@Nelek @ZanderTheMander at different points various things have been said about the inspiration about Gotham. One source claimed that gothem was manhattan above 60th st and metroplis was below, another said Gotham was NYC at night and Metropolis was NYC by day. Others claim not NYC at all but rather Jersey city and Newark, or chicago. Doesn't really matter bc we get what inspired the dark knight's city.

@Nelek no its not. on the DC world Atlas and in other comics, they say it's in New Jersey. plus NYC is in the comics as itself.
