there open Cultures.artdef

Copy one of the civs data, and paste it under them all or between two of them and just change this line <m_ElementName text="CIVILIZATION_BYZANTIUM"/>

and that does it

something to note buying barbarians units dont show up as ethnic unit but with missing limbs and such

these mods are pretty good. prefer these mods to run more than the game crashing. something to note buying barbarians units dont show up as ethnic unit but with missing limbs and such.

replace Greek/Roman German Shepherd with a Molossian perhaps?
also more advanced units like crossbowmen should probably mimick Constantinopolitan troops of like 6th century because Trajan's legionaries with medieval crossbows look weird af

I've had the same issue mentioned by Junk with scouts walking around with no torso or limbs. It's just head, clothes, hands, and feet. Looks pretty hilarious, but definitely kills the experience a bit.

I saw a Roman scout walking around without a torso or limbs while using this, like some sort of Rayman unit. Does this mod need an update?

Most recent game has Roman Legions standing in normal swordsman pose instead of the formation they had before. Is that a product of this mod and is it something that can be changed back?

I agree, the crested helmets on medieval units like Crossbowmen and Pikemen look a bit off. As does the rectangular shield on the Courser, cavalry always wore oval shields, square shields were strictly for infantry.

This is a great looking mod, but the ancient look of medieval units is kinda of a turn-off for me.

Classical archers should probably be wearing hats. Also, what this game calls a 'catapult' is actually an onager, not a catapult (a 'catapult' is a giant crossbow). Also Roman crossbowmen should probably look Medieval Roman rather than Classical Roman. Also you should probably change warriors' icon to a primitive spear (steal from Far Cry Primal maybe).

@San Felipe - It should at least work but I can't say for sure... in this mod I have created a new culture for these countries so that could create weird conflicts in terms of appearances for the new units from Warfare Expanded but again, haven't tested it

I'll be waiting for the asian units pack! They are the most atrocious ones in my opinion. Watching indian soldiers in a semi-european armor hurts my eyes as much as my heart.
I'm hoping for a mod that fixes buildings too, but that will probably remain a dream of mine.

Using the scout/Great General helmet on the Cuirassier or Cavalry would be a cool touch too. I'm not entirely against what-if units as long as they match and are somewhat immersive.

@BostonBongRips: It won't be - in fact it can't be. With how Civ VI works every mod that adds new unit art needs to have a separate R.E.D. compatibility mod made for it.

Oh my word, my single favorite thing you've done out of all this wonderful stuff, is replaced the Warrior with spear-wielding troops. I've long held that a sensible and realistic tech tree would start with spear users and make melee class troops a later development. This would also make the RPS of the early game combat more interesting, as Cavalry could actually be a counter to something, instead of just an alternative.

If you were to make some adjustment that transformed Warriors into anti-cav units, Militia, and added the Warrior as the Bronze Working unlock. It would all make so much more sense. You start with crude spears, and when you develop real spear formation tactics and design, you also develop a countermeasure for those tactics. Then you need cavalry to deal with THOSE guys. It MAKES SENSE. A buncha work to implement though, and while I've got designs for a revamped unit tree, I can't program that, let alone model it. Kudos!

This mod is awsome! This should make the game more enjoyable for sure! Although I get why the civ 6 devs would make this cosmetic choice, that was one of the best things about civ 6, is how the Aztec swordsman uses aztec shield and has clothes, but at the same time, it wasn't diverse enough for me XD. So I hope you can eventually do this for all empires in the game(that would be awsome)

But TBH I think the hardest part would be america and my request for america and Aulstrila is to kinda make up your own cosmetics for the Older eras? Like it would be pretty fun to see what a Speculative Medivil period american soldier would look like.
