BDC Relics: end game robotic limbs and belt item

@vaarelsauce Sorry to necropost, but the limb is because you don't have "matching" legs, it happens with all prosthetics in the game when you're not running at full speed, so you would need to have two matching legs for the limp to go away.

At least i can spend my late game millions of money...
Vaarelsauce 22 Oct, 2023 @ 4:19pm
Loving the mod so far!
But for some reason, having one BDC leg equipped makes my character "hobble", rather than doing a light jog like the rest of my squad.

Thank you for making a great mod.
I have created a Japanese version of this mod and published the page.
If there are any problems, please contact us so i can correct or remove them.

@clh6367 if i were to add crafting recipes i would remove the ability to buy them, and i would make it a horrible nightmare to make them.
also i haven't touched this game in years, with no intent or returning anytime soon.
what's more, these limbs are already in genesis with their own unique way of getting them, i dont know what it is, so enjoy finding it out for yourself.
mayson89 12 Aug, 2022 @ 9:46pm
Can you create blueprints for this item so I can include it with genesis? Would love to have ultra-stacked out end-game characters :)
Dragoneer  [author] 2 Jul, 2022 @ 4:43pm
@tengu all of them spawn in the scraphouse, but not always at them same time
also, im not a genesis developer, you're not meant to have this installed along with genesis
Tengu 1 Jul, 2022 @ 5:53pm
Hello Friend ! I only managed to get one limb in the scraphouse, can you tell me how to find the other one? and will it update?I play genesis + this mod
Dragoneer  [author] 9 Jan, 2022 @ 2:54am
oh those belts were removed in genesis, i didnt originally even want them in this mob, but i dont want to remove them if people are using them
Dyna1One 8 Jan, 2022 @ 7:10pm
Hmm, that might explain it!
Just wanna get my hands on some of those belts haha!
Dragoneer  [author] 8 Jan, 2022 @ 1:36am
@dyna1One
Genesis moves them to somewhere else, i dont know where, but i believe they're not in the scraphouse there
Dyna1One 5 Jan, 2022 @ 3:07pm
@Doc Morbid
Do you have the mod for me that increases the scraphouses' inventory? My game has so many books ect. (I think because of Genesis?) that I have never found any of this mods' items despite importing twice :( Been grinding up to get a good amount of cash but no way to buy them sadface..
Dragoneer  [author] 18 Nov, 2021 @ 3:20pm
@r3xm0rt1s
the belt items is indeed only a lantern icon, it doesnt light up because that would in fact nullify the usefullness in stealth

@Doc Morbid
in order to make them craftable i would need to re-learn how to do modding proper first of all, and if i did that, i would make them require a long list of non-purchasable items.
you mention needing 100 robotics parts and 500 electrical components? HAH! what do you take me for?! it would take power cores, capacitors, generator cores, AI cores, and lots, and i do mean LOTS of titanium, which i would add as a custom material that would take your people literal real life hours to get enough of for just 1 limb!
i might up the spawn quantity of the limbs if i ever get into kenshi again, which i might in coupela months, but it's no promise.
Doc Morbid 2 Nov, 2021 @ 8:06pm
So, in brief, if the limbs at least were blueprinted to be crafted by player faction, you'd at least be able to get them, EVER, because if the masterwork ones are worth millions of cats, they'll never appear in the Scraphouse inventory.

I don't care if the blueprint cost BILLIONS of cats, I don't care if the crafting takes 100 robotics parts and 500 electrical components and 100 hours on the bench (and frankly, it's not THAT good)... it'd at least make it so I can have one of the legs. Or two, ideally.

Also regarding game mechanics, endgame arms should NOT modify Dexterity, because if you naturally have 100, 125 or 150 will mess with your dodge possibilities, as it buffer overflows somewhere around 110 and acts as if you have 0, as far as I know. Crossbows and Theivery can get into the thousands without such problems, because over 100 means any penalties are negated.
Doc Morbid 2 Nov, 2021 @ 8:00pm
The main problem with making this not available to craft yourself, or at least the limbs, is that the Scraphouse doesn't have much inventory to start with, and anything that modifies the inventory without modifying how much net worth the Scraphouse is supposed to have basically makes it so anything added will never spawn as a sale item.

I'm playing Genesis right now, WITH a mod that increases the Scraphouse guy's inventory (his name's Quin in my game, don't know if that's universal), and there's ONE of the legs in his shop inventory, and it's just high grade. Actual endgame, you don't want anything that isn't masterwork.

I'm certainly not alone in wanting to see something like this craftable. I hope this brief explanation of game mechanics and other such things would explain why people want to just have a blueprint. It's annoying as hell to want to actually be able to use something you got in a mod, and then it's just never at the one vendor it's supposed to be at.
Starkiller 29 Oct, 2021 @ 4:57am
Tip: The belt item is just a lantern in icon and slot-wise. It does not produce light.
r3xm0rt1s 10 Oct, 2021 @ 3:01am
The belt item looks pretty nice in stats, but will it fuck up my stealth by lighting up my character and surroundings, or is that lantern thing just its inventory icon? Even 100 stealth is functionally useless in bright light.
Ibram Gaunt 30 Aug, 2021 @ 2:59am
Here's a better idea: Why not have some inferior grade limbs in the ashlands as loot? Call them the prototypes. And perhaps a lantern or two. Or more, the damn things are heavy as fuck and even a light thief would have a devil's time carrying them out without the weight fucking up his stealth to the point that even wearing one would give him no aid.
Dragoneer  [author] 22 Aug, 2021 @ 5:01am
no, i will not do that, as they currently are, (spare the lantern) they feel balanced to me
you are forced to have a proper economy going to be able to afford them, making them any more expensive would make people want to cheat them in, because it would simply take too long to get them.
it IS still a game afterall, it's meant to be fun, and just sitting around, waiting literally days, and running around the map, going between the same vendors constantly to earn enough money for 1 limb wouldnt be fun.
if i make them craftable, i promise you, you will regret making me do that, because it's either only craftable, or only buyable, i will not allow both.
and i will NOT make them lootable, not even in the ashlands.
the reason is simple: even if i gave the lantern to only cat-lon, all you need to do is train 1 skeleton in stealth, and JUST stealth, rush into the ashlands without even a bit of cloth on your back, and just steal it.
Ibram Gaunt 22 Aug, 2021 @ 3:34am
What I would reccomend is that you add blueprints for them but make them insanely expensive (Not just because there's only a few copies, but also these limbs becoming common in circulation would seriously screw the Skeletons' plans for humanity, and so they'd best be priced out of reach of even Emperor Tengu himself.), and then add them to the vendor list. I'd say 5,000,000c each for the arms and legs, and 10,000,000 to 25,000,000 for the lanterns.
But for an added bonus, have them able to be found in the ashlands, because that place is really lacking in amazing tech despite it being the bedtime story of every Tech Hunter, their holy grail, and this will be like finding a fountain of youth or even a working starship.
Dragoneer  [author] 2 Jul, 2021 @ 6:28am
if you're playing with genesis installed, the i dont know where to find the limbs
the location on where to find them, prices, and stats on them have been altered to fit better in the genesis mod, while this mod on it's own is balanced around being the ultimate end-game vanilla limbs.
if you want to know, ask on the genesis page, not here, i'm not a developer of the genesis mod.
Hampton Inn. 2 Jul, 2021 @ 4:00am
Where i can find these limbs? I am following on this mode, and following on genesis...
I am going to Dead Earth but i find nothing here.
Dragoneer  [author] 17 May, 2021 @ 3:17pm
these limbs were from before the collapse of the first empire, they are so advanced in materials and tech that while the more fancy functions are disabled, they still just work after all this time.
all lore on these limbs was lost through time, only cat-lon himself would possibly know anything, but he's gone a little mad.

there's no lore on them in-game, i planned on having quin say a thing or 2 about them if you asked, but adding dialogue to NPC's in the game is and was a little out of my range of skill, since the modding menu to do so was a bit too confusing for me, but for the most part he would mention that these limbs are older than even he is, and that he doesn't remember much about where they've come from.

BDC is a company i made up, and when i play games where i can automate things i brand it BDC for funsies, pretending i'm just 1 of the employees of that mega company
saint7515 15 May, 2021 @ 1:56am
Introduced to this mod via Genesis; absolutely stellar models and implementation, even if the overhall stats are bonkers. Plus I love the mystery. Is there a book or something that might tell/hint at the BDC origin story? I would love to know what the acronym stand for at least :D
Dragoneer  [author] 1 May, 2021 @ 4:27pm
i asked about it, and my limbs were indeed balanced around other limbs added into the genesis pack, which is why my limbs have such absurd stats, since my limbs are intended to be the ultimate balanced limbs
also, for you and anyone else who disagrees with the stat changes of my limbs added to the genesis mod, please keep in mind that i am merely a contributor, i am not a developer of the genesis mod, so feedback and complaints should be posted on the genesis feedback page, not on the pages of the original mods.
Dragoneer  [author] 1 May, 2021 @ 4:13pm
interesting, the stays of my limbs were intended to actually be nerfed slightly compared to what they are now
ill have a chat and see if that was intended or not
it COULD be because jewy's prostetics limbs mod was added too, and that mod adds recoloured versions of normal limbs with absolutely insane stats, so maybe they decided to balance them to be end game tier against those limbs
Kiefy 1 May, 2021 @ 3:50pm
Having looked up a guide how to edit mods, i can confirm to you that they are in Genesis and the stat line is wildly different It might be worth approaching the person who you gave permissions to include it in genesis and ask why these prosthetics had thier stat line change from 'end game prosthetics' to 'dev prosthetics'
Kiefy 1 May, 2021 @ 3:41pm
That is the Specialist varient, not even masterwork i forgot to add
Kiefy 1 May, 2021 @ 3:41pm
Do you know if these got incorporated into Genesis and had the stats changed, as that is the only 'real content' mod i have enabled in my mod list? I found Quin selling them but the stats were bonkers insane compared to what you have them listed here as which is vastly more balanced than the modified stats.
Arm:
+72% Crossbows
+72% Lockpicking
+72% Thievery
+72% Dexterity
+72% Strength
+2% Swimming
+5 Unarmed
Dragoneer  [author] 19 Apr, 2021 @ 3:02am
it's neither of those
it's not a faction that exists inside of kenshi, it's meant to be something from offworld, long forgotten, from before even the first empire

Bad Dragon Company makes prosthetics now? Neat.

Oka oka
Thx for answering, Dont worry about the late reply
I will just use it for inspiration then, <3
Dragoneer  [author] 7 Dec, 2020 @ 10:56pm
sorry for the slow reply
but no, i would rather not have someone else use the BDC brand itself, i'm fine with mods inspired by mine, but i dont want others to use the brand unles they specifically know what it actually stands for and the lore behind them. lore that i havent added to my mods themselves, since it's meant to have been lost through time.
MHKH The Slime 1 Dec, 2020 @ 11:48am
Hey Dragonner, I am making a mod called "BDC Expanded", I am still in the super early stages of making it, but i was wondering if could use your mod as a guideline, mostly the Limbs, Like i am planning to add BDC Warrior series etc. a better version of the limbs that your mod provides, as well as a new set of armour and weapons, etc
Dragoneer  [author] 10 Nov, 2020 @ 3:31pm
what i would personally do is actually carry enough grog/sake with me, so that when i buy 1 of the limbs, i sell grog to get all my money back
i dont intend to make a mod to give Quin more money, no
Nakaris 9 Nov, 2020 @ 10:26pm
Absolute fine with the extrem high price to balance this ..... BUT it becomes a little bit ridicoulose if you cant get the cats togehter if the trader who is selling has only 25 k on his own.

Can you make maybe a follow uo mod and give Quin a lot more money so i can finaly buy the limbs ?
Dragoneer  [author] 1 Jul, 2020 @ 11:24am
i could, but i don't really want to. it would take quite a bit of time to set it all up, especially since i haven't played kenshi in quite a while
Unaya_the_Shadowkeeper 29 Jun, 2020 @ 12:11am
could you maybe make a follow up mod that adds the brutal blueprint you were thinking off so the people wanting to dable into that kind of building have the chance?
ProminAnce™ 23 Jun, 2020 @ 12:34am
A big oof on my side then, thanks for the answer.
Dragoneer  [author] 22 Jun, 2020 @ 12:55pm
it's absolutely possible, but due to the hidden lore of these limbs, i intentionally didn't make them craftable, and even if i did, i promise you, you WILL prefer traveling miles and spending millions, because the crafting recipes i had in mind are BRUTAL.
if you're asking me to explain HOW to make them craftable though, sorry, i'm bad at explaining detailed stuff, i would have to turn this mod page into like... half a book worht of explaining :P
best to try the kenshi discord and ask modders there how to make it craftable.
ProminAnce™ 19 Jun, 2020 @ 10:44am
Hello Dragoneer, is there a way to make these limbs craftable or researchable in the FCS for personal use? I really like the limb models but I don't want to have to travel and spend millions to have them on my characters. My knowledge on modding is very basic so the most I know is how to edit the OP stats on this mod to a more fair level on my part.
:>> 15 May, 2020 @ 1:29pm
ah, he just hadn't restocked them yet.
Dragoneer  [author] 14 May, 2020 @ 2:26pm
buddy, pal, friend, not just 1, but hundreds of ideas of what could cause that.
ima need you to give me details friend, all you tell me is: it broke, why broke?
though ima not leave you hanging; quin restocks his shop every 48 in-game hours if you're not in the scraphouse. when you install a mod that adds items to shops, either import the game to force-restock all shops in the game, or wait at LEAST 48 in-game hours (2 days) before visiting said shops.
installing a mod won't force-restock shops, you gotta wait for that to happen or force it by importing.
:>> 14 May, 2020 @ 7:58am
For some reason quin does not have them in his inventory, any idea what could cause this?
Atlas 10 May, 2020 @ 2:01pm
Hey dragon! Would it be alright to include your mod in the overhaul? If you want message me on discord @ Atlas#8060 to discuss if you would like. (or just @ me in the community channels)

state values?
i'm afraid i dont understand what type of values you're referring to
but you could always just edit whatever you like in the FCS for personal use.
