Most metals do not burn, they melt, only at high temperatures.
NONE of the metals in rimworld burn. dick

Why not officially integrate this mod into the game, who can stand such a violation of common sense burning. So please update it. I'm sorry to ask the author to do the task that should be completed by the official, but we really need it.
The Exterminator 6 Nov, 2022 @ 3:21am
Heeeeeelp we really need this. I just can't stand burning steel :(
RexEverything 25 Oct, 2022 @ 8:34am
Heeelp usss, we need an update for 1.4
VeeOt_Dragon 25 Oct, 2022 @ 7:45am
will this still work with 1.4?
phenyxasher 15 Sep, 2022 @ 2:34am
update please?
IonStorm 4 May, 2022 @ 8:46pm
@super_jqp well actually, while your answer is also correct you could have just said: Actually ALL metals are capable of burning. Metal fires are actually VERY dangerous since they are very hot and are hard to put out. try burning magnesium and then throwing it in water. it doesn't go out. Even titanium burns and it is actually a huge hazard for titanium refineries since titanium tends to EXPLODE.

When update to 1.3?
Zeng Xiao 27 Feb, 2022 @ 7:22am

SubsAndSoda 20 Feb, 2022 @ 12:19am
@super_jqp you build your walls out of thermite?
super_jqp 15 Feb, 2022 @ 12:53am
I'm sorry you are wrong. Sincerely yours: Thermite.
tigertank909-YT 4 Feb, 2022 @ 11:17am

smitty_the_smith 13 Aug, 2021 @ 11:27am
What about vents?
InsanitySimulator 28 Jul, 2021 @ 3:22pm
I hear it works in 1.3 but I haven't tested it, personally this is one of my favorite mods when it comes to utility so i'll miss the lack of updates
VonArens 28 Jul, 2021 @ 12:26pm
@qwertyww that's due to the durability going from 300 - 600, so your original walls will still be at 300 (if they were undamaged) but have their max increased to 600.
QWERTYww 28 Jul, 2021 @ 10:19am
As a heads-up, this will lower all items made of metal to 50% health when installing. Not sure why.
dirlewangalis 23 Jul, 2021 @ 8:27am
Mlie please
Good Soup 22 Jul, 2021 @ 11:14am

Hambone 20 Jul, 2021 @ 10:06pm
Apparently this author is not maintaining their mods anymore, according to their post on a different mod.
InsanitySimulator 20 Jul, 2021 @ 6:57pm
Hey i'm sorry for asking as I imagine you're going to be getting this a lot but do you plan to update this mod to 1.3?
Melodic Oak 20 Jul, 2021 @ 4:34pm
Any plans to officially update this mod to 1.3?
VulpineVandal 19 Jul, 2021 @ 12:05am
works fine in 1.3 as far as i know ;)
smitty_the_smith 18 Jul, 2021 @ 10:19pm
Does this work in 1.3?
Myst Leissa 31 Mar, 2021 @ 7:41pm
I'm guessing this patches right? I mean, that's the biggest problem I have with mods in general, alot "overwrite" defintions, instead of "Patching Files" - and as a coder myself I know the difference: A "overwrite" REPLACES the vanilla values /permanently/. a "patch" will be something that can be added/removed between sessions, and uninstalls rather cleanly (as long as you don't do it mid-game)
what about steel vents? does this mod keep them from burning? Im trying to set up a steam based heating system.
PheonixArchive 6 Feb, 2021 @ 6:46am
Well maybe the raiders using jet fuel.
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby 2 Feb, 2021 @ 6:14am
Air conditioning pipes sadly aren't stuffed and will still burn at a 100%...
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby 2 Feb, 2021 @ 6:06am
@ELLIOTTCABLE - Rimatomics pipes etc. don't burn (0% Flammability) by default. Rimefeller sort of makes sense, since it's an oil pipe (100% Flammability). The stuffed pipes by Dubs Bad Hygiene simply use the values of the material it is made from, meaning wood will be 100% Flammability and steel 40%. With this mod, this changes to 0% Flammability, so that's not an issue and doesn't need to be patched.
Wulfaskr 30 Jan, 2021 @ 8:03pm
I wonder if its possible to enhance this to generically cover all 'metals'? Is that a material tag the game uses?

I'm referring to how some recipes make use of 'any wood' or 'any stone'.

If the mod covered 'any metal' it would implicitly be compatible with any other mods that add new metal types without requiring patches (assuming the said mod didn't already make their metals non-flammable.

@Sebastian Cigar I'm obviously not the mod author, but in the description of this mod it says :

> "steel is more durable because... it's steel" (with screenshot below it)

So when you switched to this mod, basically all your steel structures doubled their HP, which explains why you needed to "repair" them. That wouldn't have happened if you had started a new game, for example.

Also I can confirm that "X-path patching" is better practice than overwriting vanilla "Def" structures.

hi!
been using "Metal Doesn't* Burn" (*sic) and found Metal Don't Burn. after downloading the latter, I remembered I already had the former installed, so I replaced Doesn't mod with Don't mod (urs), loaded a colony
all stuffed objects made of metal (plasteel chandelier, all Hygiene pipes, all steel walls, all vanilla wires too iirc) were now at 50%HP and had to be repaired. needless to say, this'd take days bc I have 25 FPS on a good, vegetation-less day so I dropped the idea of keeping ur mod for now even tho it has better graphics on its workshop page (ergo, it's cooler)
so, don't wanna come off as an a-hole but still, my questions are: was this supposed to happen? and what actually makes these two mods different? I've read in Doesnt mod's comment section it overrides diffs instead of patching them or w/e, Idk, I'm not a coder. I'm assuming, that's bad and ur mod doesn't do that?
thanks in advance, sorry for writing such a confusing message, I don't even speak English
Karmapowered 11 Jan, 2021 @ 12:59pm
+1 for ELLIOTTCABLE's request please.
PunicLunatic 6 Nov, 2020 @ 8:01pm
I agree with the comment below!
ELLIOTTCABLE on Discord 22 Oct, 2020 @ 7:05pm
May be out-of-scope — but any chance you could also patch, if installed, the metal pipes from Rimefeller / Rimatomics / Vanilla Furniture Expanded (Power) to also be non-flammable?
ZicWaarg 11 Sep, 2020 @ 7:29pm
Good day!
Question incoming:
If a character is wearing armor (normal or power armor), is the chance of this character on fire reduced? There is a great GlitterTech mod that has an equally great Commandos faction. The bastards of this faction are armed with rifles, with a high level of arson of characters. I am looking for a way to overcome this injustice, maybe your mod will help. Sorry, I don't speak English well.
Rainoa 5 Sep, 2020 @ 4:55pm
this include the steel doors?
SpaceQuokka 29 Aug, 2020 @ 10:41pm
