The Capital Ship Explosions no longer work as intended though. No more Implosion Explosion and shock wave for Large and XL Ships. Hoping for an update to that. I tried to play without this mod for awhile, but Just miss the prolonged smoke and explosion effects so started using this again.

This is such a great mod! I can't believe Egosoft reached out to you and looked to improve their effects, that's pretty awesome. I do prefer this mod for capital ship explosions though as the Vanilla is still a bit lackluster imho compared to this one. Any idea if maby you could improve this mod in addition to the vanilla effects for capital ship explosions?

Mmmm no I take that back. The new vanilla effects are more refined and believable, and integrate better with the visual style of the game. However, large ship death finale needs to be more kaboom and poof. If Sir KungFury is too busy I might play around with further enhancing the new vanilla effects when 7 releases proper.

I second Swamp Doctor's opinion here. The new vanilla effects in beta 7 are nice, but I prefer how dramatic they are with the original fire and smoke. Small and medium ships just pop with zero fanfare in vanilla, larger ships do have cool localised fires and explosions but still this mod feels better somehow.

@KungFury Your version of the effects is many times better and more interesting than what has now been added to the game! I really hope for the adaptation of your mod to the new patch! You're the best!

The new effects are however different, so dont expect just the mod but in vanilla.
Hope you like them too. Maybe in the future I can improve them more, but this is up to Egosoft and my time I guess.

With version 7.0 (or actual beta) of X4 this mod is more or less obsolete.
Egosoft gave me the option to improve the explosions for the vanilla game and so did I.
So expect better looking explosions in X4 vanilla after 7.0.

There seems to be a nasty memory leak or something in this somewhere. Game performance gradually grinds to a slideshow even when nowhere near any wreckage or combat. Issue vanished after disabling this.

@AlwaysRLYAngry yep, i tested vanilla explosions a lot and often i do not see explosion effect in the base game. Not a mod bug, but vanilla, which cause wrong opinion about state of FireAndSmoke

I've not had any crashing with this mod but I have noticed that more often than not I'm having destroyed ships just instantly turn into wrecks with no explosion or effects at all, I watched it happen to various HOP and ARG ships from medium to large during a large fight in second contact and saw it up close when I personally destroyed a demeter sentinel.

I haven't tested enough yet but this may potentially be a vanilla issue rather than the mod as I feel like I recall it happening even when this mod isn't enabled since 6.0.

The crashes people mentioned. Are you using Encounters as this generated a very similar issue when something blew up. It was updated very recently to overcome this issue.

Can you give me some more details when it crashes?
I have observed many battles with ships of all sizes fighting each other so far. The only explosions I havent seen in 6.0 were stations blown up but it should be the same as with XL ships and these I have seen, so it is really strange.

I also am getting crashes which seem to be related to Fire and Smoke. Someone mentioned this below. I've had three crashes in the last ~5 hours of play - always happens when something blows up.

I'm using 5.10 and steam version of Fire and Smoke.

It appears to still mostly work with 6.0. Some weirdness with certain surface elements, but that's all I've noticed so far.

I added this mod years ago and didn't realize how critical it was to my enjoyment of the game until I've had to go without since 6.0 and Kingdom End.

I assume that with all the physics changes something about this mod has broken, so I hope for a swift update. Combat just isn't the same without it.

One *tiny* personal nitpick. In the new update could we get a lessened amount of smoke? Shorten the amount of time smoke comes pouring out of wrecks and it will go a long way to making it feel more "realistic" as well as minimize any performance hits imo.

The DLC was released a couple of hours ago. The author should not sleep, but only fix the mod? Wait a couple of days or when the author has time.

Yes you can just ignore the error message, don't click on the X and don't click ok. Otherwise it will CTD. Just click back to the game and it should still run normally. It's how i'm able to continue my game, or atleast this is what works for me. Just my ¢2

You can ignore all .sig error messages because this is for every new mod file and is no problem. It just says that its not an offical Egosoft file.

I can not say anything about your crash, but I tested the mod with the newest version in a huge battle (so all kind of explosions should happen) and no issue or crash appeard. So on my end it works as expected with no problem.

Causes a crash for me. Worked for two days but now it does not work at all. As soon as anything explodes, the game crashes to desktop.

А лучше дождаться обновления, там много всего менялось в моде , а так как 6.0 тоже не мало поменялось, то лучше ждать обновление и мод отключить.
