I haven't tried using it yet with the latest Stellaris release version, but ground combat has largely not been changed. The thing that's possibly in question is any effects from the leader changes that has taken place in Stellaris.

I'm pretty eager to hear the experiences of others in using this mod with the current Stellaris release.

Gotta say that I love this mod, but I've got to uninstall for now as it sort of breaks the game where the AI does not create armies at all. My theory is that since the price and upkeep of armies get a lot more expensive, the AI decides not to make any in order to keep it's economy running.

If anyone knows how to fix this that would be great.

I'm currently using the mod with Stellaris v3.8.3 and not seeing any issues. Not sure how it will fair with the changes coming in Stellaris v3.8.4 that effect ground combat some.

Stellaris really needs what this mod offers, and then some.

Would it be possible to implement custom name lists for the new armies? I dont mind custom naming every armored division but it gets a bit tedious

I have a small suggestion. Maybe you could make each army actually named after their respective type (so instead of the deafult "[Planet Name] Army 1", for example armored divisions would be called "1st Armored Division", Valkyrie Gunships as "1st Valkyrie Gunship" and so on and so forth). I'd envision this to be universal, no matter the namelist that is chosen. I think AlphaAsh's "Invasion!" mod actually had something like this, so you can look around there in the files to see how It's coded

@BaconDoneRight - Thanks for the update! I take it there basically was no major change and perhaps just needed to be recertified as Orion 3.6.1 compatible? It now shows in the Stellaris launcher with no warnings/flags.

By the way, I really love using this mod to enhance my military experience in game!

@centralknight2010 - I'm currently using this mod with Stellaris v3.4.4, and haven't seen any issues so far. The mod author, if available, came better testify to that though. Hope this helps you decide to try the mod.

Weird how I can recruit the speacia troops but cant build the buildings required to recruit them lol (troop tech is earlier than building tech)

A big thing to include also would be terrain. That the habitability of an army will impact their performance greatly.

I have the same problem, I think it's a incompatibility mod problem - I tested it- between this mod and any other mod that changes the icons for armies.
This mod changes normal icons (ex: icon = GFX_army_type_imperial to icon_frame = 8). For some reason that change affects ships view in empire customisation.

Armies though is another thing I wish Paradox would overhoal in a big way. Add more dept to it like increasing returns on a balanced army of infantry, tanks and aircraft and the ability to move them around.
Even with this it's mostly still just a matter of picking the most cost efficient army type and just throw units into the meat grinder until you win.

The army battle system needs a complete overhaul with different units working together.

As far as i know AI can use buildings and technologies from your mod but can it also use new armies from your mod?

New update: added specialized jobs to the three new buildings so that produce resources as well as unlocking armies.

One addition I'm hoping for is maybe have space marines. That are deployed from warships and can take over very lightly defended planets without having to use transports.
That way crushing very weak empires is way less of a hassle while still maintaining the relevance of armies against tougher empires.

Hey. I have a small suggestion: Remove the 50% devastation limit that disables FTL-Inhibitors on planets in order to force big ground battles on fortress worlds

Oh definitely, My idea was it would be basically the same if not more expensive stat-wise, basically only there for the RP potential.

I feel like there's a difference between lasers on a corvette large enough for cooling systems assisted by the vacuum of space vs. Miniaturized lasers for personal defense.

Some time ago you said that the AI can use buildings and technologies from your mod but not the new armies themselves. Is this still the case? Is that a difficult/impossible task to implement?
Because also other mods concerning ground combat have this limitation.

Not really. Both this mod and Invasion! modify armies in some fashion; this one halving the damage of all armies, while Invasion seems to increase it, for example. Other than these conflicts, it is possible to use both mods with few problems, at least that I've seen.

It's weird I can only choose what kind of railguns my troops can use. Why not equip them with laser or plasma rifles, am I missing something?
