The siblings encounter NEEDS to be looked at. That's the biggest load of shit I've ever come across in this game. It's a great mod otherwise but that ruined a great run for me because it's just straight up unmanageable

Trappist although the hollowknight character would enhance the experience, it is not necessary to enjoy the act, I play with defect a lot and with modded other characters.

Me personally I think MANTIS needs nerfed. Legit forces block EVERY turn. And they gain strength when one dies as well as heals. I feel like it would be better if when one dies, another spends a turn buffing and healing them so you at least get a turn to attack. But then again I also suck at the BASE game as I struggle on ascension lvl 14. hehehe So take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Super fun mod (if you're reading this, anyways).

I do wish that some of the encounters were a bit nerfed though: specifically the fucking Siblings. Massive regen, decent health, great damage, great block and scaling and there's three of them.

I have lost three runs in a row to the three siblings fight in act 3 on A0. It's not that I don't have scaling (I went face with void vs Mantis lords and won), but 15 regen plus the crazy strength scaling and high base damage is too much. I can't block for 25>30>35 on turns 1, 2, and 3. Also, the Mistakes heal *far* too much for an AOE check fight.
Otherwise every fight has seemed *mostly* fair (except maybe the act 1 boss with the big mace. He's like slime boss and champ had a kid and it hits like a truck for act 1)

so for act 4 u shoud do normal enmies - (gruz mother, brooding mawle, dung defender,Flukemarm,) Elites (Vengefly king x2, pure vesel, white defender, oro and mato, failed champion) events on act 2-4 (hive king, Uumuu) for special event on 4 (reapet other bosses) u can ubdate arena np ( 2x oblobble, god tamer)

I love this and the bug knight mod. Truly captures the feel. Sure the bug knight could use some buffs but it feels great to play because I die just as often as I do any other base game character. Wonder if a Hornet character mod could be a future thing.

If it weren't for the amazing art and music, this mod would be a complete mess; because the balance is in shambles. I'll try to be as objective as possible by comparing this 3 act package to the vanilla game's first 3 acts. Here is a summary of the biggest flaws I've found:

1. Too many enemies block and defend on the same turn, or have massive amounts of plated armor/thorns for no apparent reason. The reason this is an issue is that it makes you feel like you're always losing, no matter what you do. You can block the 8 damage your opponent is going to do with 2 blocks, but then you won't be able to crack their unending block.

2. Enemies' stats are through the roof. I haven't done any formal tests, but in just about every act 1 combat the average hp stat on a unit is like 40 more than the base game.

For example, one of the early elites plays like the Gremlin Nob from act 1; buffs himself on the first round, then dishes out massive attacks for the rest. This would be find if he didn't have over 100 hp on A20. Another act 1 elite produces an estimated average of 10 damage and 10 block per turn, with the option of summoning a regular enemy. Once it gets low, however, it gains 40 block, barricade, and heals 14 hp per turn until that block is broken. This is incomparable to the base game's act 1 elites. Other non-elite enemies are also just insane. In act 3 there's the 3 siblings who have ~50 hp each, 16 regen that doesn't decay, and who deal either an average of 22 damage or gain 15 block. The player is expected to do over 30 damage while blocking 20 in an average turn in order to do come out on top, and not drawing into your damage gives them a free turn to fully heal. This fight in A20 is unironically harder than a vanilla boss fight in A15.

3. Certain abilities lead to rock-paper-scissors match up tables. Hornet, an Act 1 boss, will go into a defensive stance after taking some hp. She deals high damage, which increases by 2x the damage taken in that stance. a) If you don't draw a block, you're completely screwed. b) Having even 20+ poison on her will make her attack for upwards of 60 damage. There is no coming back from that considering the rest of the fight is already a losing battle. What makes this even worse is that poison is a pushed deck concept in the Hollow Knight paired mod.

4. Contrasted to my second point, some fights are way too easy. The final act 1 elite is at the level of some of the more balanced normal encounters. I've rather consistently been able to defeat the new act 3 bosses without even taking damage. This makes playing through the map feel way too rng dependent. Depending on the encounters, one can either breeze through the game or lose 90% of their hp to a single combat. After having played with this mod for quite a while, I found myself instantly abandoning the run if I saw I was against Hornet, while feeling secure in my future if it was False Knight instead.

The reason I write all this is because I really think this mod has great potential. It really is just too frustrating in the highs and lows of the average combat/event.

This mod seems to make the game crash on a specific part of the first map, but I can't tell what part is making it crash because its a ? point on the map and the most I see when I try to continue the run is a brief glimpse of dark mossy green, and then it crashes.

I've seen a lot of people comment about how a lot of enemies are overtuned and overall being difficult. I see that trust me, but I like how challenging it is compared to some of the base game fights. I've had successful runs and a lot of failed runs but the feeling it gave me when I won was great 'cause I've had time to come up with cool strategies with the Bug knight Character. And I really look forward to finally finding out what hides within the Dream Nail relic.:steamthumbsup:

Wow, a little over tuned. Can't remember the last time I dropped a run at the first act boss sub ascension 10 or less and Hornet just handed me my ass. 234 health pre-ascension with armor generation and repeatable thorns? Plus some pretty over tuned attacks for Act 1 with scaling damage? Lol, hell, I even had Mantis Mark and Hand of Greed upgraded and a cyclone strike with an upgraded The Last Stag. If the rest of the acts are this over tuned count me out. Great looking and put together mod other than that, but still gets a thumbs down from me. What the hell is Hornet like at ascension 19?

This mod is really challenging, sometimes in a good way, other times in a really bad way.

For example the "Hornet" and "Hollow Knight" boss fight, both have this scaling damage mechanic, but it isn't explained HOW the dmg scales whatsoever.
I was beating "Hollow Knight's" ass when his mechanic activates MID-ATTACK and suddenly he goes from blocking to dealing 6x13 dmg.......... Absolutely attrocious to be honest.

Good mod, very well put together, although I think some of the enemies leave a bit to be desired. Specifically, a lot of the elite mobs seem overtuned, they're just way too powerful early on, and things like the adaptive mushroom guy or the primal aspids are just straight up op without offering any way to beat their gimmick. The primal aspids specifically just seem to attack for 21 damage each turn and have 120ish health on ascension 0, and they're a normal enemy. Maybe give them the flying trait like the byrds in the base game, or reduce their health/damage.

i loved the idea of this mod and the you put the enemies patters, but the biggest flaw is how much hp and damage most enemies have. I was way too excited to play this and find out how you changed the endgame, but it feels like it's way too early to try it out. hopefully this mod will get some updates and it's going to be amazing
