Sometimes the simplest mod has the most impact, LPT's having 4k max felt annoying to me with no real benefit.

You know how a 30A circuit in your house needs two 15A breakers to run usually? A double pull breaker I mean? You see, I just installed an instahot water heater and learned all about this. So... this is why I think Klie did this to us. 1k wire = residential 15A, 2k wire = 30A instahot heater that requires two "breakers" (2x small transfomer). 4k = 240v thing for the Tesla charger or whatever?

This all just occurred to me as I was reading your mod description, so I have decided to share it here on your page with just anybody, and with you also I guess. But now I don't know if I want to use your mod or not... I am a simple man too, and now my life is full of confusion and indecision? How could this even be. Also explaining this to the boyfriend has confused us both. Why have a 4kw transformer at all? What is even happening?

Thanks for the mod! Subscribed

simple, easy, and makes sense given the wire options available to us. i don't understand why klei ever gave us 4k to begin with. i can understand 1, 2, 20, and 50. anything else seems like it would just be inefficient invention for the dupes to create or use in their lil worlds. great mod, ty!

thank you is now working again for me. I have a lot of mods so maybe it was conflicting or something. But now I don't need to worry about damaging wires again :-) thanks

@nipodemos sorry for late reply I've been away from modding for awhile, I didn't have any crashes when testing in game with the update and I didn't see any changes to how Klei did the power transformers, but I rebuilt the mod against the current game build and harmony just in case. If it still crashes post some logs and I will take a look.

hey, i currently use your mod in every single playthrough, thank you a lot for this. But unfortunaly, your mod started to crash with the new update Sweet dreams, can you take a look at this when you free? Thank you

if you're still active. i don't know much about modding. but i would love to have a mod that makes it so that the power transformers in the game can scale power up as well and not just downwards. it would make solar power a lot less tedious. i don't really want to put down 500 automation wires just to be able to use solar panels with heavy wires

I believe there is a recolored "medium" transformer mod already that does 2k if thats what you're looking for.

Why not just make a slightly different colored (copy paste, then altered) Transformer and add it to the game, which would then keep the 4k in game?

@FinalDoom, while that does work and isn't hard to setup, it means that you have a battery on the low wattage side of the transformer(s) which allows for infinite instantaneous watts and so you can still get overloads.

For those who wonder about the utility of 4k transformers, there's ways to utilize them even with the lowest wattage wires using shutoffs and automation and smart batteries. The higher wattage transformer means it charges batteries faster and can charge more of them at once. Wires only break if there are consumers on the line greater than its capacity, and batteries don't count as consumers. Check out https://imgur.com/a/rVnLVmJ for example.

There's already mods for 4 kw wires and seperate 2 kw transformers. This mod just adds yet another option, options are great. So is pizza.

Maybe you can increase the power of the wire for better results
TheDigbySniper74 22 Mar, 2020 @ 4:06pm
yeah i dont understand why large transformers give out 4000 watts as there are no wires that hold that amount(less you are using mods)
