Tried this, attempted to form a caravan twice, never formed after a full day each time. Couldn't tell where the "loaded" items were as none of the caravan pawns or animals had them in their inventory. Pawns got stuck in roping animal loops.

Pretty sure there was a caravan update for the core game making them more efficient, that could be causing the problems. That is a wild guess as I'm not sure if the author of this mod had taken that into account during their last update

attempted to try this (1.4 but using other mods aswell ) after testing and removing several mods i found this was the problem. Completely broke caravans , will not load anything just Activity: forming Caravan (wandering/moving) drafting/undrafting does not snap them out of it just ges right back to idling

Draftable Animals are also buggy. Have to remove em from the Caravan and put them back in to make the pawns move and load the Cravan up.

Thought id give it a shot in 1.4.. does break caravan assembly and it seems drafting and undrafting didnt result in any change. Also seems to be a bug when and if u have grabbed a few things for the trip..when u eventually just cancel the caravan and pawn goes to put away those things, mine got stuck it seems in a loop trying to put away his forced worn gear.. which was weird

You can resolve the freezing situation by drafting and undrafting pawns. Using only one pawn and one animal (maximum) makes this issue easier to deal with and is generally the optimal way to handle caravans.

I still use this mod and when it gets 'stuck' I select all pawns on caravan, draft and undraft them. That usually gets the caravan to pack remaining items and moving off the map.

That said, I noticed one thing that seems to get them 'stuck'.
If I tell the caravan to take 20 meals and I only have 21 meals.

If two non-caravan pawns quickly take/eat 3 meals before my caravan can collect 20 meals... I think that might cause a hang up.
This can also cause an issue if I tell the caravan to take a specific weapon or armor and a non-caravan pawn/robot decides to move that item to a different storage/zone location while the caravan is being loaded.

Since the item is temporarily in a non-caravan pawn's inventory... the caravan may not be able to see it and so it gets 'stuck' waiting.
Hopefully this helps those who, like myself, still use this mod and are looking for a work-around for the 'stuck' loading.

The mod is broken. When you gather a caravan, they just stand there, they don't go anywhere.

This mod has some kind of incompatibility that prevents your pawns from actually loading the caravan. If you are having trouble with a caravan standing around, remove this mod.

Man at this point I'd settle for a mod option that just had a countdown before it triggered the devmode send instantly function without having to toggle devmode on and off everytime a caravan gets stuck loading.

@Mlie - This continues to be an issue in my game. Each time the pawns pull all of the animals to the caravan spot, they load the proper items and then stand on top of one another indefinitely.

The way I 'fix' it is by drag selecting all of the caravan pawns on the spot and then "Draft' and 'Undraft'.

When I do that, some of the pawns will eat something at the table/chairs near the caravan spot and maybe they drop something from their inventory and then the caravan leaves the map.

Since many of us are using a LOT of other mods, any one of them could be causing this 'conflict'.
I'm curious if you have the ability to reset all of the caravan pawns queued jobs after all caravan loading finishes.

They might be standing 'stuck' because they have unfinished jobs (such as eating or unloading) before the form caravan order was given.

I'm not a coder/modder... just trying to offer some perspective based on my experiences.

aand another one: it seems that i can unlock the stuck people by drafting them and then releasing them. otherwise the caravan wouldnt even leave when fully loaded

btw i forgot: theyre in this state as soon as the caravan formation starts. so they wait forever till the caravan is loaded ( which will be done by the pawns not in the caravan)

also have the problem peopel just standing around.
they stop doing anything, just clumb at the caravan point with the animals beeing stuck "leading animal xy to exit"

it just effects the people ive chosen for joining the caravan

could NOT figure out what the deal was with my caravan. They literally just stood there and wandered. I emptied their inventories, drafted and undrafted them as a group and individually ... nothing changed. Please fix. Will await a fix before subscribing again.

I have experienced the same 'pawns and animals stand at caravan spot and do not leave' issue that others mentioned.

This may be an issue with mods that expand inventory size/weight of pawns. If so, Mlie probably can not fix it, so I am posting this as a possible work-around.

Sometimes a pawn is set to load the caravan with a unique item, but the loading pawn goes to sleep, is drafted or starts a new job with the unique/queued item in its inventory causing the caravan to wait for the item to be loaded.

When I see a pawn asleep or doing a non-loading job with a load-queued unique item in it's inventory, I force it to drop the item and then 'Draft' and 'Undraft' a caravan pawn who usually runs over to the item and loads it on the caravan and the caravan leaves.

If that does not work, try clicking each caravan pawn and 'Draft' then 'Undraft' it. That sometimes clears their queue and they head out.

+1 for update to 1.3 - pawns spent over a week wandering around in toxic fallout (with everything loaded already on the first day) instead of moving to the edge of the map to walk half a mile and attack the spewer causing it. Obviously a bug, but knowing that doesnt change anything for me.

TLDR update for caravan formation fixing mod[s] is still desirable as 1.3 didn't fix diddly with formation processes.

(PS, This request is still within the understanding that neither an OG mod author nor a port updater is under any obligation to maintain their mods - any work up to and optionally past this point in time is appreciated greatly but not necessarily expected)

1.3 seems no better to me. Exact same behavior as before: 12 pawns wandering around the caravan spot while 1 pawn spends 36 hours loading the caravan. Please update this mod!

I concur, with 1.3, it is a mess to form caravan. Mission 0.3 days away... even with minimum equipement it takes ages

I don't know what part was implement in 1.3, but if anything caravan formation is worse now because of the pen system. I was breeding animals to sell, and they bred faster than I thought they would so my poor cpu is struggling trying to handle something like 80 devil sheep and 20 or so muffalo and musk oxen, and trying to get all the animals into the caravan and off the map with only 4 colonists has taken about 3 ingame days and over 2 real-life hours because my colonists had to rope all the animals out of the pen to the caravan parking spot, load them up, and now FOR SOME REASON they have to rope them all again to leave the map, while the animals refuse to eat or sleep so they're passing out from exhaustion and malnutrition and wandering around away from the parking spot. It's been a nightmare - would rather fight 3 mechanoid clusters at once than do this again, tbh.

Can say that what ever they added to the base game is not sufficient, People just mill about while loading up caravans, and won't sleep in their assigned beds, the process takes forver and is absolutely horrible. Requesting an update to this if it's not compatble.

Once the caravan or a drop pod is done loading with items you can just use reload and can add stuff while not having to get out the stuff which is already in there.
