Finally finished the series! I had taken a long break from Portal 2, and this was the only one I had left. Beautiful execution, insanely hard for me but after a lot of hard thinking and multiple hours I worked in out in the end. Thank you so much for creating this series <3

great puzzle as ever

For some reason this one felt pretty straightforward to me, compared to some other maps from Reliquiae collections. The combination is just long, so I wrote down two checkpoints while solving it backwards.
Nice nevertheless!

@Dopetob Thanks for playing the whole series! Glad you enjoyed it :cozycrashfish:

The Reliquiae series as a whole was pretty good, especially in the later entries. I found the use of funnels and laser to be used pretty well throughout the series so to conclude the series with this terrific laser and funnel puzzle was perfect.

As for the puzzle itself, it was really good. The objective was clear and I knew what I had to do to win, just not quite how to get there. Took me a good while to figure it out but I was oh so glad I did, the solution was very satisfying and clever. Excellent use of cube respawns as well as the laser and funnel. This one was an easy favourite!

@Mattchew Thank you so much for playing the whole series! Very happy to hear you liked it overall. I am personally also very happy with how this one turned out in particular :cozycrashfish:

After playing Reliquiae, I would say its generally pretty good! Very soild collection of sleek small maps.

However, I am head over heels for this one. Such a smart usage of everything, and its exit condition is a combo of some of my favorite moves. Well done! Easy fav.

@zeo1337 Amazing work completing the whole series! I'm glad you enjoyed :D

This one made me feel like an absolute genius for working it out in my head.
I actually toyed with the idea of using the redirection cube while it was in the funnel to respawn itself. Could make an interesting idea for another test.

I've found a slightly alternate solution, which is a bit shorter than the solution showed in both the videos. It occurs right when the cube physically contacts the tractor beam:

1) Instead of placing a portal to obtain the cube immediately, go through both the fizzlers and leave the cube leaning the "portal-able" wall;
2) Place both the portal holes such that the laser catcher connected to one of the fizzlers will be activated;
3) While standing on the button, place the correct portal on the wall mentioned at "1" to obtain the cube;
4) As you have carried the cube to the enterance area, you can continue with the expected solution.

I'm not sure if that's intended as well, and this shortcut isn't a big shortcut, but I have found it worth mentioning. Who knows, maybe it will inspire another map!

Best puzzle ever.
Very good series! I absolutely love the simple layouts with interesting logic.
The only map I wasn't a huge fan of was #5 because of the weird acrobatics you had to do.
Thanks for creating :steamthumbsup:

Tend to go for easier ones first, I do ignore numbering and there's no backstory here.

@Andy T Great work solving this one! I wonder how you decide on the order in which you play these maps haha
Andy T 14 Jul, 2022 @ 11:30pm
This was a tough one, but I found the solve at last, I missed the middle part and got stuck for days.

Enjoyable not double, but two time sacrifice :-)
Thumbs up and thanks for creating this whole series.
I also upvoted the whole collection. Praise to the custom music, a lot of awesome tracks.

@MikeastroNo, I actually discovered your channel through a different video (We made a complicated test chamber in 4 months). I actually discovered this series under a game theory video. Big fan of your work now.
Mikeastro  [author] 15 May, 2022 @ 4:47am
@StackSmasher789 Thank you so much for playing and completing this whole series :D It really means a lot to hear you enjoyed it all the way. Indeed, these puzzles really get quite tricky towards the end, so great work! Indeed, I thank that random stranger as well. Might it have been below one of my videos?
StackSmasher789 14 May, 2022 @ 9:56pm
Very clever. I could figure out the second half of the puzzle where we must get into funnel and destroy cube to change directions. I was unsure of how to get the beam to pull configuration first. I was going through comments to see hints, but then I saw the first image on the workshop and got it. Essentially, I was keeping the cube always straight towards the entrance area. Once I saw different orientation, I immediately got the solution. This series was a solid 7-10/10 difficulty for me but was great fun ! Highly recommended. Huge thanks to the random stranger who recommended this series in YouTube comments.
Kaisa Serian 11 May, 2022 @ 4:23pm
@Mikeastro I did very much enjoy the series, great work! Also I actually have already done the "No Elements" collection, which i also thoroughly enjoyed!
Mikeastro  [author] 11 May, 2022 @ 4:07pm
@Kaisa Serian Thanks for playing the whole thing! Indeed, these puzzles get tricky pretty quickly. Maybe you can try the ''No Elements'' collection that I also link below my most recent videos on youtube. I think they are quite beginner friendly :] Glad you enjoyed these maps though!
Kaisa Serian 7 May, 2022 @ 11:05am
Overall this was a nice series, though it gave me quite the struggle, and in fact forced me to look at video solutions for several of the puzzles (some of them i only had to watch partway through, just to make sure i was even doing the right thing, and managed to figure out the rest on my own). I really need to find a good set of beginner puzzles that'll more easily lead me into considering certain portal placements or how to use certain elements, cause i'm still at a complete noob level lol (and the introduction to the workshop levels were simply just too difficult for me too...which sucks). But overall, great series!
Mikeastro  [author] 12 Apr, 2022 @ 3:14pm
@SaSSolino Thank you very much for playing :D I'm very happy to hear that you liked these puzzles! Also, don't be discouraged by the difficulty ratings; they are only accurate for very experienced players. So a rating of 3.5 definitely means that the puzzle can be quite tricky to solve :cozycrashfish:
SaSSolino 12 Apr, 2022 @ 11:47am
Really ending an already hype collection on a great note!

That said, while rushing all chambers in a single day sure didn't help, reading that "3.5/10" difficulty rating with my brain one portal away from bleeding does hurt a bit.
Mikeastro  [author] 11 Feb, 2022 @ 3:40am
@duncte123 Thanks a lot for playing :D It is true that my difficulty ratings are aimed at quite experienced players. Excellent work making it through the whole series, even with the occasional peek at a solution video! Glad to hear you enjoyed it :cozycrashfish:
duncte123 11 Feb, 2022 @ 2:42am
Playing through this series I can definitely say that I overestimated my own skills. For me, these maps usually were a 6-7/10 in difficulty. Still had loads of fun playing them even if I did have to resort to the videos for the last parts of the puzzle.
Mikeastro  [author] 8 Dec, 2021 @ 2:39pm
@Sloi Thank you very much for playing! Excellent work solving all of them :D

A very nice series, thank you for making it!

Still some really neat maps in the collections, I just did a replay of it within an hour. You make the goals clear and logical, while also making the player solve the puzzle. I like the thought you put into designing these maps. Very well done. Can't wait for season 2!
Mikeastro  [author] 20 May, 2021 @ 4:50pm
@Aneonen Thanks a lot for finishing the series! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the puzzles, even if they are not real mind benders :]
Aneonen 20 May, 2021 @ 3:20pm
Nice puzzle! The ending move was neat, but I actually liked the cube-fizzle before it a little more - that move felt a bit more subtle and was only useful with an understanding of the end setup. Not sure why I didn't play this one originally; either it hadn't been published at the time or I just forgot. Nonetheless, it was a nice conclusion.
