VGP Gourmet can only make one flavor: chocolate. That's why use both.

1.5?
The Bard of Hearts 12 Jun, 2024 @ 1:54pm
I'm guessing this mod is no longer being maintained. Maybe we can get Mlie to do this one up for us all. :steamsad:
The Bard of Hearts 10 May, 2024 @ 12:36am
+1 for a 1.5 update

No mint choc chip ice cream? What is this heresy?!?
Doomchibi 22 Aug, 2023 @ 9:48pm
The mod Resource Dictionary will let you consolidate your sugar or other ingredients into one thing, meaning if you have more than one mod adding a resource you will be able to choose one to override the others. So if these recipes (or anything else, really) says it requires sugar, you can make sure you are going to have the "right" sugar. Back up your save if you are adding it mid game though so you don't end up deleting things accidentally.

After installing and removing this mod it appears to have completely broken sowing smokeleaf industry reborn planters.
The Dirty Mailman 24 Jul, 2023 @ 9:06am
@Epicrenegade this is probably due to VGP Vegetable garden. I am not sure if there is a compatability patch but the cane stalks and Sugarcane are not counted as the same thing
sanityscraps 26 Jun, 2023 @ 3:27am
Hi, I think this may be incompatible with the Deep Storage mod. I have plenty of the needed ingredients in deep storage containers, but the ice cream maker doesn't think they exist.
Epicrenegade 5 Jun, 2023 @ 4:13pm
so i have fresh sugar that iv harvested, but the ice cream maker says i am missing sugar, the sugar on the machine also has a differnt picture, is there a step to put sugar in bags that im missing?
Nefilol Seflll 29 May, 2023 @ 9:13pm
@YuukoRespecter: At the bottom of any item, object or creature's info panel(when clicking the I, of course) it says what the source, i.e. mod the respective thing is from.

For instance, of sugarcane is from the vanilla game, it'd say 'Core', if it was from this mod, it'd say 'Ice Cream'.
YuukoRespecter 29 May, 2023 @ 7:40pm
Is there any known mod or intent to merge this with the vanilla expanded that adds sugarcane to the game? I'm unsure if Vanilla has sugarcane by default.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 4 Feb, 2023 @ 9:05am
Why indeed? Wait you didn't mention if it added Ice Cream :)
Alyfox 23 Dec, 2022 @ 4:47pm
Why use both Ice Cream and Garden Gourmet? VGP adds tofu, polenta, cheese, pickled vegetables, salted meats, grilled cheese sandwiches, tacos........
TheGoofyOne  [author] 6 Oct, 2022 @ 6:03pm
Updated to 1.4
The Bard of Hearts 25 Aug, 2022 @ 12:02am
very cool dude. Thanks for all the cool updates and the hard work.

Kinetic Kimo 24 Aug, 2022 @ 8:14am
Oh I think you could definitely do that. Personally I like the inclusion of sugarcane and processing into sugar, but it might appeal to players who don't like mods adding new plantables or who just prefer light weight mods in general.

I'd think it would also be compatible with Seeds Please.
Mage 24 Aug, 2022 @ 6:46am
Name changed?
TheGoofyOne  [author] 24 Aug, 2022 @ 5:00am
Yeah after doing a littler reading Sorbet fit the bill better than a sherbert.

Again, great idea!

I was thinking about making Berry Sorbet a stand alone MOD using Corn for its syrup and berries for an even more vanilla capable treat for everyone without ice cream. Thoughts?
Kinetic Kimo 24 Aug, 2022 @ 12:36am
Cool, sounds great. ^_^

I was just thinking of a vanilla game counterpart to the orange, pineapple, etc. sherberts that you can make with the vegetable garden or VPE compatibility. I think Berry Sorbet works perfectly :)
TheGoofyOne  [author] 23 Aug, 2022 @ 7:20pm
Added Berry Sorbet with sugar and berries only. Update pushed. :)

Thanks for the idea KK
TheGoofyOne  [author] 23 Aug, 2022 @ 1:52pm
You guys are very welcome. So a berry sherbert in the base Ice Cream MOD without milk?

My thoughts - That's definitely doable. I like it as you can make it with just berries and air conditioning right? But, now that we think about it does it take milk to make sherberts in real life? This MOD does this now. Thinking this way i'd have to re-write all sherberts to use something besides milk. What to use? Double berries for the juice?
Kinetic Kimo 23 Aug, 2022 @ 11:27am
Awesome! Thank you so much, we really appreciate you spending time to work more on this mod, and I love the new changes. I'm also excited for added compatibility with vanilla plants expanded :)

I may be able to offer another suggestion if your interested, although the mod is looking excellent already. You could add a strawberry sherbert (or just berry sherbert) using strawberries and sugar to your base mod items. This would offer a non-milk-reliant option to your lineup and might appeal to players who aren't using any added plant mods. But it's just an idea - the mod is already great as is.
TheLastBulletBender 23 Aug, 2022 @ 10:37am
That was quick. It is going to make my desert pawns' life better. Good job.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 23 Aug, 2022 @ 9:28am
@TheLastBulletBender - Thanks for the idea!!

Implemented and updated for all to enjoy :)
TheGoofyOne  [author] 23 Aug, 2022 @ 8:19am
No, but that's an interesting idea and I'll look into it.
TheLastBulletBender 23 Aug, 2022 @ 6:44am
Does it increase heat tolerance in any way?
TheGoofyOne  [author] 23 Aug, 2022 @ 5:07am
Pricklypear and Bearberry Ice Creams? Why Yes!

@Roorocks821 - Since I was in the MOD's guts the last couple days, I decided to add Vanilla Plants Expanded Ice Creams also per your request.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 23 Aug, 2022 @ 5:04am
@The Bard of Hearts - And your better half ;) - You're very welcome.
The Bard of Hearts 22 Aug, 2022 @ 9:02pm
Thanks for the work and updates
TheGoofyOne  [author] 22 Aug, 2022 @ 5:28pm
Hello all. I made the necessary changes to do a couple of things.

First, with raw bad and ice cream in the fridge, your colonists will now eat the ice cream instead of the raw bad, even without a drug policy telling them to.

Second thing was all ice cream was changed to also be in the drug listing. They have no drug effects, but can be dosed now, if mood etc falls below or however you want to configure it.

Lastly, updated to use the new "RimCuisine 2.0 Core, Continued" as the original is not being updated in 1.3.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 18 Aug, 2022 @ 2:46pm
I just hack at code for myself for fun. When someone likes something I made I listen.

And I haven't used this MOD myself in some time, so I had no idea it was wonky. :)

And mine is definitely my better half, our families rock, etc.. I'm just the hard thing to smash stuff with ;)
The Bard of Hearts 18 Aug, 2022 @ 1:44pm
I have to say, A mod author who is willing to look into his mod and take in suggestions without feeling like his pride is under attack is a rare and awesome thing to behold. Points for you dude! :megamanshoot:
The Bard of Hearts 18 Aug, 2022 @ 1:43pm
(to the better half I'm sure)
Yes... very much so. :megamanjump::steamhearteyes:
TheGoofyOne  [author] 18 Aug, 2022 @ 1:33pm
Hello to the better half i'm sure. I'll take a peek yes. TYVM

Pampered, on the RIM? How could it be Simone? LOL
Kinetic Kimo 18 Aug, 2022 @ 12:11pm
Hi! I'm The Bard of Heart's wife, I've been keeping an eye on this thread as well. I haven't used the vanilla expanded cooking or brewing mods, but I know of another mod that adds some recreational food type items that also work like drugs.

It's Erin's Hot Drinks: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2520989125

I don't know if there's anything else you can learn from it, but I figured I'd toss that out there so you have another example from a different source. :)
K.V.K. 18 Aug, 2022 @ 11:35am
Glad I could help! This mod is very interesting, I am looking forward to integrate it into my main save where the main point is to see how much I can give my pawns a pampered and decadent life!
TheGoofyOne  [author] 18 Aug, 2022 @ 11:05am
TY Simone. I see you even mentioned that before now that I read over everything as of late.

TY all. I will work on this this weekend.
K.V.K. 18 Aug, 2022 @ 10:36am
There's also Vanilla Brewing Expanded that adds tea, coffe, lemonade and other drinks, both alcoholic and not, that work like drugs
K.V.K. 18 Aug, 2022 @ 10:31am
Vanilla Cooking Expanded has desserts (simple/fine/lavish/gourmet) that work exactly like that, if you want an example
TheGoofyOne  [author] 18 Aug, 2022 @ 9:32am
I just left raw meat and ice cream in the fridge and guess what they ate?

Yeah this needs addressed as I don't think it did that when I wrote it in 1.1.

With a little help of an example mod with a food item that can be daily administered, I can fix it much quicker.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 18 Aug, 2022 @ 9:10am
So now, what to do with it? I don't have any mods I use that introduce something like that, a non drug that can be managed for daily dose like drugs are now. If anyone has any example of a mod that does, let me know.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 18 Aug, 2022 @ 9:06am
I said It's not, as I had thought the same thing many moons ago and though I had implemented it honestly. I just ran the MOD and no, you can't assign it for a daily intake like a drug. I must have just wanted to do so, and never did. I apologize for what is now, a silly remark :)
The Bard of Hearts 17 Aug, 2022 @ 3:35pm
Me and my wife had the same idea as Simone_conte. Cause as it stands, they will never eat it ever unless told to do so. which is very micro-management for such a basic thing.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 17 Aug, 2022 @ 11:05am
It's not?
K.V.K. 17 Aug, 2022 @ 10:45am
To make it so that pawns consume ice cream more often and for recreational purposes, maybe it could be considered a drug rather than a food? Like the solution that Vanilla Cooking Expanded adopts: even though desserts aren't nutritious, but pawns still eat them to have fun, like they do with beer (assuming they're allowed by their drug policy)
