Hey Spite, No I definitely don't use p for parking. It seems to be somewhat tied to adding or removing blocks to the carrier causing the auxiliary craft to fall off. No idea if its a mod i have installed or the blueprint for my mining drone.

Hi Solly, not sure, but this vehicle is really old, so it was uploaded before you could exclude connectors from the "P" button shortcut to lock/unlock, so could it be that you are using "P" to take the parking brake off and drive, and that is un-docking your miner?

Hey i love your vehicle designs and i was trying to set the Hercules up with a miner but for some reason it keeps falling off the connector. The connector on both the miner drone and the Hercules stay green, any thoughts why that would be happening?

Wow, I can safely say that I never would have thought to try that!

Nice one Darkwolf

Thought you'd be interested to know that the Hercules-RQ has enough forward thrust and hatches to be able to independently de-orbit itself and land safely on Pertam even while carrying two Kaari MK4-HO's in the miner bays.

The Kaari MK4's are a bit of a tight fit past the wheels, but PAM can still deal with them (only just!).

the RC block is right above the corridor block at the front of the hangar area, you can also use the "show on HUD" option to find it

where is the remote control

Hey Kaito, sure thing!
Kaito 9 May, 2021 @ 4:41pm
The way we're using these is that we build them in space and drop them from orbit onto a planet. Once landed it becomes a mobile deployment base and mining carrier, and they never leave. Too heavy to lift back out. So we just have one per planet.

It has short range guns and point defense, and a top and front shell of heavy armour. It can still dock 5 ships, same as the Hercules. The bridge has been moved to where miners used to dock, and the old bridge now houses a large refinery. It is incredibly resilient, and still very easy to drive, thanks in large part to the DAS script and your excellent wheel layout.

So I took this and started to do a little refitting for long term hostile environment deployment, and ended up taking the entire thing apart and redoing it from the ground up. The only thing that still is the same is the wheel base. We've christened it the UDSE Ulises. It uses a couple mods, but would you like to have a look?

I did not know that, but I guess it makes sense.

I’ll keep it in mind when it’s time to build some more LG rovers.

Thanks, I’m glad it’s being useful!

Hey! I'm working on a retrofit of this, did you know you can fit your printer in the Hangar bay? Take out the Quarry docks, smooth out the edges, and its just the perfect size to fit your printer in sideways!

I'm finding space for a refinery and adding a bit of storage for components and this could be a mobile construction platform!

This hull in general is very versatile and glad you made it! I operate from planets a lot, so this is perfect for a lot of things.

Hi Some1OverThere, thanks, I'm glad you're finding them useful!

Yes I do plan on doing large grid and station designs, but I want to do a bunch more small grid stuff first, specifically some more rovers and the military ships (interceptors, gunships, bombers) before I move on to large grid. SO they are definitely on the to-build list, but may be a while.
Some1OverThere 30 Nov, 2020 @ 1:36pm
im loving your designs they have helped me out lots at the moment i am using this one in out server with some minor changes added after the fact a refiney and a suvivel kit

question do you plan to make more large grid designs and have you considered a base builds section with building bluprints to match the same look and style

thanks again for the fantastic designs

the toolbar was set to turn the parachute blocks on and off. After some more testing with it the parachute amount is fine.
Spite  [author] 26 Jun, 2020 @ 11:44pm
In what way is the parachute group not set up right on the toolbar? it should be one button for open/close.

Also, which two parachute hatches are the extra ones?
Zeal 26 Jun, 2020 @ 3:43pm
Nice job on the new piping. You can probably take off 2 of those parachute hatches if they're problematic because it /REALLY/ slows down. The parachute controller isn't bound right on the toolbar but that's an easy fix. Also I found in some of your creations that the parking brake isn't active on all the rovers. So going into the control panel and turning brake on and off on all of them usually clears that. Otherwise, I dropped this thing from orbit on the alien planet and it landed without a hitch with a full loadout. Fantastic!

Sure!

This ship series was more designed with the idea of a mobile mining station with automated drones; set up, fly home, and enjoy the ore.

But if you can retrofit it for something else that's great too. I even saw some people on reddit with a cargo hauler retrofit.

I do have a salvage carrier series in the works, but playing more multiplayer survival at the moment, so it may take a few days.
Echo Mande 1 May, 2020 @ 3:56pm
I have made a variant of this that I think is improved.

My variant's habitat area is bigger and more fitted out, there is a better ventral cargo access and the ship can be better used as a mobile wreck recovery base. The cargo export connectors can be switched between 'export ore' and normal cargo access.

Interested?
