One of those puzzles that makes you go "God, I'm an idiot sometimes". XD

@ElMuffin5 Thanks a lot for the high praise! I'm happy to hear you liked it so much :cozycrashfish:

I liked so much this one, especially the ending part where you have to figure out how to connect the laser and its reciever with the cube behind the fizzler

@Mikeastro but if I turn around, I can directly see my two portals. If those are the same portals then there is some "virtual plane" (supposedly, the last door that leads to the stairs) the at the end of the level that acts itself like a big permanent portal..? o_O
I thought it was some kind of Easter egg. Anyway: great puzzle, thank you.
Mikeastro  [author] 20 Sep, 2024 @ 6:51am
@UNDEFEAT After you go through the exit door, you teleport to the elevator area which is actually not in the map where you would expect it to be. Those two creepy portals are just your own two portals from the puzzle that you placed there yourself, but now you view them from far away!
UNDEFEAT 20 Sep, 2024 @ 5:58am
What's the intent of those two creepy portals in the void at the end of the level? :)

it was very great it didn't took me that long to do, maybe like 15 to 30 mins.

Glad everyone continues to enjoy this one :cozycrashfish:

Cool puzzle! It took me a bit to figure out the final move. My solution ended up activating the cube dropper twice, the far laser receptacle thrice, and the near laser receptacle *four* times.

There were no trapping possibilities that I could find, and like many others, I enjoyed the music!

Also, nice world portal: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/sillymel/screenshot/2485498134931201161/

It's amazing, how many steps are needed considering the layout!

After reading your guide, I finally figured out how to solve this puzzle. It's a brilliant puzzle-solving approach. I wonder if any of you experts are interested in trying out the puzzle I created?( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3003645461)

Excellent puzzle!!
Muzozavr 18 Oct, 2020 @ 11:47am
@Mikeastro I must've gotten really unlucky because even with quicksaving near the cube, I had to do it like five times before it finally worked... LOL. If I backtracked each time, that'd be worse. It's good the game allows quicksaves in custom maps. :)
Mikeastro  [author] 18 Oct, 2020 @ 11:27am
@Muzozavr Thanks for playing two more maps in the series! I see where you're coming from with the portal magnet - it might have been better to not have it there. Though, personally, I think you are overstating the possible inconvenience caused by it. Within less than 20 seconds you can walk back to the cube aim it proper and redo the move - could be worse, imo.
Oh and by the way, you are right that the ending of the previous map includes that disappointing move - that's why it's my least favourite entry of the series. Still, I'm happy to hear what you liked both of these maps overall
Muzozavr 18 Oct, 2020 @ 10:56am
So few elements, so surprisingly many steps... Very clever puzzle that uses nearly all there is to know about lasers and laser cubes.

BUT: that second-to-last portal shot. Oh my god. No. Worst use of a portal placement helper I've ever seen. I understand it'd be tricky to line up other shots without it, but with it, that portal position can't be adjusted, ever. It's VERY easy to misalign the cube thinking you've done it perfectly, only to make the shot and realize it's not aligned... and due to the placement helper, it's quickload time since you can't adjust the angle on the other side, only on the cube side.

Definite thumbs up for how cool the puzzle is, but man, it did not need to end on such a sour note. It doesn't bother me that much since I played Prelude and have high tolerance for such issues, but the contrast between the cool concept and the finickiness of the ending was a bit sad.

Another excellent one! Thoughtful. Multi-sequence moves without any tedious timing or one-way decisions.
A05Polzar 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:43pm
Had to come back to that one, but I got it.

@AlosTalos Thanks a lot for playing! It was quite interesting to watch you solve some of the puzzles in this series :]
@tapmage Haha nice work :p Glad you enjoyed it in the end!
tapmage 21 Apr, 2020 @ 6:30pm
I got to the exit door and was like, "oh, now I have to go back and do something over again". Lol. Well I figured it out some 15 min later. Very enjoyable puzzle.
AlosTalos 18 Apr, 2020 @ 6:14am
Finally! This is the first lazer puzzle I did not have a hard time with. Don't know how but it just clicked. Loved this one.Loved having you as a guest on my stream the other day. Can't wait to continue playing the rest of the series.
Mikeastro  [author] 17 Apr, 2020 @ 7:30am
@Cortexyan Haha it's okay! These puzzles are definitely not trivial to solve. I hope you enjoyed it regardless :]
Cortexcyan 17 Apr, 2020 @ 7:05am
Sorry that I had to watch the walkthroughs several times before finally getting the exact sequence of events! Having played and enjoyed Portal since day 1 way back in 2005 (the orange box with HL2) I thought I was a veteran at this game - but these sort of puzzles require a "computer program compiler" type brain to solve - which I found out I ain't got lol! Easy if you know how.:steamhappy:
Cortexcyan 16 Apr, 2020 @ 5:12pm
Going to have to sleep on this one! *Wakes up in a cold sweat at 4 AM shrieking "EUREKA!"* (Hopefully lol) Real good one, this!

@mr. Out Thank you for playing once again :] Glad you liked it

You showed simple potential of laser. Well done, I like it.
Mikeastro  [author] 31 Mar, 2020 @ 5:27pm
@Determinated Haha yeah that tends to happen with this one :P Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed!
Dire Domino 31 Mar, 2020 @ 3:21pm
Definitely overcomplicated that one, but that was very clever and really fun!
Mikeastro  [author] 29 Mar, 2020 @ 5:46am
Thanks all for playing :D
I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
jp 29 Mar, 2020 @ 5:12am
I love the music for this one; well in tune with that clean excellent puzzle.
I personally would have put it earlier in the series, as it looks less complicated than the previous one. Another hit and favorite! :steamhappy:
BehindPortal 19 Mar, 2020 @ 6:48am
OMG, solution was so simple in end, and i was running around like fool :steamfacepalm:

Towelie Clegane 17 Mar, 2020 @ 11:45am
yeah i can really fall in and that detail pissed me off. other than that its a nice little puzzle
PirateEnthusiast 17 Mar, 2020 @ 11:41am
Wonderful test, I really racked my brain for a bit there. Yes, you can fall through the small L shaped chip on the small floor crack. Happened to me in the midst of almost cracking it sadly. ( or so i thought, there was more to it ) Great design otherwise!
racknae 15 Mar, 2020 @ 1:38pm
Overthought things quite a bit here.
Mikeastro  [author] 15 Mar, 2020 @ 11:02am
@Towelie Clegane Whoops, can you really fall in? I could always just walk over the small gap...
@Spider_Dawg Haha yeah I can see when that happened xD Nice work
Spider_Dawg 15 Mar, 2020 @ 9:44am
Pure logic! Woohoo! Although a little trickier than I realized before absent mindedly falling into the goo thinking I was done.
Towelie Clegane 15 Mar, 2020 @ 12:52am
why the fuck would you put a crack in the floor near the white panel? just so we can be annoyed by falling in water and having to start all over ? well done !
Master.AKA 14 Mar, 2020 @ 9:13am
Oh! I meant something else : )) I meant the number on the board in the beginning of each chamber. For Example it was something like 143/148 and then 142/148 and so on! :lunar2019grinningpig:
