locate the settings.lua file in the folder of this mod and change it manually
upcimii 5. okt. 2024 kl. 10:32
like to switch to A and B era
upcimii 5. okt. 2024 kl. 9:54
Hey, is there any way to do this without commonapi?
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 13. mar. 2023 kl. 9:22
There is a working version on the website with manual install. I know this is not the most convenient way. However you can still edit in the settings.lua yourself or play with the default setting.
I am not sure if this mod will get an update - I gave up playing with the insane automatic town development. Btw: contributions welcome at any time.
macluk 12. mar. 2023 kl. 15:55
I don't find it working at the moment... and referring back to CommonAPI2 doesn't help as that one doesn't work either.
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 12. mar. 2023 kl. 15:08
Is anything not working?
810-venca 12. mar. 2023 kl. 6:02
Please update the mod to a newer version of the game. Thank you

nur die settings.lua ändern. Keine anderen Dateien.

From a user that is the convenient view. But dont forget the modder side, where every mod is a lot of work. Historically, at the release of this mod TPF2 did not even have official mod settings. We had to rely on CommonAPI which had/has huge additional tools to the base game but because of its invasive behavior it has to be updated every game update. Due to bad communication from the developers this caused many problems, so he disabled it for steam. Anyway, this mod works fine alone, with the depicted default settings.
cygnusx1 25. maj 2022 kl. 12:01
I did, but as it turns out that is the link for the "dummy" mod. I had to download the full version directly. And, after a lot of aggravation finally have it working.

Apologies for the frustrated grumbling, but unless it's my computer causing the problem, I just expect to apply a mod and have it work on its own without a bunch of tweaking from me.
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2022 kl. 6:05
I think "BuildingsEraA = false," is pretty self-explaining. The Mod Settings Guide is general - the content of settings file is just an example. Anyway, in the comments of the guide you find the link to the manual CommonAPI download.
cygnusx1 24. maj 2022 kl. 14:42
I am now trying to edit the settings.lua file as you suggest as a last resort, and it does not contain the code as you described...

Here is the contents of the settings.lua file:

return {
BuildingsEraA = false,
BuildingsEraB = true,
BuildingsEraC = true,

}

Where are these lines:

return {
capacityFactor = 2,
townDevelopInterval = 60,
logging = true,
}

At this point, when a mod causes this much aggravation, it almost seems not worth it!!!

VacuumeTube, I'm trying to use you 2 building filter mods with the API2 dummy mod that you suggested and recommended. I subscribed to the mod and it doesn't work... I just spent 1 1/2 hours researching and changing settings files in the API2 mod and it is just a dead mod.

Now I realize that you are not responsible for someone else's mod being broken and not working, but you recommend it.

Have you heard of any new fixes to make this mod work for your mods. For now, I guess I'll just fiddle with editing the .lua file in your mod... which is very dissapointing to say the least!
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 10. apr. 2022 kl. 2:26
You need town development on and the town needs higher numbers, either base values (sandbox editor) or the factors in the town window
Papupi 9. apr. 2022 kl. 23:53
hey sorry to bother you but i have a question, is there a way to make the town builder lay down more higher level buildings instead of level 1s? im running both town filter mods(era+level) and the no ai upgrade mod
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 26. juli 2021 kl. 8:48
See Mod Settings Guide
OkapiJohn 23. juli 2021 kl. 0:40
I need some help! I want to play with only buildings from era A and I don't know how to activate this mod. CommonAPI2 seems to do not be working so I don't know what to do. Thanks
elgreco 13. juni 2021 kl. 15:13
Where do you find this mod? I loaded it onto a saved game but do not see it anywhere.
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 8. apr. 2021 kl. 5:36
It's not compatible with that mod, it doesn't make any sense to activate both.
With this mod, you chose what is available, independent of game year.
Aksorn 7. apr. 2021 kl. 15:31
Finally I found the reason of the problem: this building era filter will not apply if the mod "Town buildings: no end year" is also enabled (whatever the mod order)
Benouyt 22. feb. 2021 kl. 1:32
Thank you :o)
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 21. feb. 2021 kl. 11:35
yes like i said
Benouyt 21. feb. 2021 kl. 9:33
Thanks for your answer, but so it mean that for example, if i start game in 1850 with your default mod setting there will be only era b + c building who spawn ?
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 21. feb. 2021 kl. 3:01
With the mod, buildings are "timeless". You decide which buildings are available
Benouyt 21. feb. 2021 kl. 2:23
I don't understand this : "The default setting is Era B+C, so that modern and conventional buildings appear together."

It mean that if we start in 1850 we won't have stone buildings ?
A Guy Called Pi 17. jan. 2021 kl. 23:12
Changed everything to default values. Finally seems to have done the trick. Thanks for letting me know what was going wrong
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2021 kl. 14:49
You can also set 1990 in my code to 2020 if you changed them all to that
A Guy Called Pi 16. jan. 2021 kl. 10:35
Could not find any reference to that in the scripts but I can always try changing them back.
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2021 kl. 0:39
Did you really change the availibility of the files? Because that's how the mod determines the era und if it is filtered.
A Guy Called Pi 15. jan. 2021 kl. 22:38
Still having this problem, only now the level filter is broken as well. Ugly skyscrapers everywhere...
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2020 kl. 13:24
wait you changed the dates of all buildings?
A Guy Called Pi 30. sep. 2020 kl. 12:30
That's why I'm confused - I can't think of any possible conflicts. The rest, I've already checked. Era C buildings spawn after 1990 but I can't find any reference to that date in the files I've looked at, as I've changed all values to 2020.
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2020 kl. 11:24
Any mods active that change the availability of town buildings? I don't know of any conflicts yet
A Guy Called Pi 30. sep. 2020 kl. 3:53
I only happen te use the vanilla buildings....I've triple checked the mod settings. I suspect mod loading order is the problem due to some mod conflict.
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2020 kl. 1:20
Sure those are vanilla buildings?
Eventually start a new discussion and post a screenshot
A Guy Called Pi 29. sep. 2020 kl. 15:43
Also having issues with this, the game keeps spawning Era C buildings after 1990 though this is explicitly disabled.
VacuumTube  [ophavsmand] 22. sep. 2020 kl. 1:25
any town building mods installed?
Aksorn 20. sep. 2020 kl. 5:11
I have the following configuration in the file settings.lua
BuildingsEraA = true,
BuildingsEraB = false,
BuildingsEraC = false,
However, the AI started as usual to replace all old buildings with "Era B" ones around 1930.
I'm not sure why this mod does not work for me
stevesteel 10. sep. 2020 kl. 7:50
Ich kann es nicht deaktivieren. Kann jemand helfen?
mongolteiko 12. juli 2020 kl. 5:09
Hi VacuumTube. Are you able to put the filters [of both mods] into the Enabled Mods description [now ingame] rather than use Common API2 as this mod crashes my game so have gotten rid of it. Thanks.
hannebambel002 20. juni 2020 kl. 4:26
