I've had this mod active for awhile, and finally got around doing a vassal game in the Kingdom of France (1066 start). I've tried to look for it in the factions window, but I cannot find where I can start my own "powerful vassal" faction.

I'm the top vassal in the realm tree, so it should be there.

do you think you can make the mod add a loyalist focus or another mod about this
LordMidas™  [author] 28 Mar, 2022 @ 6:07am
@ThatOneCelt: No I did not make it for CK3 yet. I am busy modding other games right now, I may do CK3 modding at some point.
ThatOneCelt 16 Mar, 2022 @ 4:22am
Does this mod exist for ck3 ?
finnbtd 15 Sep, 2021 @ 12:58pm
Using HIP (and a plethora of other mods), I had six powerful vassal factions.
LordMidas™  [author] 16 May, 2021 @ 1:02pm
@w296131063: The powerful vassals are chosen based on the same criteria that base CK2 uses for determining powerful vassals for council positions. I think this is based on "realm size", and not military size. So, I believe that the two vassals with the largest realm sizes will be able to create factions.
LordMidas™  [author] 16 May, 2021 @ 1:01pm
@NU-DOG: The wars from the faction will create truces and they cannot be declared on people the attacker has truces with. You may be referring to a situation where the truce is with a vassal and not with the liege, in which case the war can be declared on the liege for the titles of the character the attacker has truce with. This is a problem with how CK2 handles war declarations and probably there are other mods which change this interaction. I hope I understood your problem correctly and have given a useful answer.
w296131063 16 May, 2021 @ 10:16am
I love this mod! But one thing I'm rather confused about is how the powerful Vassals are chosen? I play as a duke and at first I was able to create factions, but then two other dukes who were able to create power factions, I can't created faction anymore, but I clearly had more troops than them, so it's not just based on strength to decide who is eligible to create a power faction? And what are the criteria? Thank you very much!
GODOG 13 May, 2021 @ 7:32pm
Biggest issue is that the power factions seem to have no truce limits on wars. My poor tributary got attacked 3 times by the same empire back to back since the truce of the liege didn't apply for them
LordMidas™  [author] 29 Jul, 2020 @ 9:09am
@Zenmori: Yes that is working as intended. At every faction meeting the total stewardship score of the faction members is calculated and based on this score a chance is calculated for a faction trade route to be established. The higher the score, the higher the chance. If you have no faction member, then there is no chance for a faction trade route. So either the stewardship score of your faction members is very low, which causes the chance to be very low or you have had a sequence of unlucky years.
LordMidas™  [author] 29 Jul, 2020 @ 9:08am
@Bad Horse: In principle, yes, it should be compatible, but I have not tested it.
Zenmori 28 Jul, 2020 @ 5:14am
How do I suceed in the prosperity focus? I've set the goal of establishing a faction trade route, but there doesn't seem to be any way of making that happen. All I get is the yearly popup to continue the work or abandon it. Is this working as intended?
Bad Horse 27 Jul, 2020 @ 1:08pm
Is this compatible with total conversion mods, like Elder Kings and After The End?
LordMidas™  [author] 6 Jul, 2020 @ 1:23pm
@Vierakun: This mod has nothing to do with revolts against the liege. In fact, the factions that it adds cannot declare war on their liege (in all the versions so far). However, just to confirm, could you please provide the following information:
1. Are you using other mods?
2. What is the name of the faction that is declaring war on you?
Vierakun 5 Jul, 2020 @ 11:37pm
For reference, what it's doing is that if a faction gets too high in interest, they spam the hell out of their demands to me immediately, and if I decline, guaranteed war. It basically trapped my playtough. I was a duke, and my most powerful vassal had twice the troops I did. I was a young girl under regency, with no money or army, so I obviously couldn't face him or stop him. Even though the king declared realm peace, the vassal declared war on me constantly! And each time, the war was immediately ended because of realm peace, but that didn't stop them from declaring again a few weeks later while the realm peace was still enforced. By the time I gave up on the playthough, he we had declared war on me 16 times (literally on to the 16th revolt war) in the span of almost 2 in game years. I even arranged a betrothal between my sister and the vassal's son with a non-aggressive pact. No effect; they continued to declare war on me non-stop.
Vierakun 5 Jul, 2020 @ 11:37pm
Question...I had this mod enabled when I started my playthough, but very early on disabled it. I feel like the game is treating it it like it's still enabled. My vassals are ANNOYING and I can't stop it, making me think the save is still using it. Please read my next comment and let me know if this is the mod causing my issues , thank you!
LordMidas™  [author] 1 Jul, 2020 @ 5:45am
@Johan Liebert: That shouldn't happen. The vassal can only make that demand IF a close family member or spouse of the vassal is a prisoner of the liege. Could you check again if any of your prisoners are somehow related to the vassal? If yes, then I could check the code to see why the mod doesn't consider them close relatives.
Stephan the Pelted 22 Jun, 2020 @ 8:48am
Not sure if this is new or not, my powerful vassal faction had been spammy about his 'demands' to have his family freed despite not having any being imprisoned by me... Tried to 'release them' but no one gets released (of course they dont coz they are not his family).. Is this a confirmed bug?
LordMidas™  [author] 19 Jun, 2020 @ 4:30am
@Sullivas: No. The faction counts as a "normal" faction and hence the liege will get the negative opinion modifiers.
Sullivas 18 Jun, 2020 @ 8:23pm
Does this remove the opinion modifier of a liege not liking his vassals in a faction?
Bullet 15 Jun, 2020 @ 6:57am
@LordMidas™ Thanks
LordMidas™  [author] 8 Jun, 2020 @ 3:16am
Updated. Now the liege has an option to refuse the powerful vassal from demanding a council position for the next 5 years. The update is save friendly.
LordMidas™  [author] 6 Jun, 2020 @ 4:21pm
Alright. I will push an update soon to make it better. I think I will add an option that you can refuse the powerful vassal to not ask you for several years at the cost of a bigger negative opinion.
Stephan the Pelted 6 Jun, 2020 @ 9:17am
Agreed with Coffee's comments, powerful vassals request position far too frequently, like 5 times in 3 years is just too much
mmm...coffee...YUM! 30 May, 2020 @ 9:18am
Really good mod. I agree though that the vassels request council position way too frequently. Maybe if refused, then it doubles time when they can next request. Or make some parameter they must meet in order to request.
挂鱼 27 May, 2020 @ 8:48pm
Wonderful mod!!! But I still have one question:How to refuse the request for member for the next several years? The vassal asked too frequently.
LordMidas™  [author] 4 May, 2020 @ 11:31pm
Just for clarification: the Oust Foreigners and Oust Infidels CB are now not usable against:
1. Any mercenary company
2. Holy orders of the faction leader's religion group
LordMidas™  [author] 4 May, 2020 @ 2:53pm
@Corona: No that should not happen. I have updated the mod and now these casus belli should no longer be available against mercenaries or holy orders of the faction leader's religion group. Please refer to the Change Notes for all the changes. The update is save-friendly.
Stephan the Pelted 4 May, 2020 @ 3:59am
Is it intended that powerful vassal factions would target vassal mercenary groups to oust them from the realm? Currently my varangian guard is attacked by my vassal and I suspect holy orders would have the same issue as well.
Alarez 22 Apr, 2020 @ 10:28pm
no problem, i will send you them after i reinstal the game (my disc D got burned some time ago)
LordMidas™  [author] 22 Apr, 2020 @ 12:29pm
@Alarez: That is very strange. Maybe there is some incompatibility with Warcraft GoA, but there shouldn't be. If you can create the Faction you should immediately get the event to set the focus for it etc. Could you please add me on Steam and show me some screenshots etc?
Alarez 22 Apr, 2020 @ 5:43am
i mean, i can create "powerful faction", but i have no options to do anything at all
LordMidas™  [author] 21 Apr, 2020 @ 10:00am
@Alarez: I don't know if the Warcraft GoA mod disables factions or not. If factions are disabled then this mod won't work.
Alarez 21 Apr, 2020 @ 7:36am
it's a pit, because this mod doesn't even work in my game.(i'm using only Warcraft GoA mod)
ᴀʙᴄᴛᴘᴀ 19 Apr, 2020 @ 5:42am
LordMidas Do you have any empty slot in your friendlist? I have an important question for you. My Lord.
LordMidas™  [author] 14 Apr, 2020 @ 5:06am
Have pushed quickfix. The prestige and piety costs for the faction casus belli should now work properly.
LordMidas™  [author] 13 Apr, 2020 @ 9:49pm
Have updated with some fixes. Please see the Change Notes for details.

@AlternativeZeta: The focus can be changed after 10 years. If no more goals are available in that focus, then you have to wait until the 10 years are finished. The Attack Neighboring Realm goal has a 10 year cooldown after declaring the war, so if you declare a war using that goal, you cannot take that goal again for the next 10 years.
AlternativeZeta 13 Apr, 2020 @ 3:39pm
is it possible to change the focus? It seems the attacking neighbour goal only could be used in 1 time.
LordMidas™  [author] 13 Apr, 2020 @ 4:09am
I have updated the mod with some balance changes. Please refer to the Change Notes for details.

@ᛏ 𝔸𝕍𝔼 ᛏ: This faction is considered a normal "faction" for all intents and purposes except that it won't cause a rebellion. The leader can start another faction and can join other factions as well.

@Orlais: Thank you for your kind words. I have added a direct download link to the description of the mod. Please note that if you use the direct download then whenever I update the mod, you will have to download it again to get the latest version, so I suggest that you stay subscribed to the thread to get notifications of updates.
AVE 13 Apr, 2020 @ 2:35am
Can the vassal also join/start another faction or does becoming a powerful vassal exclude you from the chance to join/start a faction
Orlais 12 Apr, 2020 @ 4:32pm
I love your mods but could I trouble you for a direct download? The workshop is a pain. Thanks for your hard work :D
LordMidas™  [author] 12 Apr, 2020 @ 9:30am
@metaluis90 and GREGi: Thank you for the input. I will balance it in the next update.
LordMidas™  [author] 12 Apr, 2020 @ 9:29am
@MuffinMann42: I believe someone else made a mod like that a long time ago. It should be on the Workshop somewhere. I, personally, don't plan on making any mod like that in the near future, especially because I believe it messes with the AI decision making a lot.
GREGi 12 Apr, 2020 @ 8:55am
I second mataluis90 ... 150 years in the game and the large realms are on the roll (for example its the first time I see HRE formed by second generation ruler and rolling over the rest of Europe - and I enjoy it luckily) although it might be just coincidence.

Needless to say, great mod that really ads a little bit of a challenge and fun to managing larger realms. This and others mods you are creating are really great addition to the game!
YuK_metaluis90 10 Apr, 2020 @ 11:09am
Great mod, but could you tone down the factions aiming foreign kingdoms? Having played for 150 years with your mod I think they destroy the balance of the game. In my opinion they should aim, primordially to grow their influence inside the kingdom, which they do, but more often than not you find small kingdom like Navarra, Croatia and such, be obliterated by the factions of the HRE, ERE, and such.
Solitude 10 Apr, 2020 @ 6:15am
You are killing it with these mods <3
Pokesus 8 Apr, 2020 @ 7:40am
OH MYYYYY Lately im seeing a fucking ton of high quality mods!!! :O
Today i searched in Workshop and this mod don't have starts, weird, it deserves five! :D
Is awesome how the people start doing high-quality mods st the same time! ;DDD
Axis1211 7 Apr, 2020 @ 5:37pm
So I don't know how to do this myself but it sounds in line with the mods you make.
What if you made a mod that makes it so feudal lieges can ask their vassals to join wars, Feudal vassals are already able to offer to join but why not make it both ways?
Obviously there would need to be some balancing so it wouldn't make Feudal completely OP But I think it would be cool
LordMidas™  [author] 7 Apr, 2020 @ 2:14pm
@GREGi: Currently all non-nomadic people can form these factions (the liege has to be non-nomadic too). I may change this in the future. Also, I am planning on restricting the eligibility of some goals to some people (e.g. unreformed pagans should not have access to the Faction Assisted Holy War CB).
GREGi 7 Apr, 2020 @ 11:23am
Is this only for feudal or for other gov types (be it imperial, republic or other) too ?
Nice job by the way ...
