Everything works. It's an interesting civ in that it allows you to play much wider than usual, even without Liberty. Grape Arbor adds extra growth and appears already in the Ancient Era, so even if you go for Tradition, you will still benefit from the UA when you start to expand through war or settlers. Altaic Riders are extremely fast Horsemen that are a blast to play with. One or two riders add mobility and versatility to your army. Grade: A.

Could you make a civ 6 version?

Good to see the Uyghurs getting a bit of representation. Especially these days.

I've found these guys to be a little too OP. I wasn't sure whether or not they were while playing as them, but once I played against them as an AI it immediately became clear that they are OP. They were able to found too many citites too early, giving them way too many highly developed cities in the late medieval/early renaissance era.

Can you make a mod for Kara-Khitan Empire? It shouldn't be too hard based on this mod. Let me know if you need any help on research.

Can anyone do a mod for the manchus, the same as they were in the DLC that had them, I am looking everywhere for it but I can't find it. :(

Nvm, found out how. Anyone who's wondering;

You need Hiram's YnAEMP patch of course, which he has linked on the page for his 'The Forgotten' collection, but here it is again: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=22768

Go the mod location, mine is - [Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS/Hiram YnAEMP Compatibility Patch (v 2)]

Edit the Core.sql file in notepad, and change the value of the Uyghur civilization start under whatever map size you need, for me it was Gigantic Earth (Greatest Earth in the .sql file).

Thanks again for all the civs Hiram!

Hey there, this mod looks good and I was testing it out with YnAEMP, and I spawned in the right-most tile of Lake Bikal.

If you have the time, could you just change the value of the starting location, wherever it is, to be 1 more tile east? This civ is perfect for filling up the map with 43 Civ DLL.

Thanks again for the mod!

That UA looks a little OP for city-spamming, especially when paired with grape arbor. Perhaps you would consider lowering it to 50-60%? Thanks for the great mod anyway though ;)
Rough 3 Apr, 2014 @ 6:39am
I would say 50% is good. It's still a sweet UA, but you'd have to build/capture 12 cities to get the same bonuses, which is much more reasonable. Thanks!
Hiram  [author] 2 Apr, 2014 @ 9:11pm
I'm convinced now, haha. Should I reduce it to 75 or 50? I feel that 50 might be more balanced.
Rough 2 Apr, 2014 @ 6:18pm
Every civ is situational, no UA guarantees success, especially for the AI. But man...Happiness UA's, and simple UA's that the AI can use easily, are both pwerful. I'm just asking you to 1/2 the bonus they get for the sake of balance.
Rough 2 Apr, 2014 @ 6:17pm
Or take the standard India, with 3 giant cities: you would have to 80 citizens in those 3 cities to equal the Happiness the Uyghur save from 6 cities. That's a 40 pop city and two 20 pops, a heck of a game for anybody, and is a great late game place to get! And yet, the Uyghur can match that simply by founding a few cities and conquering their neighbor, early on in the game.
Rough 2 Apr, 2014 @ 6:11pm
I don't see how their UA can be circumstantial at all...founding cities and managing happiness is pretty much the core of CiV. You do it every single game. But aside from that, let's take the Dutch for example, as they have another happiness-producing UA. By the time that the Uyghurs have founded 6 cities (not unreasonable, I'd say) they are basically gaining 24 Happiness they wouldn't otherwise have. If the Dutch sell off 12 luxuries, they also gain 24 Happiness from their UA. But how often are you gonna see any civ with 12 luxuries being traded? How often are you going to see the Uyghurs building or conquering a mere 6 cities?
Hiram  [author] 2 Apr, 2014 @ 5:49pm
I get what you're saying, however based on my experience playing games with the Uyghurs present I've found that the power of their UA is quite circumstantial. I've seen them bth go wide and powerful some games and be mediocre in others. The ability to found lots to cities early on is intentional though. When they build lots of cities quickly though it's easy to chip away at them because they won't have the military/defensive resources to defend an overextended empire very well.
Rough 2 Apr, 2014 @ 2:51pm
hey Hiram, I like a lot of your mods. However, I just played a game in which Bayanchur Khan had 12 cities before 1000 AD...India's UA has a downside, and without it this one really is OP. Was playing Communitas map, Standard-size, epic game length, bunch of mod civs.

Thank you :D

Hi guys!
It's good to see new civilizations by mods. If you have a moment please support this petition to add Hungary in the game:

Hiram - this entirely depends on settings and player behavior. Unless you have a large number of players, a resource should be unique, at least among starting areas. This has to do with how the recources are distributed. If you go looking for a mod called "More Luxuries," the description explains more about this phenomenon.

TPangolin - That would certainly be one solution, although Indonesia is already doing that, sort of. I would encourage modders to try making their uniques, well, unique. This one has an inversion of India's UA, which is interesting, and I like the +sight range UU. Perhaps the Grape Arbor should work exactly like the circus, but have no requirement. This would be an improvement over the default, especially as the Circus has no maintenance cost.

Hiram Again - I hope you do not mind my Kibitzing. I tried my hand at modding and couldn't figure it out, so I try to be helpful with feedback to other modders. If it's irritating, just let me know.
Hiram  [author] 29 Dec, 2013 @ 3:04pm
I don't see how it unbalances it really. In most games I play no civ has the monopoly on a luxuary resource.
TPangolin  [author] 28 Dec, 2013 @ 8:15pm
Would you say that giving the Uyghur's a unique resource (i.e Uyghur Wine) would be a better alternative?
Delport Breckland 26 Dec, 2013 @ 2:48pm
Any unique that grants a resource that is already ingame unbalances the resource distribution mechanics. Each player begins near a luxury that, unless there are a large number of players in the game, will only be common in their area. The Grape Arbor UB would reduce the value of Wines, should they appear in another player's starting location.
Jabber 24 Dec, 2013 @ 6:24am
Man. I just like where are you going all this. If you want to make a Conquer of Siberia map it would be awesoma!
A Winged Hussar in Spirit 23 Dec, 2013 @ 6:24am
This looks really cool! As for being OP, I saw a mod for Serbia that I thought was really strong. THe way it played out though was quite different.
Hiram  [author] 22 Dec, 2013 @ 5:01am
@TPangolin Sorry, had to change computers, haha. Glad you like the finished result!
TPangolin  [author] 22 Dec, 2013 @ 4:53am
Absolutely brilliant. Love the art too. Facetiousness aside, playing as this Khanate is brilliant for going wide and it looks flippin' great on the map.
Hiram  [author] 21 Dec, 2013 @ 6:05pm
Often times a strong looking UA or UB is tempered by whatever situation the civ finds itself in, like competition from other civs or city states with wine to trade in this case.
Teddyk 21 Dec, 2013 @ 10:12am
I would say that Arabia is still stronger.
zArkham4269 20 Dec, 2013 @ 9:47am
Also I agree with Piestinum, if you have a large Civ, multiple Grape Arbors is going to be a big boost for trade and the like.
Plestinum 20 Dec, 2013 @ 2:43am
seems a little bit too strong for a UB
zArkham4269 19 Dec, 2013 @ 9:29am
I notice you're doing a lot of Mongol type Civs. I wonder if you might consider a "Easter Greek" civ. When I was in Afghanistan, I was posted at a base which was in site of two small hill forts built by Alexander the Great's army. Afghanistan had "Greek" cities like Bactra. So it might be interesting to see what sort of Greek/Afghan mix might be like for a regional scenario.

Or you just make Bactra a City-State which can be burnt to the ground as was done historically.
zArkham4269 19 Dec, 2013 @ 9:27am
That's a rather interesting UB. Why the wine? That part of the world is not known for vineyards but maybe that's because most people don't know much about that part of the world.
