@thibaut3000 That’s a solid suggestion. Adding permanent cold snaps could definitely create a tougher experience (the world settings are always customisable), I might have a new scenario coming along.

You could create a hardcore version by adding permanant cold snaps + setting the world as wet and cold (not sure you can force planet settings in the scenario manager) to simulate the lack of sun heat

@Psina, unfortunately you can not set this to be plantless in vanilla in the scenario editor, however if you wish, you can open the dev mode and destroy all plants that way. Alternatively there is a mod called 'Configurable Maps' in which you can control the density, or perhaps the 'Regrowth' mods as there is a wasteland biome there which could be more immersive for what you want, personally I use both mods along with realistic darkness for this.

doesn't make any sense the fact that there is trees and plants

Nice scenario, turns out making a wall half way across the map while there's an eclipse is not a good idea when you can't see what's there.

This is simple, but a really good idea! Thanks for making this, been getting annoyed at my main colony and am looking for a good distraction for a bit. Will most likely use this scenario.

combine with Cthulhu mods and you have a Sunless Sea scenario.

I feel like a planet could be dark but warm, like if the atmosphere is blotting out sunlight or the habitable areas are all underground, heated by the core. Or you could be on the dark side of a tidally locked planet, supposedly, the light and dark sides of such planets trade warmth via atmospheric currents. Also, there are possibly star types like red dwarfs and brown dwarfs that give off radiation in the form of X-rays instead of visible light. On such a planet, I think you'd also be getting uncomfortable amounts of radiation, so that could be permanent dark AND permanent toxic fallout.

awesome idea:praisesun:

It makes the scenario much harder but all you need to do is set your spawn world to lowest temperature, possibly high rainfall for snow in some biomes (e.g. Arid Shrubland), or choose ice sheet/ tundra. Hope that helps :)

I had the same thought

If there's no sun, the planet should also be frozen.
