I wonder if anyone with the Into The Rift DLC has tried this mod lately (2024)? Does it still work?

Hi all,
i am very sorry for the lack of updates, unfortunatly i am not sure when i will have time to do them.

If anybody is willing to do the fixes, i would be more than happy to integrate them into the codebase and share credit with that person.

Mod needs a version update, still works, just throws an error when launching the game. Also the icons are still missing.

@Dr.SONG /textures/icons is where the base game stores icons such as those for subsystems.

The icon of C64 and Salvage System is missing. I believe that after the game upgraded, these icon resources in this game changed. I guess putting them in the "textures" folder may help?

@kanadaj Thanks for reporting this @cylek reported similar a while back, and i looked into it and could not reproduce it. However what you describe is slightly different in regards to "that already has smelt scrap" - i'll look some more into it...

@ZeeHtaa permanently installing a refinery that already has smelt scrap on the normal install loses the scrap refinery ability. It doesn't seem to happen if only the permanent install can do scrap.

It means it does what the C43 does, but has some enhancements e.g. the C64 replaces the C43 and can simply be "dropped-in" in it's place.

In other words, no need to use both at the same time, since the one supersedes the other.

@kreeg i do believe that there is no C44 in this mod, the C64 is infact a better version of the C43, as the description states.

I've got a bug report, Permanently installing the Rare level refining system loses the Smelt Scrap bonus. Both levels claim they can smelt scrap when viewed in the system inventory.

Good news everyone !

I've did a minor update to the mod, so it should be functional again out-of-the-box, it was just a version bump, no actual code changes. This should make it work until Avorion 2.0 comes out.

I did a quick'n'dirty test and everything still seems to work 🙂 ...if you find any major bugs, where things break please let me know and i will see if i can find a bit of time to fix it.

I'm sorry i didn't really have time before now to update, but life happens... ¯\_(ツ)_/ ¯

More information. Have 2 refinery chips. The first one fell off a destroyed pirate, when not slotted it only says can smelt scrap under the permanently installed section. The second one was from a research center combining lesser chips, it says can smelt scrap on both the top and bottom section. hope this helps. The second one is the one that wont smelt scrap once permanently installed, however it will when not permanently installed.

Is there an update planned to address the permant installations breaking the refinary systems ability to do scrap. E.G. Can do scrap at non installation then installation even shows ability to do scrap however install removes scrap option even though it was listed ?

I'm unaware if this is intentional, yet to be added, or merely a bug but when I have the ai mine then refine on a loop, it doesn't detect the on board refinery?

So now we can build smal and agile ships with r mining laser, some cargo and refinery system then throw captain, and like 2 miners, and just dump little fella in some nice sector for permanent resource income without any micromenaging?

could you make it possible that the refinery system works with the refining order of the ships so that they are using their own refs if they are equipt with one, but just the onboard system, not to use ships in the same sector which have them, that could end in some troubles.

You could make the speed dependent on Factory power. Then you have to have enough Factory to keep up with your supply chain... Maybe that could take the place of the tax. Thanks for the Mod!

If i have some spare time, i might make an auto-refinery (still got the old code)

Love the refinery systems! Maybe it would be cool to have the regular version, like now, and a passive version that can convert X units of ore/scrap per minute and just refines everything in your hold. Would be awesome for R-Mining AI ships in deep space or enemy territory.

Still, as it is, a huge thumbs up from me!
