Got these mods to work with LWOTC but in a funky combination,
To get all to work I have used
LWOTC A Better Rookie, The Second wave remastered mods interfere with it so make sure they’re not activated,
LW A Better Arsenal with More Interesting Chosen Weapons.
LW A Better Start.

This MOD works.
You just have to be willing to read and test something.
It is in many comments to "[LWOTC] A Better " MODs how it works.
And that the "Rookies are crap" ... what did you expect. This is Long War if the MODs are not installed correctly and accordingly do not work you just have such rookies. So is standard Long War.

So I tried this mod and it does not seem to work. Rookies are crap and the other stats are meh too.

For me it seems like all items from WoTC are not really treated correctly.
But this can be easily adjusted in an hour or two.
Has something to do with the fact that some things in LWoTC are found under 2 categories

BullPup and Vector e.g.
[XComGame.X2Item_XpackWeapons] and
[LW_WeaponsAndArmor.X2Item_FactionWeapons]

The author merged them into one so they don't work under the wrong category.

I just put the XComGameData_WeaponData.ini from LWoTC and the same ini from LWOTC_ABetterArsenal(LITE) next to each other and went through it from top to bottom.

Everything looks right to me now. Except for the BeamGrenade Launcher that does not work properly for me even without ABA.

My current Ini of the Lite version I have stored at Pastebin. Is also quite easy to switch to full if you want that.

As of December 23 2021, this mod does not work with the Workshop release of LWOTC.

Hi Steve,
Would you be able to help, for some reason whole A Better Collection is not turning on with LWOTC.
Is there a way to fix this? I have tried both Workshop installation and Local Files Installation and none worked, I still receive classic 3 shot Assault Rifles as normal.
Is it because mod is maybe not updated to latest version of LWOTC? I really love your mods in base game so it would be nice to have them in LWOTC

This mod was made by some of the better modders out there in the community. This mod is much better than others of it's kind that mod weapons/armor base stats.

I think I found the issue with Psi abilities not buffing and the possible issue with the chosen weapons not buffing. If you have experienced issues with not seeing expected buffs give this new version a try.

Search for:

there we can Set Basedamage for the Tiers!?

The chosen weapons are a bit buried. First you have to know the exact name of the weapon, for example the Reaper's gun is the Vektor Rifle. Darn thing about that specific weapon is that I could not for the life of me get my mods to buff that weapon to take. They are pulling the stats for that gun someplace else. I could be confusing the gun the reaper gets by default and the gun the actual vektor rifle you get as a Chosen reward. LW2 folks could have also decided to take them out of the game. I'll poke at the files again to see if I am missing something obvious (I probably am).

Thanks for the feedback. I actually left the PsiAmp stuff untouched but still left them in the config. I have bad luck messing with the Psi abilities and when I saw LW folks nulled them out I figured it was for good reason. Knowing that you put that back in without issue I look at an update with that change.

Love your mods! I appreciate the work you put in to make these.

I wasn't getting any damage with my psionic abilities and I looked in the config and you left in !PsiAmpT1_AbilityDamage=() above both T1 and T2 psiamps. I commented them out and now I am getting damage. Just an FYI.

Strangely the aim bonus only applies to the base weapons, not modded ones that use the same type. Would have been fun to use. But I don''t know how modding works.
