I edited the mod in RPFM to my liking, rather than ask you to do it for me, but there's a few effects I'm not sure about. I can see that they're related to magic, but I'm not sure how exactly. Could you point me to a guide/resource on the effects changed in this mod?

If a guide for all the effects is a hassle, then I'm mainly looking for these specific ones:
wh/wh2_main_lib_aura
These seem to control the swirls around the character when casting, but the name sounds like a main file that would affect much more than that?

wh_main_death/fire/heavens/light/metal/vampires_character_aura
wh2_main_entity_magic_aura_cool/warm
I have no clue what these do, the first don't seem to affect anything when casting, and I'm curious why beasts and waaagh magic aren't there. No clue at all what the cool/warm ones are.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Thank you very much for this. Has quickly become a must have mod for me. The battlefield now looks so clean and realistic. I can finally see! Plus with this, Blob Shadows and BloodPerformancePack, I gain over 20 minimum FPS in big battles.

I still prefer your implementation, it makes spell casting effects look clean, but I would love if you could implement something similar to his mod, where you can still get the full information when targeting spells.

Theres a similar mod to yours on the workshop called Less buff and effect VFX that has a pretty neat implementation. This is copied from his mod description:

In the game spell/ability are in 3 phases :

targeting : When you select the skill and go with you mouse where you want to apply
casting : Period when the caster is incantating the spell, mostly instant for most abilities
activation : Period when the spell/ability is applying the effect, sometime instant

In vanilla it was a mess as you had sometime the big circle and central rune in any phase or not. To have a more immersive and consistent experience without breaking the gameplay, this is how I've done for each phase :

targeting : Same as vanilla, you can have all the information about the range of aera spell/ability
casting : Only the central rune will remain, like the caster is invoking a rune
activation : both are hidden

This is a really good mod, unfortunately it really sucks not being able to aim Net of Amintok or Howling Warpgale because there is no circle. Really great job on the rest tho.

Unfortunately, this interferes with other mods that add VFX effects, like Malus' reskin and the Mixu's effects.

for some reason this mod keeps affecting my game, even when unsubscribed, i am playing vanilla right now and there are no flaming lances, any way I could fix this?

@Volik, These are both movie files that direct the same things for the most part.
So I guess that if you run both packs there's gonna be some weird sh*t happening or 1 file is gonna take over from the other according to load order.
But these 2 will most likely not work together without issues. But I'm no modder so could be that my experience in using mods alone is not enough and I'm totally wrong :D

That's how you know which units are affected. Their outlines light up.

Thanks for this mod! I really liked using it, but I actually couldn't see the AOE of a lot of my spells for some reason so I didn't really know which units they were effecting other than their outlines lighting up. Weirdly it worked on lords but not on units. I have other mods installed so who knows, but I'm actually having trouble reverting the effects back to the default game. I've tried normal stuff like unsubscribing, verifying and reinstalling, but all my effects are still gone :( Do I have to find my effects file or something? Thanks anyway, like I said, still liked the mod

Another point - I think most effect remover mods edit the database to prevent effects from triggering. But this mod (like Hooveric's) works by actually changing the effects files themselves.

So this mod is very stable and compatible, and not sensitive to database changes.

Thanks! This mod edits files that very very few other mods touch, so the load order shouldn't matter that much. But it does load very early, so I wouldn't worry about conflicts.
