Be careful with orientation when spawning it in, as it has no downwards thrusters.

So I'm new to the game, and didn't appreciate the massive differences between thruster types :D I'll keep searching for a suitable ship

@HerpaDerp: Right, so you spawned a ship with ion thrusters on the alien planet and wonder why it crashes...

OK, so I put this on my projector, let the nanites do their stuff overnight and came back to it this morning and noticed the 'stickers' were upside down. Thinking it was a joke I got in the cockpit and sure enough the blood started rushing to my head.

So I spawned another one in and sure enough every time it's spawned in it's upside down. I rotated it 180 and even though the engines are on it crashed to the ground.

Spawned another one in, a little closer to the ground and got in the cockpit to find it's got zero vertical thrust, looked through the control panel, no damage, everything is on.
I'm on the default alien planet so no stupid gravity setting.

Not impressed. Seems a complete waste of materials :(
