Actually, I've found the origin of the problem before seeing your response.
The pawnkind "CactoidBase" has "Tribal" in apparelTags instead of "Neolithic".

Since it is not a valid tag, the game just tries to equip the pawn with whatever.
That watever likely being a technical dummy or WIP equipement because they have no cost.
(tried the mod with Rimmu-nation and Mechanicus Armory and got minor issues because of that.)

@FL0RENT_ Fixed the hair-texture. Regarding the VFE stuff you should probably ask them about it as I have never used any of it and hardly know what a war-casket is.
The errors are triggered by patches of the inventory-methods and this mod does not change those.

There is a weird conflict with VFE - Pirates where most pawns from the Cactoid tribe generate with incomplete warcaskers and a corrupted inventory.
I've looked into the XMLs of both mods but didn't see anything that could cause that.
The pawns from the cactoid player faction are unaffected.

On an unrelated note, the hair textures "Spines4Darker_north" and "Spines4Darker_south" have black lines on the edge.

FYI, RubbelDieKatz's mod fixes an issue with the Self Dyeing mod that can cause a pawn to endlessly try to change their colors.

I made a patch that allows all hair, beards and tattoos. It was harder to figure out XPATH than to fix this issue. I'll publish it as a separate workshop mod too. https://github.com/Flixbox/AnyHairBeardTattooForCactaceae

Alright, I figured out what I'm doing wrong. Apparently my XPATH is wrong. Now I just need to figure out how to navigate to the styleSettings properly and I can create a patch.

Hmm. I'm currently looking for a patch that would remove the limit for "just" cactoid hair, but just using a PatchOperationRemove for /Defs/AlienRace.ThingDef_AlienRace[defName="Alien_Cactoid"]/alienRace/styleSettings doesn't cut it, it just causes the style station to bug out because it can't find any styles. I looked into how the Revia Race does it, but they apparently don't have any styleSettings. Quite odd. I'll look into it.

Is it possible to remove the need for a hairstyle change? Maybe they could have 2 styles - hair and no hair. Then they could switch between them when they want a hairstyle change.

Could it be that Cactaceae can't change their hair? One of mine wants to change it and I can't select any other hairstyles. There's just one. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

I started a game as a Cactoid Tribe and it straight-up CRASHED. I've never seen "Rimworld" do that, and I suspect that it is not the fault of this Mod.

@William Smith Ive had reports on other mods. As I havent had time to try ideology yet I cant say for sure bu it seems that the races that cannot have beards is causing this.

This may or may not be an actual problem for the mod and it could just be caused by another mod in my loading list, The first time that a cactoid in my colony decided to change her look using the styling station she kept using it to endlessly change her hair. The only way i could get her to stop was to uninstall the styling station and put it in my stockpile.

Ya know I never realized he updated to 1.0
I always ran the B19 mod on my 1.0 games and it worked just fine, except for a very select few outfits would result in the pink box. Nothing hard to work around at all.

This mod is great except for one minor thing, the race always use base Rimworld face rather than added faces (Gloomy face etc). If that could be fixed, this race would be one of the best out there. Would there be any chance of having this fixed?

Sweet. A question - does your update include the basic humanoid patch? I commented on the 1.0 about it a while back - it's a one-line fix if no, putting <humanRecipeImport>true</humanRecipeImport> inside the generalsettings tag will give them basic compatibility with 95% of bionics/surgery mods, EPOE, Rah's, etc.
