020 @ 8:49am
For the wings is there no way to put a merge block to connect them and then you can disconnect them after building?
Heavy Weapons Guy 7 Mar, 2020 @ 8:42am
"Your ship ain't nothin', Tom. But this, this is a ship."
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 7 Mar, 2020 @ 8:00am
yes, the problem is that rotor parts are counted as a separate grid, so the projector cannot display them
FarQue 7 Mar, 2020 @ 5:18am
hi there love the ship one question when i put it into a projector it doesnt show the wing thrusters am i doing something wrong?
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 7 Mar, 2020 @ 3:37am
when the engines are turned they start automatically, the engines should only be turned back when you are out of most gravity !!!
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 7 Mar, 2020 @ 3:32am
they have to turn the engines! unfortunately the weight of the ship is too big to start with the internal thrusters.

the engines are turned in cockpit slot number 1 (timeshift)
Indy113 7 Mar, 2020 @ 3:21am
just to clarify this cant take off from mars unless im doing something wrong otherwise awesome build
UNITGX48 6 Mar, 2020 @ 9:50pm
If you want to see the end result it might be easier for me to upload it once I get it finished, if your fine with that.

The finished version is going to be used to transport 20 troll cargo containers 14,000km to our other ally who will place them strategically around our enemy's base in annoying locations trying to clip their miners. Also probably high altitude bombing runs with parachute gatlings, sound blocks, maybe orbital drone deployments. Its gonna see some action.
akaalexandermax 6 Mar, 2020 @ 4:57pm
amazing !!
Avity_ 6 Mar, 2020 @ 1:52pm
Please how the vertical engines works? i mean the rotating engines?
Archer 6 Mar, 2020 @ 12:18pm
Did you take inspiration from Avatar?
Knapp 6 Mar, 2020 @ 8:40am
Nice.
NASA, get on this!
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 6 Mar, 2020 @ 7:47am
I think it's great that someone is thinking again about converting it for the survival, I always build my ships in the creative and look more at the optics.

unfortunately, many design ideas are incompatible with functionality. some blocks simply take up too much space (conveyor to big etc.)

but I'm really looking forward to your finished result good work :steamhappy:
UNITGX48 6 Mar, 2020 @ 7:00am
I absolutely love this thing but my only problem with it is the inability to use it in survival with thruster damage enabled. So ive actually spent like 3 days scratch building a bootleg version that cuts back on mass at every possible corner, has 4 internal thruster bays, jump drives, cargo containers, fully conveyored, and cuts back on a lot of decor blocks just to reduce poly counts.

I'm actually just about finished
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 6 Mar, 2020 @ 3:44am
Hi there

look at the back of the ship there is a console, here you can activate the gears integrated in the floor, then the rovers are locked and no longer move! but this only works on the lower level!

in the upper level I tried small gears but the vehicles have too much ground distance, so the gears are not activated!
CreyF1sh 5 Mar, 2020 @ 11:10pm
Could you possibly update it to have artificial gravity and landing gear on the top rack?
When decelerating from upwards thrust, all the rovers retain their current momentum and hit the roof and get all wacky.
Overall, its an amazingly designed ship. well done!
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 5 Mar, 2020 @ 12:33pm
@coreypatton144

yes this is the disco material, perfect for heat shields, the Hull is made of white carbon
notnewbutyork 5 Mar, 2020 @ 11:59am
clever!
CaffeneProblems 5 Mar, 2020 @ 10:35am
Did you use the Disco material? It looks very close to how the bottom of space shuttles look like.
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 5 Mar, 2020 @ 9:41am
@blitzstarwarsman

The PCU are now in the description ;)
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 5 Mar, 2020 @ 8:57am
Hello everyone

thanks for all the feedback. it is nice to know that so many people appreciate my work thanks to everyone :D
akaalexandermax 5 Mar, 2020 @ 8:04am
I love the interior. And all the work done with shaping is beautiful.
Mr_Saturn 5 Mar, 2020 @ 5:24am
beautiful
Chaos_02 5 Mar, 2020 @ 5:20am
nice rebuild of the planetary shuttle in avatar ^^
blitzstarwarsman 4 Mar, 2020 @ 9:59pm
That's awesome what's the pcu (I can't check my computer is broke currently)
OctoBooze 4 Mar, 2020 @ 1:47am
Very reminiscent of the shuttles in Avatar. Liked the design back then
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 3 Mar, 2020 @ 12:16pm
@ fluffybobcat24

Thank you for your comment, I am currently working on an even larger exploration ship, have found a solution to ignore the block limits and the physical shapes XD.

I'm already looking forward to the release and I hope that you like this ship as well.

thanks to all for the positive comments this inspires me to continue building ;)
User5876 3 Mar, 2020 @ 10:38am
@Grand_Vitesse Wow. The subtle skill showed throughout this shuttle is just amazing. From the Small Ship-on-Large Ship parts for the vertical thrusters and even the "Colombia" naming, to the ingenious use of alternative vanilla textures for the blocks, this is just amazing. I couldn't believe this was a ship made of cubes in SE for several minutes; I had to check twice!

Amazing job.:steamhappy:
Grand_Vitesse  [author] 3 Mar, 2020 @ 7:53am
Hi there

yes I took the shuttle from Avatar as a template :) but I also created a lot of things myself. I am happy that you like the ship so much!
xXMrPenguinXx 3 Mar, 2020 @ 6:00am
The cargo door is amazing
Teksorbkyva 2 Mar, 2020 @ 6:45pm
Also the one in Avatar? Looks amazing~
User5876 2 Mar, 2020 @ 5:12pm
Wow. The artistic and engineering thought and design skill that went into this beautiful piece of machinery is just stunning. Wow! This is now my favorite model in SE, bar none!:steamhappy:
RealWilliamG 2 Mar, 2020 @ 4:38pm
Purge the Navi
Carménère 2 Mar, 2020 @ 3:52pm
Yes i had them down however for some reason unless i was moving in excess of 200M/S they did not activate at all
