This mod has been deprecated. Patch B128 - Preview 14 in November 2020 has added noise to the reloading and maintenance of torpedoes.
thank you for the update, I also think that mod still makes sense as it splits the noise between various parts of the activity.
However it looks like the the mod is not loading in B128 at all. I do not see any messages from the mod in the output log.
i wouldn't say the mod is now obsolete, yes they added loading noise with b128 but just 86db for loading and warming not splited like in ur mod:
Torpedo loading stages with different noise levels:
-Mounting 70db
-Greasing 65db
-Loading 75db
-Unloading 75db
Torpedo warming stages with different noise levels:
-Unloading 75db
-Warming 65db
-Loading 75db
But I think that 65db for warming & greasing is a bit too loud maybe 45db is better?
Cheers,
Klaus
-- Torpedo loading and preheating now also makes noise.
your mod is spamming the output log with
Torpedo Noise: Torpedo warmup complete
this occurs even when no torpedo action is occuring, especially during initial load, I dont know if there is a way to have your script wait after loading until the uboat has loaded in game?
Also it seems to output twice to console for every event that occurs: maybe a bad while/for loop?
www.subsim.com is still around but.. U know.. But still.
Im excited to see the mod community pick up
Joined up on the Discord, as well
Lord Tridax -i think you mean Noise. ;)
Not sure how much of an issue this is but when running 127P1 saw the following errors in the output log. This was on the initial setup of the mod:
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Runtime/Export/Debug.bindings.h Line: 43)
Torpedo Noise: Unable to fetch singleton playerShip
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Runtime/Export/Debug.bindings.h Line: 43)
Torpedo Noise: Unable to fetch singleton mainCamera
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Runtime/Export/Debug.bindings.h Line: 43)
Torpedo Noise: Mod is loaded.
While I didn't see any other errors from your mod the bugs mentioned below were also present. If you need any test cases let me know.
Warming torpedoes works perfectly.
When reloading the torpedo ,that is when the visual animation remains after loading has been completed although there is no noise penalty on visibility pop up.
When I interrupted reloading the visual animation disappears but on the visibility pop up it still shows noise even though no one is actually reloading at that point( not sure if this is intended or a limitation of the game). Once I complete reloading only the visual animation remains.
No errors showed up on the console menu.
Hope this helps and thanks again for all your hard work
But here's a word of advice: Be careful with T5 torps and wait a bit until you reaload or warm up another torp! During my last patrol I fired one T5 from my rear while silent running, Torp officer went to reload automatically and suddenly the T5 took a U-turn and came back to me. It passed my aft about 3 meters.
But hey, that's how it was when using the Zaunkönig: Avoid any noice (only lowest speed and no reloading) when using T5s or maybe you will eat your own torps! Especially when shooting from the aft.
At least U 377 und U 972 where hit and sunk by their own T5s...
Greetings Alligator
