I felt like scripts were missing, so I made a mod myself with all the expansions, scripted setup, score, essences, etc. : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3476364670

I don't understand the scripted setup. Is it just dealing 2 mages to each player and giving each player their essences? There seems to be a mess on the table

The only thing that my OCD gets in the way of is the small table with everything just hanging off. I feel like I am about to have things fall in my lap. Again it is my OCD and I can get past it. Great MOD!

I'm unlikely to include the expansion components (as I used the existing artwork w/ permission from another mod) since I don't have the time get the artwork and add it to the game.

However, the small quality of life improvements (monument orientation, random piece of paper) are something that I could add in. I'll take a look and put them in if it's simple.

For the play mats, the backing image is easily changed; I'll take a look on bgg to see if there's something nicer that I can use.

Great mod. Love the scripted tapping/untapping of cards (for those who didn't realize - drag the cards from their positions on the player mats slightly "up" (toward top of mat) to untap and slightly down to tap.

I wish the mats where ever so slightly prettier - everything else looks stellar and it's a shame not to match that. And for us the initial monument card 'market' (the two face up monumnets) has always started out rotated sideways, with a card hidden under the places of power. And for some reason, there's a white piece of paper on top of the middle area that I end up deleting.

Other than these super minor niggles, this has been a smooth mod for an amazing game.

The scripted setup is a nice addition, thanks. The Monuments are placed at an angle underneath the places of power and need to be manually moved, and there's a weird custom token on the table on initial loading that has no image, but otherwise everything is good.

Any plans to include the expansion components?

Scripting looks fine but you need to fix the rotation of the elements against the grid. You cannot have players to shift their head 45° to read what they've just picked up!

Hi, wanted you know that your mod has been added to my collection: Board Game Geek - BGG - May 2020 - Best Mod for each of the Top 500 Rated Games. Collection here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2086043930

The collection used this priority system:

1. Mod's Files Availability: Mod with all/most files still available for download
2. Feature completeness: Mod with greatest inclusion of expansions and/or promos available for the board game title
2. Scripting: Mod with scripting that most reduces work in setup/play for players
3. Component Quality: Mod with the best visuals/usability in terms of component quality
4. Table Setup/Ambiance: Mod with the best immersion with table, background, and other modeling.

Please also note that a mod that makes selection for this list very well could be one in which the mod author borrowed the majority of assets from another workshop listing, so full thanks to all who worked on a mod.

Thanks for your hard work!

Ok, sounds good. The tapping / untapping doesn't do anything to the game state; it just makes it a bit faster than having to rotate the cards themselves, and it ensures that they are angled uniformly. There are a couple of other small tweaks I'm going to make as well in the next couple of days.

I think a more traditional view would be preferred. As it is, not a single player has an ideal view. I would think a bigger table, with 2 players facing the center tableau and then 2 more on the sides would be a better layout. I'm also not quite sure what I'm missing, but I don't understand what the scripting for the tapping/untapping does exactly? Other than that everything works great. Setup is very nice.

How would you prefer it to be laid out?
mattgrosso 25 Apr, 2020 @ 7:03pm
The decision to have all of the elements set at 45º makes this really hard to use.
