Anyhow, in similar real life locations with this topography, not everywhere on the shore is going to be able to serve as a port due to the need for deep water. This is also simulated in the map with the placement of the shipping lanes.
They may be covered over, but the tunnels still work. :)
Power to the people!
If you don't have MT so you need to use this vanilla map, no problem. The map theme used for that one ^ is beautiful: Laviante 2.0.
I also like Not So Rocky Hills as another green, temperate looking theme.
If you want to turn it into a sunny, drier California/Mediterranean look, I'm partial to my Levant theme: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1713840122
and you could give it a tropical look with Seychelles https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1230768185
None of those require a mod to change to a different environment. They're all temperate like this map, but transform its look to seem like you're in a totally different environment. :)
The theme in the pics is Laviante 2.0 map theme. It has a high memory requirement, fyi https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1822130121
Alternatives that I use with attractive water colors and have less memory required:
Not So Rocky Hills https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1265037348
Regular Temperate https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1413166176
Temperate Blue Green Water https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=741216169
I've enough stress right now, I don't need maps that are "60%" buildable, but only if you count the vertical parts.
This map makes sense.
Thank you.
