I don't think this still works. I cannot get any autosaving to work at all with this mod installed and active.
TurtleShroom 10 Aug, 2024 @ 11:17am
Does this Mod still work in V1.5 ?
babyblue 26 Jun, 2024 @ 5:21am
would there be a way to save by real time intervals instead of in-game time? that would be sooo much better...! :D
[BRN]Jordixxx 14 May, 2024 @ 3:08am
working 1.5?

Also, is it possible to add the world seed to the options? So the users can re-gen the whole world based on the save names.

@Revolus Hi! I've checked the source code and tried to do a patch for it and fixed my issue. I think it's a minor problem so wishing to contact you to update it. The issue is with the function NextName, or more precisely, its call to SaveGameFilesUtility.SavedGameNamedExists. RimSaves is not patching this function, so you actually need to pass a prefix+filename as the input. The prefix in RimSaves is Settings.curFolder + "#§#". So I made a patch to the function SaveGameFilesUtility.SavedGameNamedExists, when it's returning false, further check whether prefix+filename exists, and return. This solves my problem of using both mods together.

@Revolus Thank you for your advice. I've swapped the order of this mod and RimSave, but it's not fixed. Very strange :-(. This is the screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/1GCmyYj

In the 1st screenshot, the file with "-2" in the end is my manual save. I tried to change the ending to see if it will get fixed. (I've changed in the settings from ({index}) to -{index} since the default one was not working and I want to try something different to see if it will be fixed.) The default manual save file name is still -1 even though there are newer files with -2.

In the 2nd screenshot, I've waited for several minutes to trigger an autosave, and the -1 file was overwritten, -2 file was not touched.

Thank you so much for your timely response and patience!

@Pos5, could you try to swap the load order of both mods? They should be compatible with each other. My goes by the oldest file time to select the next index, just like vanilla Rimworld.
Pos 4/5 5 Oct, 2023 @ 9:23am
Hi! I'm using RimSave together this mod, I realized the {index} is always 1 for autosaves. Is it possible to make it incremental? I have set the number of autosaves to be 9 but it didn't help.

Due to faulty RAM or motherboard, my PC often reboots in sudden ways, so this will be essential for me (I'll need it to autosave every 2 minutes or so). Thank you!
Jaydee 20 Sep, 2023 @ 11:26am
It seems to be overwriting the first autosave and not using the save slots. (like it keeps replacing Autosave-1)
pearagon 11 Jul, 2023 @ 7:33pm
Oops, I was not clear enough :) To clarify, the forward slashes in "year/month/day" were not literal "/" characters, I'm just listing year, month, and day as options for potential new tokens. For example, `GenDate` properties like `GenDate.Year`, `GenDate.Quadrum`, etc. could be used as values for {gameYear}, {gameMonth}, {gameDay}.
Revolus  [author] 11 Jul, 2023 @ 4:53pm
@pearagon, sorry, no. Every slash (forward and backward) introduces a subfolder, which is not supported by the game. You can only use names which you could insert manually in the save game dialog.
pearagon 11 Jul, 2023 @ 4:45pm
Could the in game year/month/day also be used? :)
Revolus  [author] 28 Feb, 2023 @ 12:06pm
@ec#2718, it should be compatible if you keep the autosave interval slider on the far left. This should be the default.
ELLIOTTCABLE on Discord 28 Feb, 2023 @ 11:27am
@babyblue @pickpickpickpickpickpickpickpick the mod you're looking for is Real-Time Auto Save .

@Revolus would you be willing to add compatibility with that mod, perhaps, instead of implementing the feature yourself? i.e. simply disable the "Autosave interval in hours" slider if RTAS is installed as well? It'd be great to keep the 'more autosaves' and 'separate autosaves per playthrough' aspects, but I can't give up RTAS with the hours of paused-game planning I tend to do 😅
Malichai 7 Dec, 2022 @ 10:53pm
You are a saint. I have wanted this mod without knowing I wanted this mod for years. Blessings be upon your house.
Arky 1 Dec, 2022 @ 4:30am
How to use this? I set for it to autosave every 3 hours and it keeps rewriting my Autosave-1 instead of looping from 1 to 10
pickpickpickpickpickpickpickpick 2 Nov, 2021 @ 11:50am
@babyblue there is a different mod for the feature you're requesting tho the name escapes me at the moment. I literally subbed to it last night so it's 100% out there, just take a peak.

Also I'm pretty sure it's save game compatible (and also apparently a huge lifesaver) so go lookin!
babyblue 25 Sep, 2021 @ 11:24am
hello revolus, having used your mod for hundreds more hours now, i have grown ever more fond of it. yet one question remains: is there any way to make the autosave interval real time dependend, instead of game time?
babyblue 7 Aug, 2021 @ 5:31am
that does it, thank you so much, also for the speed of reply! /me is a happy puppy! :D
Revolus  [author] 7 Aug, 2021 @ 5:06am
@babyblue, hehe, that's fine by me.

Right now I'm not able to update my mods, but you can manually change the settings:

Open the folder: C:\users\YOURNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config

In there you can find the file Mod_2032167959_MoreAutosaveSlotsMod.xml. Inside of " <hours>…</hours>" you can set any posive integer you like.

Afterswards don't open the in-game settings dialog for More Autosave Slots, or the change will get lost.
babyblue 7 Aug, 2021 @ 4:55am
hi revolus, thank you for this lifesaving mod! now if only i could configure the intervalls freely - 3 hours is way too disruptive, 6 hours is just too long for my liking/playstyle (don't judge me... ;) )...why not let us choose the interval with a one-hour resolution??
Rusturion 23 Jul, 2021 @ 4:20pm
Amazing mod. Never realised I needed this until I was quickly testing something and almost wiped out my colony due to autosave overwrite.
HawnHan 13 Jul, 2021 @ 9:50pm
thanks!
Revolus  [author] 13 Jul, 2021 @ 5:16pm
Updated for 1.2 and 1.3.
Pyrobloom 15 Apr, 2021 @ 4:18pm
sooooooooo 1.2??
ZzZombo 25 Nov, 2020 @ 6:22am
Can't wait for this mod to be updated to Rimworld v1.2.
HawnHan 31 Oct, 2020 @ 11:58pm
@somr You can use Save on Incident to do that.
ELLIOTTCABLE on Discord 19 Oct, 2020 @ 9:58am
Is this compatible with RimSaves? I'm going to guess no, since they both presumably detour the autosave method?
fatburner 6 Sep, 2020 @ 12:48pm
Autosave on event pls!
Revolus  [author] 24 Apr, 2020 @ 6:05pm
Ingame.
Starcluster 24 Apr, 2020 @ 5:54pm
Is the save time setting in real life hours, or in the amount of hours that pass in rimworld?
Revolus  [author] 27 Mar, 2020 @ 3:40pm
@HawnHan, updated. Thank you very much!
HawnHan 27 Mar, 2020 @ 2:08pm
I translated the mod into Simplified Chinese. Please merge it. Github [github.com].
Revolus  [author] 26 Mar, 2020 @ 8:08pm
@HawnHan, thank you very much for your offer! I'll have to look up how to make a mod translatable, but I'll definitely come back to you in the next few days.
HawnHan 26 Mar, 2020 @ 6:33pm
I want to translate this amazing mod into Simplified Chinese.Could you make a translation file?
