In the end it ended up probably being an issue with the range value if you buff it past certain point. Which I could not determine I have a mining laser that’s 11 km auto shooting and then I have one that’s 9 and one that’s 43 and one that’s 112 and from those three only the 112 auto-aims and shoots asteroids but 43 and 9 are not and I do think it has something to do with the range values or salvaging lasers I have one that’s targets closest targets and it has range of some 30km then I have a second one that’s like 43km range and it either does not fire at all or it fires at what seems to be the “furthest” away wreck instead of joining the other salv laser there’s something rotten about their auto aim implementation and it’s not fully integrated with a foolproof api I think it should not be an issue as long as the range is positive number

So, I just tested it, and they do seem to auto target stuff.

But you can just add the values of these turrets to the normal mining/salvaging lasers. These turrets are just modified versions of the normal lasers.

i think all of these mods that add unique weapontypes is the problem i cant seem to get any of these modded salvaging lasers to auto target wreckages while buffinf default salvager range works well i think the auto targeting depends on the weapon type as well. is there a way to switch the weapon type to the default SalvagingLaser right before it gets generated?

I've seen that happen too, but honestly I have no idea why it's happening. These turrets are essentially just beefed variants of their normal counterparts. I'm assuming it's something with the targeting ai, but I haven't tried just modifying the standard ones with additional range to see if it happens with them too.

so in short, I have no idea why it happens :/

I have noticed that turrets ignore asteroids and salvage quite often and than i gotta go manually collect them

Not a bad idea with the range tied to material. I, however, wouldn't know how to implement this. I'm a terrible coder after all :p

Might see if I can make it so they only drop in naonite regions and later.

Hi, I noticed that these salvage lasers are terribly overpowered for fighting, specially at iron and titanium zones where there are no enemies with shields.
I was thinking about it and maybe a solution would be to tie their range with the material of the turret? So iron and titanium lasers cant insta delete every enemy from like 9 km away, but high tier lasers dont see much of a nerf.
Or maybe just prevent these turrets from dropping and spawning at stations before naonite/trinium, or make them a very rare item?

I don't know if the raw only mod actually works as intended with this mod. I don't actually know the code of that mod and even then, I'm a terrible coder, so I probably wouldn't be able to decipher its meaning anyway :x

hey not sure why but im now only getting standard strip miners, I have that Laz guys raw only laser mod running, worked fine on last server but i cant seem to get R strip lasers to spawn now,

havent tried that, this wasnt as important as the other mods that i preferred over this, sorry cant help more. i just havent encountered the situation i had since deactivating it. not sure what others were interacting to such as it would just crash when enemies were encountered, i do recall that it was likely due to the "status" that you can put "autoturrets" which is something i did notice happened to make it crash.

enemies enter screen, turrets are set to autofire, change the setting to defensive, and it crashed. that was the one specific situation i did notice that made it close

when you try to research 3 or more of either of these (salvage or mining lasers) they become a random other weapon (usually a chaingun in most circumstances) So you can't say upgrade some White quality of these to green then next one up, etc, etc. You'll need to find new ones of the new type of resource in order to make it so that you can still use them efficiently on higher material tier asteroids and ships.

If you just want to test, you can use the dev tools to drop in turrets. Built turrets, from turret factories, tend to be better, so if you're building them there, the stats could be better than randoms.

no worries. was hoping this was something that might have been asked before. I was using it to see if I could build a strip miner and see if the mod built on was better than the rando version in the stores.

hmm. man i could swear these had way more dps on my last server setup :( The salvagers seem fine, but my entire mining stuff just seems way lower overall. Well, im gonna wipe all mods/seed and reboot the server and see if maybe i had some kind of weird mod/config issue somewhere.

On a side note. There is a Turret builder out there but for some reason it doesn't see mod turrets. Would you know if mods like this need to have a special entry somewhere in order for that to work? {workshopid = "2615031730"}, -- Eigene Gesch�tze V

I just tested without the detailed turret tooltips, and near the starting sector my stripminers had about 20-30 dps and normal mining lasers 3-4 dps. So it's working as intended.

for example, your iron strip miner dps/slot. mine would be like 30.2 or something low like that. a normal core game miner would be like 3.4

to be honest, all of the miners dps (game and mods) seems to be oddly low. is it possible a server setting controls this somehow? Ive used all of the mods on other worlds before so im not sure why im seeing much lower numbers overall.

Seems to be working... tho I can't remember if the images was taken with the mod "detailed turret tooltips". Might cange how the values for the mining lasers are shown.

Hmm... I think they should just have double the dps of their normal counterparts. If that is the case, then the mod should be working. But I'll check later just in case.

Drazhill I am not seeing very many if any at all of the stripminers with the level of damage shown in your image. Does the Difficulty setting affect the damage of your lasers?
Ive only got 1 other mining Mod and it just affects the range as best as i can tell. Ive tried both the combo mod and the individual mods as a test and its the same with each. Any thoughts?

I just checked the starting zone equipment dock but each time I turned a mod off for testing I would start a new game so the equipment dock is different each time. As for the mod list, its a bit long lol.

Afraid I do not. I use quit e afew mods myself, and I have had no issue so far. Can you give me a list of your mods? I'll see if I can find anything then.

Also, is it every equipment dock or just some?

Yea the equipment docks have the issue. It probably is a mod issue but it was working and then with no mod changes this issue came up. Checked mods 1 by 1 and this was the mod that was doing it. Do you know of any mod conflicts with this one?

I've been using the mod myself with no problem, and I just did a fly through of the galaxy visiting different docks, and they all had turrets.

Is it also a problem if you only run with this mod? Could maybe be a compatibility issue with other mods?

Dunno why but this mod was working fine then all of a sudden its making equipment dealers have little to no turrets.

hmm... they shouldn't be any more common than their normal varients. I for one rarely ever see more than 1-2 of them at the same time. Also I'll have to be honest, I wouldn't know how to do that. I'll see if it's straight forward and won't mess with other mod compatebility, though I wouldn't get my hopes up, sorry
