I finally updated the mod to patch 2.8. Have fun fishing everyone. Shore Fishing is also now a part of my Full Tech Tree Mod.

I think they updated the proto file recently with the patch 2.8. It should work as soon as I update this mod, over the weekend

I suspect that shore fishing didn't really fit into the game the way everything was programmed. There are only a very small number of fish that spawn close the shore, and just, like farms, only one fishing ship or a villager, can gather from a fishing spot, which makes building a granary to the shore, a waste. It's kind of difficult to micro manage shore fishing.
