Thank you for noticing the decor :)
You can try a cool cafe-bar in this map:

Most surprised to find I'd solved it eventually !
The heck of a though puzzle though is entirely due to Mike's talent!

I'm thrilled. I replayed it 3 times to get a rough idea of what I was doing. I have not played a better map until now. It's a masterpiece. It takes thousands of hours in Portal 2 to come up with something like this
Thumbs up.

Though definitely not in the intended way q:
Jumps are fun
The pastel(?) coloring was a very nice change of pace, and showcased some good colors without retina-roasting.
You were right: a flashier lighting does not render well with those flat colors. (I also tried a full compile, but then all the whites and light zones become "burned". Plus, the water texture becomes too blue and I wanted to keep it very dark...
So we decided with Mike that the best result was achieved with this rather discreet lighting. (Also to let the player concentrate on the puzzle ;)
As for the blood on the grating, I didn't notice that myself; that's weird. Could be a reflection from the skybox (?).
Very nice of you to notice and report all those graphic details : thank you!
Interestingly, I didn't feel like there was one "big" trick this time, just lots of small individual ones that add up. Excellent portal relocation moves.
Funny note: tried squeezing myself into the grate again just for fun... instead of pushing you through like in #10, this grate kills you if you're trapped inside! I *did* manage to get the cube to clip INTO the grate (could get it out with portals again), but not all the way through. ;)
Thumbs up !
@gelax_x Thank you for playing as well!
@Joric Ok comment. Thanks for stopping by
