Let the funnels carry the cubes for you and set them down when you want them. Very easy but every fun.
sillymel 3 Apr, 2024 @ 5:09pm
Cool puzzle! I especially liked the way the starting platform was used as part of the solution !

The funnel really got a workout in this one! According to my count, it was used eight times! (I'm counting each time you or an object is carried by a funnel to be one "use.")

The only recommendation I have is giving the cube a longer runway between the fizzlers or making sure there's a decently large (at least one full Puzzle Maker square) portalable surface that can be portaled with the button used in the main trick onscreen. That'll make the main trick easier to time .

The objective: clear
The set up: also clear
The middle: wait... how? No srsly How!

Great map.

Had a nice difficulty spike towards the end!
dscflyboy1 12 Aug, 2022 @ 12:26pm
Once again, I take flight to escape these puzzles. Is there some obvious trick that literally every player other than me knows? Or am I just supposed to beat my little digital head against the wall until I randomly place the right portals at the right times? It would be really cool if there was somewhere I could learn this stuff instead of just having to look up every solution I don't know.

I finally found key move to connect my before and after as proper solution.
SpielSatzFail 15 May, 2022 @ 2:43pm
Small and mean. A real logical brain teaser. Thumbs up.
Mikeastro  [author] 13 May, 2022 @ 5:21pm
@Mr.Unreliable Thanks for playing! Indeed, the purpose of this series was precisely to show the players how far one can get in terms of logic without sacrificing simplicity. It makes me happy to hear that you can appreciate that! The challenge you propose has been done before, by the way, like this map here. by another great author. I'd recommend checking it out :D
Mr.Unreliable 11 May, 2022 @ 2:50pm
while completing this chamber and watching some videos I may have a challenge for you, or rather a puzzle idea, what about a chamber that's primary focus was using fraken turret's walking function, maybe also using normal cubes to distinguish between the two, I also love the music you have made, ahem about the chamber, very confusing as all these have been, and you have really shown well, really with the rest how simplicity can still be confusing, I like how the cube and funnel was used for the last bit as well, would never have thought about that, and an amazing finish, a confusing rapping your around portals.
Mikeastro  [author] 23 Apr, 2022 @ 2:46am
@StackSmasher789 Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm very happy to hear you continue to enjoy the series. However, I am not completely sure which cube grab you are referring to; the solution to #6 should be perfectly clean
StackSmasher789 23 Apr, 2022 @ 12:25am
This was insanely satisfying. Not sure if I will remember the solution the next time I play it, but it was fairly clever use of all the elements. You say it's 3/10 difficulty, but all your puzzles are 10/10 on satisfying scale. (Except a few like last one which required ugly cube grab , even that is a solid 9/10 satisfying though) Thanks to the anonymous person in YouTube comments who recommended this collection
Mikeastro  [author] 29 Mar, 2022 @ 2:18am
@RonDeSantis_Gaming Thank you! I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the series. Regarding the signage, I'm not sure; I don't think there should be any tricks involved to get it to work. Maybe you happen to have a version of beemod installed where they do not work properly? Try changing versions briefly and see if that fixes it
JiggleYourJerkyMrTurkey 28 Mar, 2022 @ 7:47pm
This was very fun and satisfying to solve! I have been enjoying the series so far and I love how you can make such a complex yet rewarding test out of only a few test elements.
Also, I have one small, unrelated question: how do you get the signage to work in beemod? I have been trying to use it but cannot since it gives me errors.
Mikeastro  [author] 8 Aug, 2021 @ 10:12pm
@nerdlingnation Thank you for the kind words once again :] This one is quite sneaky indeed
nerdlingnation 8 Aug, 2021 @ 9:15pm
Just playing through this series again. I think this might be one of my favorites. Couldn't remember how to do it, and for some reason spent like 3 minutes just staring the final move straight in the face. Very well-made puzzle.
Mikeastro  [author] 11 Feb, 2021 @ 6:36am
Thank you for the kind words! Indeed, all entries in the series are done with PeTI and beemod, with the exception of #3 and #11, for which someone was kind enough to remake the puzzle in hammer :]
Talisac 11 Feb, 2021 @ 6:20am
I'm also enjoying their beautiful and careful design, which really add some value on these tests. They are done with PETI + beemod?
Mikeastro  [author] 11 Feb, 2021 @ 4:37am
@Talisac Thanks a lot again for playing a few maps in the series :] I'm happy to hear that you continue to enjoy them!
Talisac 11 Feb, 2021 @ 3:16am
Great!
Muzozavr 19 Oct, 2020 @ 4:14am
Just figured out what I believe is the proper way - one slightly tricky move required, but it works just fine. I was originally on the right track, but couldn't see one key move, which I now did... an excellent idea, indeed!
Mikeastro  [author] 18 Oct, 2020 @ 2:43pm
@Muzozavr Haha wow I never knew that was possible! Indeed, not intended :p
Muzozavr 18 Oct, 2020 @ 2:36pm
I feel like I "tricked" this one - got the cube in the middle, but then... I'm not supposed to be able to press that button while the funnel is in the way, right? Crouch + forward + look down = the button now has an imprint of my face. :P

Whatever the intended solution is, I'm sure it's a pretty complicated puzzle, but enjoyed it this way, too. I'll go back and try to figure out the proper solution at some point.
Mikeastro  [author] 19 Aug, 2020 @ 11:24am
@KØ414 B33R Thank you very much! This one is sneaky indeed - a bit counter-intuitive. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed :]
KØ414 B33R 19 Aug, 2020 @ 10:28am
Really, really good! Don't know why it took me forever! Once I figured it out, it seems so simple. Thought provoking and patience testing are my favorite kind of puzzles whether crosswords, physical manipulation puzzles, or Portal test chambers. Sometimes you have to walk away to give you brain a chance to make some new synapses. Then come back later and the answer is right there. Sometimes ;-) Thanks for another fun one!
Mikeastro  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 4:08pm
@P75Formula Jr Excellent work! You're going through the collection at a steady pace, nice!
A05Polzar 12 Aug, 2020 @ 3:05pm
Well after some time, I figured out the way I going to get the cube where I wanted it the button next to the funnel , then came the hard part. Got it though.
Mikeastro  [author] 28 Apr, 2020 @ 2:23pm
Thanks for playing guys :] Glad you all enjoyed!
tapmage 28 Apr, 2020 @ 2:18pm
Finally solved it. Threw me off for a bit. That repeating music sure put me to sleep. Maybe the music should have a little more variety and be longer before it loops on repeat. :)
DemonMathTeacher 4 Apr, 2020 @ 1:18pm
Nice puzzle! Enjoy these logic ones much more than the ones requiring joystick acrobatics!
jp 29 Mar, 2020 @ 5:46am
Yeah! I remember this one and it's again fun and clean. Well done!
I'm almost up to date with the series now! :)
Mikeastro  [author] 21 Mar, 2020 @ 11:13am
@Spacekitty Thank you very much for playing :D Next part coming out very soon!
SpKi 21 Mar, 2020 @ 10:44am
Neato. I had to catch up on parts 5,6 and this one and all of those maps were enjoyable, especially the 6th one! Im really liking this series so far.
Mikeastro  [author] 21 Mar, 2020 @ 4:55am
@OldManCrotchety Excellent work! It's indeed not obvious. I'm glad you liked it :]
OldManCrotchety 20 Mar, 2020 @ 8:46pm
Great stuff! Made me think. Tried it first when it was late and I was tired, so the solutions did not come tome. But the next day it was clearer. Thanks!
wildgoosespeeder 20 Mar, 2020 @ 6:35pm
Devious solution though!
Mikeastro  [author] 20 Mar, 2020 @ 6:05pm
@wildgoosespeeder Yeah I see where you're coming from. The key move is indeed a bit counter-intuitive, and it doesn't help that there's three fizzlers, where I would have liked to limit the number of fizzlers per puzzle in this series to two. One of them cannot be toggled, though, so I had hoped that I could still get away with it :p Anyway, I hope you liked it nonetheless
wildgoosespeeder 20 Mar, 2020 @ 5:48pm
Difficulty higher than advertised. I had to look at the solution video to get an idea of what you had in mind. For whatever reason, many fizzlers tend to stump me more often than other types of puzzles.
Mikeastro  [author] 20 Mar, 2020 @ 3:08am
@jcploquin Thank you very much! The solution is indeed not obvious. I'm glad you enjoyed :]
jcploquin 20 Mar, 2020 @ 1:53am
Really great ! I had to think quite a lot to solve it :-)
BehindPortal 19 Mar, 2020 @ 7:28am
cool man. i really enjoyed. :p2blue:fav:p2cube::p2orange:
Mikeastro  [author] 18 Mar, 2020 @ 9:22pm
@Curse Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. More are still on the way :D
Curse 18 Mar, 2020 @ 8:53pm
Nice puzzle. That one move had me thinking for a little bit. Glad to see I solved it intended. Keep these coming!
Mikeastro  [author] 18 Mar, 2020 @ 6:27pm
@Towelie Clegane Hmm, not sure. I'll give it some thought. Thanks for pointing it out. I'm glad you enjoyed it in the end
Towelie Clegane 18 Mar, 2020 @ 5:52pm
totally doable, great puzzle as usual. just unfortunate that alternative solution is possible. do you think its possible to make it not so ?
Mikeastro  [author] 18 Mar, 2020 @ 5:49pm
@Towelie Clegane Yep, that's it! Indeed a tiny bit of timing but it should have been doable, I think :]
Towelie Clegane 18 Mar, 2020 @ 5:01pm
Was moving the cube with the beam while being in another "room" part of the solution ? cause that was kinda tricky too !
Towelie Clegane 18 Mar, 2020 @ 4:37pm
ok thanks! ill try to solve it the right way then
Mikeastro  [author] 18 Mar, 2020 @ 12:18pm
@Towelie Clegane The idea should have been that you cannot press the button with the funnel in the way. If you still managed to do it, I believe you if you say it was quite tricky. There is a solution that is much, much easier to do and much more logical also
