@Gazebo

Hi, thank you for this mod!
I didn't change anything, but my Social Policy from Vanilla game. Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance!

A mod in which CS diplomacy works more like in Civ VI would be cool!
angelo378 24 Aug, 2019 @ 5:46am
After I install the mod I can't save games. I mean, I can play if I load the autosave, but I can't save it. Is it incompatible with other mods?

I haven't seen any AI moving their diplomatic units despite them reclaiming the city states as their allies. I also have never seen an AI diplo unt yet in my game
Gazebo  [author] 10 Sep, 2016 @ 8:56am
@daphnir my mod does nothing with that, so that is not a consequence of this mod.
Daphnir 10 Sep, 2016 @ 8:16am
it's work fine but my units can cross water with your mod =/
Daphnir 8 Sep, 2016 @ 10:50am
great it work in multi? do you have the same mod pack without dll for IA? Because community patch doen't work with MPMP. THX
Daphnir 8 Sep, 2016 @ 9:27am
work with more luxuries?

Hi. I'm currently playing this version (No dll) of the mod with the Civ IV Diplomacy mod,a barbarian unlimited XP mod, the less damaged captured city mod, and quite a few upgrades/resource/terrain/ and scout unit adjustments. While playing, when I click on city states, and go to the "diplomatic mission" tab, nothing what appears is the give a gift options from vanilla, but all values are 0. "0 gold for 0 influence, 0 gold for 0 influence," and so on, down the line. I was just wondering if any of these would conflict with the CSD mod (even with no DLL) and if I need to disable them, or if something else would be causing this.

My bad actually, I seem to have been using the vanilla version by mistake
friend cube #1 20 Feb, 2016 @ 6:35pm
This version of the mod hasn't shown the new features in world congress from what I've seen
Mazzini 14 Sep, 2015 @ 1:16pm
Forgive me, Gazebo. I thought CS mod can modify others Mods about city states, but this is not actually a problem. thank you
Gazebo  [author] 13 Sep, 2015 @ 6:47pm
"I don t see them, and only I see are outside the option last citated Mod." Not sure what you are talking about, sorry.
Mazzini 12 Sep, 2015 @ 2:52pm
This is much fine.
I have a question. Do you suppose the Mod to interfiere with others wich mod City States, for example with Historical Spawn Dates it may cause CS to be cancelled from the game. I don t see them, and only I see are outside the option last citated Mod. Do you think it could do that, thank you.

If you are also using the Community Patch, you did download the version of CSD linked on the 'How to Install' page, yes?

So, I'm playing with the DLL version (So I can plop out embassies) and around turn 300 (1400ad) I start spawning 2 Great diplomats every turn... continuously. I take it that is not supposed to happen? I am playing with the community patch and the exploration extended mod.
Gazebo  [author] 17 Feb, 2015 @ 12:34pm
Yes.

I am playing this non dll version (I have another mod that affects the dll) and I don't seem to see the embassy improvement. Does that only come with the dll version?

You should try to make it to where AI (Other than barbarians) will not attack diplomat-related units. Also, try to make them like Great Prophets and missionaries in being able to enter enemy land without open borders. After all, diplomats have almost always had right of way and freedom from attack for messages to go through kingdoms. If this is at all possible.
Gazebo  [author] 8 Jan, 2015 @ 7:09am
The majority of Great People are killed when attacked.* :)
JEELEN 7 Jan, 2015 @ 11:59pm
@Gazebo Great Prophets never are, so that seems a tad bit inconsistent.
Gazebo  [author] 7 Jan, 2015 @ 10:22am
Great people are killed when attacked.
JEELEN 7 Jan, 2015 @ 10:04am
@Gazebo Q: Why was my Great Diplomat killed and not captured? I was about to go recapture him when I read the barbs had killed him...
Gazebo  [author] 15 Dec, 2014 @ 11:58am
You should use the combined mod made by whoward: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=518556
Eonfge 15 Dec, 2014 @ 11:38am
Would Smart AI also conflict with the no-dll version of CSD? That would be quite a bummer since both of them are really cool.
Gazebo  [author] 14 Dec, 2014 @ 4:19pm
Smart AI is a dll mod, so they will conflict.

I found a possibel issue, or something that is at least a bit iffy. On Oval, standard game speed with at difficulty 6, the AI reaches rather high influence levels:

I understand that te AI has some help but this seems rather excessive. No way in hell that I would be able to touch that City State. I run a few other mods, including Smart AI, but nothing that should get in touch with CSD.

Why would have or not having the DLL make a difference?
Gazebo  [author] 11 Jul, 2014 @ 1:29pm
take a look at the slideshow above.
Sir Charles Dewitt 11 Jul, 2014 @ 6:57am
Can you please explain the changed wonders, units, policies in more detail???

It would be very helpful
Gazebo  [author] 12 Jun, 2014 @ 7:36pm
wdurham23,
Sorry you are having problems. I'll take a look at CSD v23 - I haven't seen this problem. In the meantime, are you sure that you are running the latest version of Civ, and have you verified the intergrity of your game cache?

happy to report however ..this mod with no dll works just fine..ha
wdurham23 11 Jun, 2014 @ 5:20pm
ok third attempt ... deleted catche ..which in turn i guess reset all my mods.. again csd with dll only mod activated.. click civ and set up than start game .. and now i just get a straight up crash ..doesnt even load into game now ..again its only your mod csd with dll and world congress and im getting instant crashes when trying to load a new game
wdurham23 11 Jun, 2014 @ 4:40pm
ok i tried the other mod csd with world congress all by it self ..deactivated like 100 mods.. still even the mod by itself ..it does not work... at the start of the game..when it says "choose production" my city is like blocked doent show anything to build and its just blank ..i have bnw all the expantions all other mods are off ...yours is the only one activated ..what is wrong with your mod? or what am i doing wrong with your mod minus the interactions with other mods..just trying to get you mod working alone... i guess is a good start
wdurham23 11 Jun, 2014 @ 2:55pm
ill try this i guess.. cant get your dll csd with civ 5 diplomatic features to work together .. tried your variors dll mod ..doesnt work...followed your directions ..because its not clear ..whats your various dll mod is compatiable with anyway..and like many people who like mods, we have to many to really figure out which are totally compatable but i know your various dll mod doesnt work for me ..the game will run and i have it checked ..but it flaws so hard ..basically to the extent of it just totally ruining both mods

Do you know if it is possible to have multiple Civ UA? The reason I ask is I was playing a Alpha Centauri mod and it seems to me that City-States would represent settlements which are not bound to anyone faction. Using this mode makes sense but it would be nice if all factions had access to Austria's UA to "marry" to simulate a settlement taking on a faction's cause.
Gazebo  [author] 28 Dec, 2013 @ 9:19am
Sapphire: Yes, the great people gifting of diplomats is an unfortunate side-effect of this mod. There is no way to prevent this that I have thus far found, as the diplomatic unit must be considered a great person to use the Merchant AI. I hope to eventually rectify this, however, in the mean-time, this is all I can do.

Which version did you use? I recently nerfed the trade influence bonus significantly to counter the imbalance you noted.
Sapphire Bullets 25 Dec, 2013 @ 5:36pm
Played through most of a game with this mod and it's a pretty neat idea.

One thing though is an issue with one of the modifications to the Patronage tree: The bonus relationships per turn from having a trade route really adds up and I've found it tends to render other relationship boosts from quests or diplomats insignifigant.

If possible, perhaps a flat boost to the resting point of your relationship while you've got a trade route would be a useful alternative.

Also instead of gifting me great people, I've found City States are gifting me diplomats instead. It's kind of a let down, though I appreciate it's probably due to diplomat units being reskinned great merchants.

Haha, well it still blows my mind, no matter how dense I might be!
Gazebo  [author] 20 Dec, 2013 @ 2:11pm
BasedMedic- It has been around for a few years, but thanks for the compliment!
basedmedic 20 Dec, 2013 @ 9:41am
Thank you so much! The state relations are so dull and pointless otherwise, really glad something like this finally came. :balloonicorn:
Gazebo  [author] 17 Dec, 2013 @ 10:31pm
It is probably an incompatibility with another mod. Unfortunately, that is very difficult to diagnose effectively.
BLÀde 17 Dec, 2013 @ 9:52pm
using this mod my game CTD with no warning or error after about 120 turns
Gazebo  [author] 17 Dec, 2013 @ 10:37am
Correct, as one DLL will override the other. This version works with it, however.
BLÀde 17 Dec, 2013 @ 4:06am
so the dll version cant be used with howards dll than?
Gazebo  [author] 16 Dec, 2013 @ 7:55am
Blade: there is a DLL version of this mod – look at my workshop for the CSD - Brave New World v. 11 download (this is the no-DLL version).
Gazebo  [author] 16 Dec, 2013 @ 7:54am
Yes, the only difference is that the AI is much more likely to spread their influence amongst 5-6 city-states (and more intelligently, based on interests) than without it. You might see scenarios where the AI focuses on just 1 or 2 city-states the whole game without the DLL. So the AI is simply a little bit more competitive. Cheers! Glad it works.
lilMobStick 15 Dec, 2013 @ 8:56pm
Many thanks! Works now.
Cheers for quick fix.
One question - Do the AI still use the new units to increase rep with CSs even without the DLL?
