Autoplay policy is a web standard that prohibits videos from autoplaying with sound, which makes this type of interfacing breaky as it requires a human to interact with the browser (tablet) for video with audio to play. The only way this can work is by shoving an oversized tablet in to the wall to take the screens place, which was already an available option with the !tablet command.

Autoplay policy is a good thing and this method of interfacing was just the result of exploiting the bug in which autoplay policy was broken on a previous Chromium build (tablet browser version).

While it's possible to still play videos with sound, it requires clunky interaction where each player has to interact with the tablet, because it runs locally for each player. Intuitive usability is a big priority in my mod design, so clunky workarounds like the aforementioned is not how I wish to distribute something.

Really wished this still worked, I understand why it doesn't (I think) but it was nice while it lasted.

I'm curious, there's a mod that allows you to project things. Could that be used to project the video to the screen area?

Oh dear. In case it does end up being un-fixable I'd like to say thank you for making such a cozy mod in the first place and I wish ye the best in future endeavors.

I suspect this is because of the tablet being updated to a later version of chromium that handles autoplay policy like it should, which unfortunately means that this mod is going to be broken indefinitely.

I can't seem to get anything playing anymore either. Video links always start paused now.

The play command doesn't play the video link any more. The video is paused with a "play" icon.

Seems to really not care for the "share" link that youtube gives you youtu.be

Is there a way to fast-forward or jump within the video?

Love this mod, just wish I could bring this setup into a different room with a table set up for gaming

I can't seem to play videos either. Iv'e tried it both ways of command and URL in one message and two separate messages.

Also would it be able to play movies from the local drive?

Updated with simplified commands, now just "!play url" without them being separate messages. "!goto" was added long ago despite the description not having been updated. Twitch and other streaming sites are not possible as they're unsupported by the tablet.

can u please hide cursor while pushed F11 in fullscreen? when hiding the icons, the cursor will stay in the middle of the screen. Many thanks for this awesome workshop thing :D

@sschulz First you write a message in chat with ONLY !play. Then you write a second message in chat with the youtube link as explained in the description

Can someone explain what and where to input the youtube link. I'm not the biggest tech person. (Yes, I read the description). Just give an example.

If your hardware can handle it, increase your shadow quality as then the built in lighting/reflection probe will light up the scene based on the content you're viewing. You can manually adjust the base lighting in the Lighting options otherwise.

This is so awesome xD Is there a way to change the lighting level when in play mode? Would be cool to have it still go dark but just light enough to still see the outline of the chairs/speakers/etc

I am doing "!play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=(etc)" with a valid youtube link, and there is no input, am I missing something here? Does this still work?

Getting a "Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available. Click here to visit our frequently asked questions about HTML5 video." message after pasting the link. This pops up in a YouTube window (with links to other videos), not within TTS or Steam. I made sure the link was the simple version in the preferred formatting. It was not a part of a play list or anything goofy like that. Any help?

Twitch stream embeds are actually not supported on the tablet most probably due to the codec not being licensed. Only YouTube streams would work.

Always been possible (since the introduction of the tablet), all you need is an app to sync webcam streams and output a web friendly video stream back, you can DIY this with discord+twitch if you wanted to.

Do you think we will ever be able to use the tablets as a collective Video Teleconferencing tool for Gaming with multiple webcams on in game?

It feels like with this mod, it's getting a little closer. We just need the right website, and the right in-game commands....

Imagine if Each player could stream their webcam with negligible latency to a URL and we could click the tablet to view their video stream.

I feel it would make this game more fun if we could see eachother as we play, you know?

Kinda wish this worked out with twitch too.

Added !goto which takes you to a provided link, works best for sharing images and static pages. Scaled down the environment, this comes at the cost of being able to clip through more easily, might revert this change later. Added !tablet command that swaps out the screen for an interactable tablet - NOT recommended for multiplayer use as any interaction is not synced between clients.

Pause is probably not happening because the only sync available to connected players is onload. I will check out the yt player API to see if there's anything I can use to generate links with timestamps, though I doubt I would be able to make it work. I can add an unsynced "tablet mode" where the render tex screen is replaced with just a tablet that you can interact with, but any interaction beyond going to a site can not be synced between clients (the tablet is a plugin that runs locally for everyone), and this feature would only be recommended for singleplayer use.

Wow. Not only is this mod beautifully constructed, but it's just a super brilliant idea. Amazing job! (This would be so cool to check out in VR next to VR friends in the same space.)

Oh, well then I misinterpreted that part of the settings. Now it works. Looking forward to pause commands.
