To go back to 3.14, you have to make a new mod, add a descriptor, I think. And copy some of the files over to the new mod. I used several YouTube tutorials to get that done. I did that many moons ago, so I don't remember exactly what I did. I have stayed in 3.14 as well.
Does anyone still have the 3.14 version of this? I severely dislike version 4 of the base game in general, but forgot to make a backup of this mod.

Clustered spawns setting gives me better results, but there is still spacing like the generation creates lil bubbles of dead zone between clusters

There's gotta be some kind of hard limit to how PDX is generating things.
Cause with no extra AI's
Just the regular AI empires you can adjust.
Including myself only a max of 7 empires get generated in a 100 system, galaxy map.

Which to be frank is extremely underwhelming.
At the very least I wish the limit was 19 if I didn't have any other AI types enabled.
Cause that would've been 20 "players" in total on the map which gives each a chance to get 5 systems.
Figure random placement and then have the generation luck set in and you've got a cool and challenging game where it's like a civ 5 game with a lot of "players" on a small map.
A sort of "rags to riches" kind of game due to the scarcity of space and potential resources for people to nab.

I had issue once with planet spawning clicked on planted and game crashed but that resolved on its own by deleting the whole game and reinstalling it. only thing i can guess at some of the loading screens like planets or solar system is that paradox has some art assets that do not load correctly or maybe install correctly I dont know but it have to be an asset provided with game.

I never had any issue with empires not showing up that I added.
but I usually add less than 50% to 50% for example if its 1000 solar systems planets most I have ever added was 80 ai

so if I was only running a 100 size solar system Id probably only add 10 ai empires because they has to be x .number of free planets for those pre empire races, and then I also found out that if you raise the solar system above certain number or even sometimes less, for some reason, there end game crisis spawns in center of galaxy with no way to get to those planets inside the black hole zone.

unlucky you cant duplicate it but i was just running the mod by itself to make sure but yeah, the game is rough rn anyway so hopefully they fix this version sooner rather then later and it gets a bit more stable

nope as stated I cant duplicate any of issues state below.
so cant duplicate it cant fix it also wouldn't really matter because the issues would be related to who ever the generation of the systems and AI are done not number. which mostly be on paradox side of things if not using a mod.

all this mod does is in cress options menu not how things are generated and I only run this mod no other mods.

I will say thought that paradox try to go out of there way it seems to break mods that add more than default anything to there game.

Is there a companion mod I need to have?
I have ran two instances of a
100 star galaxy
49 AI
1 player (me)
No fallen
No Marauder
just no extra AI/special types of nations.

But it seems like every time the Galactic Community is set up, which forms pretty early each time.
There is only like 6 nations which is including myself.

Hey i'm new to Stellaris. I've made a bunch of custom empires and even when I have the correct number available they don't show up in game. Could it conflict with the 'real galaxy' mod or something like that? Thanks!!

causes crashes when discovering things, for example i discovered some primitives, went to click into their system and crashed, other crashes with similar circumstances, 2500 stars, 40 ai give or take on some trys

don't know fisherb1986 have not had any crashes playing it with just this mod and no other mods so I cant seem reproduce any crashing except when I push limit above certain perimeter, which is normal you know if settings set are causing issue because it crash during the galaxy setup during the loading period. if it makes it past that then every thing was generated correctly and there was no issues.

you only have 10 empires in game with 2k systems seems weird that just how Random placement works its random there --- "no safe space created its all used" there no guarantee of any space between you and any one else.

I have had games where empires started on both sides of me
"honestly it makes game easier if you do have empire AI on all sides of you"
because it gives you advantage as along as you are ruthless enough to annex there home worlds.

those high star system of over 1,500 to 5,000 are only in mod by request due to individuals who wanted those sizes because there computers could handle the loading issue it causes.

the max I have played is about 1,000 and most of AI i use in my game is Random with max cap of 80 and I have never had a crash ever or issue with game play.

so for me I always have AI empires leaving me no room for expansion I just make room by annexation Early game before any one does a lot of ship research is best time to force expand you empire.

its strange. the first 3 games i setup, it worked fine until i found one of the systems that crashed the game when clicked. Now that I've re-enabled the mod, i'm getting other weird behaviour instead. first game (10 AI - 2000 stars) i started in a system with some unknown species and instantly lost without even unpausing the game at the start. Next (also 10 AI - 2000 stars) the game crashed during the loading, 3rd same settings, i was there were 2 AI in neighbouring systems leaving me no expansion options. Is this normal?

you can try adding more names but I haven't ran into that issue my self.
if it crashes it usually crashes during loading part when its generating.
I just tested 5k star system galaxy with no AI so load faster, I clicked on few stars and it zoomed me into star system with no crash on my end. I also was able to bring up planet UI.

so normally when you click on star system it zooms into Star system Map
and if i am reading your question right when you click on star and it then trys to zoom in instead of doing zoom in it crashes. ?

to me it also sounds like for some reason the click initialization to go from galaxy map to the star system map zoom is broken or its loading some animation or gfxs that are croup ted when you are going to star system map.

Quick question; I've tried using this mod to create games with 3000 and 5000 stars, but each time there appears to be star systems that when i click on them, the game crashes to desktop. I assume i'm missing something to do with the additional star systems or names or something? Any ideas?

added a 50 star system it only allows for 40 empire start with AI thought might crash with that never who knows.

is it possible to add 50 Star Size please, been playing 200 Star Size yet still lagging during end game year, anyway been bored playing with AI so might as well remove all of them and make the map even smaller.

its not just number of stars its number of empires and number of smaller pre empires that game that is tossed in also.. it also depend on if you have m2 drive or not...

on main screen my mod does touch that file or any of the empires that you can select on that screen, that file that runs that main menu for new games is the New_games_setup.gui file which plays no role in this mod, this mod changes the setup.gui which is screen you see after you get past the New_game_setup.gui screen. so my mom would not load till you are at the galaxy setup screen.

the screen comes after the start screen would probly crash if some mod was changing the races or empires that show up on that screen or, if its messing around with the New_games_setup.gui...

which like i said this mod does nether of those things.

that is most help i can give you on that button or screen on main menu

Playing with 100,000 stars now. All good. Setup is much better now. Reckon you can go for 200,000 to 1,000,000

yet me know if there issues crashing or anything before i add any more galaxy sizes, of course as always you probly can add more AI then there systems for them to start on which probly cause a crash.

issue was with the User interface, that paradox designed it had hard cap on how many AI can be in the game based on how many could fix in that new setup screen max they hard coded was 43

I figured out how to edit the UI to allow more but I also noticed other issues so I had to scrape whole mod and start over.

Hi Regnion that other mod far as I can tell it only show the three human races that paradox has by default none of other races show up in it at least not for me, I also checked files on the main game they have no added any new files or change any of file names. so not sure how you are getting more paradox empires than the three human ones in that other mod.

anyways how that mod works is simple it takes the 12 files under prescripted_countries and just copys them as blank files with hidden text in them that apply nothing to game those files as along as there named same should just overwrite the files pardaox has in that same folder under
Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris\prescripted_countries

New default Paradox empires were added and are not removed by your other mod in 3.12+. Just letting you know!

This mod seems to remove empire borders and overall galaxy view seems barren. Im not sure if this was intentional.

I might do anther update on mod sometime soon, make a scenario called test something, where i can try to change stuff to see what happens when make changes to see how or if option changes work before i make changes to all the scenario setups.

I rechecked all the galaxy setups right now they should all just allow .25 to about 6 for total number of hyper-lanes so I re-uploaded it, - for some reason when we make mods we use special path mod folder path that setup by paradox for example

C:\Users\user\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod\ES\map\setup_scenarios

for some reason any mod that I make as a developer and upload to steam that gets placed in the steam common library end up never working but will work for other people who sub scribe to it so its impossible for me to test the mods that i upload to workshop except before they get uploaded and I can only play my own mods using the ones in the setup scenarios folder not in the steam common folder.

but I re uploaded my version on my system to workshop on steam so should be working as its intended as of 04/15/24.

Sorry, only 0.75x and 0.5x are available in vanilla, not 0.25x

There seems to be an issue with Hyperlanes, the Slider only goes from "1x" to "full". Even in a vanilla game I'm able to play with 0.75x, 0.5x and 0.25x.

I tried it with only this mod installed.

Or perhaps I'm just stupid, anyways it would be really nice if you could look into it ^^

you put it in your playset same as all mods off of workshop which is done inside the launcher
then you just setup a new game same as you always do.

You need a fairly decent system for anything above 50000. I have 128 GB DDR 5 RAM and the most I can play is 500,000

Moding game is not hard every one should try it sometime little. I learned by just downloading someone else mod going to where games workshop keeps mod info and then comparing files that are there with what developers have. true trick modding paradox is to remember that you do not need to over write there files, you can take there file and rename it to anything then remove all lines of code and only change line u want to change. game will automatically reconfigure that line change and make that change during loading of game, if you mod game in this way load order does not even matter, because there is no reason for any mod to ever conflict with anther mod ever if moders user there own naming conventions

well its not just number of stars it number of habitable planets that game generates with in those stars for every one also. yets say you have 10 times the pre ftl, and 100 Advance AI and 500 normal AI, and 20 fallen empires and 10 marduers you may need alot of habbitable planets for them all and if you set up system to only generate less habitability planets which you can do let say you set it only generate .10 that be 90 percent less habbitable planets that would been made by default wouldnt matter if you had enough star systems

well 2k star systems if you have to many empires and not enough space between them it can cause crash. and it is possible to do, too many advance which take up bunch, setup to many small empires like 600 of them and then add all other empires like fallen if slap like 8 of them in there or something you can run out of room for empires and they wont be able to spawn in, same if you have to many stars for the radius of map, I do not know what max number of stars can fit into map radius.
