I notice this is marked as a work in progress despite being the last version posted for four years. Two questions:

1. Will old scenarios from the "final" 1.3 and 1.32 work on this version?

2. Can you mark this version as final to allow for scenario creation in the event that the project is complete?

Sounds like an astonishing plan already to begin with! If you need assistance, just contact me and who knows we could help each other out! I could most definitely look into scenarios at the very least, look up the timetables from when there were trains running on the line. Anyway, hit me up! Maybe we could collaborate in one way or the other. :)

As for where I'm working right now my plan will be either:

Complete the line from Witham back up to Bath including Frome to Radstock West
or
Complete the Cheddar valley line to Yatton (from Wells) and join back up with the mainline into Bristol adding the Clevedon & Portishead branches

As for making it perfect, I feel that I want to to leave some of the areas that need improvements as it reflects the build history and the improvements in route building I have made as I have built the route over the years, of course if I'm joining onto an area that was built earlier I'll touch it up to make it look nice but I don't think I'd rework an entire line.

What have I got planned for the route? I don't really know, I have no real planning on when I add to it, I usually plan with it being several stages, to give you an idea of the build area i have the track diagrams that cover all the lines between:
Tuanton, Swindon (including Swindon works), Salisbury, Savernake, Standish Junction (junction for Gloucester - Swindon, Gloucester - Bristol) & the Lines around Avonmouth & the Portishead branch line. I also have several books that cover this same area that give me photos of the Locos that worked the lines along with insight to how station looked and the line side foliage.

@Xcelatron54

I don't mean to be a dick, but I'm really curious as what you have got planned for the map. Let's say you were to continue working on it to make it perfect (because there are a few things that could use improvements), would it for example include the part from Templecombe south to Bournemouth West? Would you reconstruct the Bristol - Exeter line? I'm asking because I think that the lines do match with your Somerset & Dorset Railway Network.

If you need suggestions, might I suggest on using a trackrule like the one from the Port Road addon to make easements and superelevated turns? This could bring the quality of the network (Can't call it a route anymore, can I?) up a notch, if that is what you are aiming for.

Despite some issues, I really think that this could become my new favorite map of all time. It used to be the S&DJR, then the Port Road, well if this has GWR, LMS, and SR lines combined into a single network (SR consists were spotted on the S&DJR after all, 7F's were often used to assist the Merchant Navy's)

Seriously, I like what you've done with the network so far! And I'm looking forwards to seeing more of it!

There will be one, I've taken a break from building more of the route. So far I've only extended the line from Shepton Mallet to Witham, with only the scenery left to complete between Cranmore & Wanstrow. I might add more before releasing it like Radstock West - Frome & Witham - Frome

Any news on a update for the route?
Xcelatron54  [author] 3 Dec, 2021 @ 9:12am
@El_Muna - No just the player consist
El_Muna 28 Nov, 2021 @ 12:34am
Include Quick Drive with Ai ?

Just a heads up: In Radstock there is an unwelded track in 'Radstock Reception' that causes the track to end prematurely. There is also parts of the track after Radstock, South Midsommer Norton and North of Evercreech Junction, that have the direction set wrong making it impossible to set a path heading south from any station north of Radstock.

For the unbranded route if you look for this in the location you installed railworks:
RailWorks\Assets\DTG\BristolCardiff
if you have this it should work.
you need West Highland Line extension Fort William - Mallaig
~Andromeda Proski~ 24 Jan, 2021 @ 3:39pm
Also, do I need the West Highland Line or the West Highland line extension?
~Andromeda Proski~ 24 Jan, 2021 @ 3:36pm
Will it make any difference for me to use the unbranded Bristol to Cardiff? I don't have the branded one.
Xcelatron54  [author] 24 Jan, 2021 @ 7:37am
Added the DLC back on:
Somerset & Dorset railway - Base of route
West Highland line - Tracks & scenery
Bristol - Cardiff - Temple Meads station & scenery - looking to switch to unbranded Bristol Swansea version
Exeter to Kingswear - Rails signs, signals & scenery
Falmouth Branch - Buildings & scenery
WLoS - Buildings & scenery
Woodhead - Buildings & scenery

These to have very little used from them so if you don't have them route will still run
IoW - Scenery
Brighton Mainline - cranes in Bristol harbour, some vegetation
~Andromeda Proski~ 23 Jan, 2021 @ 7:08pm
Greatly appreciated.
Xcelatron54  [author] 23 Jan, 2021 @ 3:06pm
huh, I thought the list was added on, i'll look at this tomorrow
~Andromeda Proski~ 23 Jan, 2021 @ 2:27pm
Does anyone have a FULL list of the DLC needed for this route to work? I know that not everything is listed.
kj_lewis 31 Oct, 2020 @ 2:14pm
Fix the points near Bristol Temple Meads coming from the northeast the slip points, diamond points are all outta wack there.
TheTrainMaster15 25 Aug, 2020 @ 1:31am
just a heads up. the QD from bath to templecombe doesnt work as it seems there is some broken track at Radstock on one of the X crosses.

Great Xcelatron54. I look forward to you getting enough thumbs up ratings, so I can create and publish on it. Come on everyone, give it a positive rating....Cheers.

Just an FYI, the Workshop tab does not work generally, so don't use it. Just go to the regular scenarios tabs for career and standard and check the list to see if the scenarios have added there, and if you have to, pop to Workshop for the quick load, but get the heck off of it. It's been the cause of plenty of repetitive errors, using that workshop list separately, and that is something DTG needs to fix in 2021 since this is a bug they apparently introduced from 2019 to 2020.
matthewharris911 17 May, 2020 @ 9:31am
Much appreciated :) i'm a volunteer down AVR and MSN so if you want any any additional help expanding and improving the route from Oldland to Riverside then let me know :)
Xcelatron54  [author] 17 May, 2020 @ 6:39am
@matthewharris911: go to drive an click on the workshop tab at the top it should say installing workshop routes, there should be a loading bar at the bottom of the screen stating decompressing files. Once this is done go back to the home screen then select build the route should then show up in you list. you can now go back to drive and quick drive the route.
matthewharris911 17 May, 2020 @ 4:43am
Just tried to install this version but sadly does not appear in the game even though i have all the DLC installed ?
Cyclone 11 May, 2020 @ 9:56am
It looks like it stayed available for another week, but as of today the only way to get the routes at all is through an older version. 2018 gives you North, 2017 gives you South, neither gives you the extension. The lack of extensions is the saddest element; I am without the Holyhead extension. Humble actually has a current sale, so it's recommended to get them there as I type (ends in about 10 days).
Not.Silent 17 Apr, 2020 @ 9:09pm
Are your facts correct Cyclone? I noticed today, that South Wales Coastal is still available, but the Bristol to Swansea isn't? I may be wrong too of course.
Cyclone 10 Apr, 2020 @ 1:53pm
NOTE: Anyone coming after April 14, 2020 will not be able to acquire South Wales Coastal due to a lost license. If you want to acquire it after this date, you will need to get a TS2017 key, which contains South Wales Coastal, to be able to play it. Cheers.
