Uploaded a Hotfix to Mordor mountain Trolls still needing recruits. The Eye of Sauron now slows down enemy units. Also greatly reduced Rhun Ore generation from their farms slaves. Also increased the mod's performance.

Ver 1.2.3 released! Among other changes, you can now pick a faction from Lobby. Added new soundtrack. Removed recruits and replaced them by build time.

i was playing on medium and the map was a fairly balanced 1 v 1 map, maybe i need to crank it up to hard. ill give it a go and get back to you. the game ran for around 35 minutes before i pushed into where they started, so for whatever reason he just never build anything...

Hard to tell, i've never really encountered that issue. Might be a problem with the map you play on or the difficulty could be too low. ai players get less resources than human players for anything under "medium" difficulty.

long shot here, but ive played a few games and ive noticed that if the enemy for whatever reason pick the faction that starts with a caravan they will never utilize it or build anything. ive cleared the entire map and spend a lot of time building up and then won in a few moments as a handful of swordsmen punch the caravan to death. Is this a known issue and is it fixable?

yea, but maybe a building where you can slowly choose attributes you want your civilization to have, maybe a skill tree type of mechanic? I don't know if that's even possible on Rusted Warfare, but you could try.

RISE and LoH are some of your best work in my opinion, I feel like having so that you can slowly create your own culture in rise would be great and would help it stand out on the workshop.

I like the mod, however most units seem to be very similar, as in it turns into a spam fest. Making units- some atleast take longer to train and giving them more variety would be nice, as well as increasing archer accuracy. Dol Guldur Undead units feel rather weak. And it takes awhile to get them out. In addition the "Raise the Deads" ability is slow, and ineffective most of the time.

In general it feels like each faction is a close cut copy and paste with different models and major units. The basic stuff is what gets spammed, and that is... less than optimal.

The late game is especially painful, because by then everyone has virtually infinite resources. And will constantly spam the same units that deal the same amount of damage with minor differences.

It gets worse when you hit the unit cap.

Great mod ! however, there seem to be some balance issue, Dol Guldur and its unique units seem to be weaker than most factions, and the rhun seem to be a little OP right now.

Version 1.2 brings 2 new factions. The Sylvan realm and Dol Guldur. It also introduces flying units. Eagles and Fell beasts can now be recruited by their respective alignments.

Soon you will be able to play as the kingdoms of Mirkwood, The sylvan realm and Dol guldur, And recruit the the noble great eagles and ferocious fell beasts.

Good can recruit ents and evil cave trolls. Also with the War of the ring Faction selector, the ai will match your faction choice so its always good vs evil.

No, the ai is not smart enough to build walls but it can build towers. Also, there isnt much to work with for naval units. The war of the ring is almost exclusively a land conflict.

Uh well with the good guys, make many farms in ranks. With the evil guys, make lots of cows and let them fatten. Isengard and mordor can also eat prisoners. With Rhûn make many hamlets. With dwarves i place dwelling along walls and in ranks. It is really simply a matter of space managment. And with the evil guys to remember to produce cows in advance.
