honestly her upgraded bind damage isn't as useful as the bonus dodge- partially bc it lets me lock down destructing automatons without risking them exploding, also bc I haven't seen her take more than 2 damage for a while. Plus, impact frame on her smg means she can do 4 or 5 subdue damage

Bruh, thank you for making this mod. I had the same amount of use before and it seemed like the move would have been a perfect thing to combo with pull and bind if it wasn't for the move endign your turn

@jazmatician one of the reasons I switched around a bunch of abilities of the characters, such as Zephyr's Pressure Point moved to Deputy in exchange for Parry so it's on the same level as Lockdown - making the choice between a defensiv and offensive ability, to ward against damage or to attack those who get close. Some trees are quite wonky in their ability distribution.

I wonder if the balance team ever played this game all the way through. This "ultimate" is weaker than the skill she gets as a cadet. I wonder if they are flipped and "bind" was supposed to be the ultimate or something.

I mean, that depends on your gun, but that's a fair point.

Does Bite end the turn, or can you use it and then also shoot?

@JimmyTheCannon But you could still just shoot the enemy, with a higher chance to hit, and an upgraded gun would do more damage.

Without having gotten to that point with Torque, the reason to use Bite instead of Bind is it doesn't lock Torque up and lets other teammates attack that enemy.

Is that *always* the best choice? No. But sometimes it is.

@pepoluan Free, like items but it removes the move-attack action so if you want to move and attack then that's still an action, 1 for the move, 0 for the attack.

I'm a bit confused; does this mod actually make the bite truly free (like grenades), or just costing 1 action point (like shooting with Reflex Grip)?

My bite to hit % is very low, did not succeed once in many try. my last try was at below 50%.
My first time playing with a max level torque.

@Crimson Flare No, if there were some sort of consensus as to what people want the balance to be I'd be happy to make another mod for a nerfed version of the bite but as it is people's opinions are all over the place and personally I'm happy enough with how it is.

If you want to alter the damage or cooldown, you can do so in:

@Anderson I really like this suggestion. A high damage attack that cannot miss and causes enemies to be poisoned but with a decent cooldown sounds good.

I mean, it IS Torque's "ultimate" skill...

I think best balance would be autohit that does, say, 8 damage with poison. And maybe 2 turn cooldown? Considering how OP some of the other abilities are (Puppeteer, Ghost, Faceoff), this seems like a useful tool in Torque's arsenal.

You can change the damage in the soldier skills .ini if you feel that 5 points is too much for a free action (I dropped the damage to 2 and gave it 1 point of shred)

Discovered an unintended side effect of making this a free action. To correct this I changed the targeting so you can't move and attack. You now have to manually use a blue move to get next to a target if you wish to move and attack with Vicious Bite

While I agree the skill is horrible vanilla, I think a better balance would be to make it always hit, not a free action. What you made is grossly overpowered, giving you a potential 10 points of dmg, poision and heavy cc in one turn.

Something really needed, it is funny how Torque's final ability is worse than simply shooting, and it somehow has a cooldown.

Either they forgot to tune it correctly, or it is this bad due to the rest of her kit being amazing.

I agree with the single charge school of thought, a free action on a recharge makes this waaay too op an an already powerful unit.

Seen a few people say it's a bit op for various reasons, so i figure, why not instead of it being a free action, make it so that you can get a free bind after using it like you can with tongue pull if it hits? That way, it becomes more viable to use, but still has some risk to using it.

I think if it was a single use free action it would be great, 5+2 damage is really powerful on a free action, and it's not like anyone used the ability before. Having it every 3 turns seems too powerful, plus it makes her "ultimate" fall in line with other ultimate's like Verge's.

Installed this mid-campaign and it caused frequent crashes, disabling it stopped the crashes.
Haven't tested with a fresh campaign yet

I think vicious bite is in an akward position. You can tongue-pull, spit and bind for a 10 damage burst+disable on a single target. I think adding the 5 damage from bite is way too op, but then again, you'd never use the bite otherwise.

I've found Verge's Smash ability useful for when I have an Aggressive target that can't be taken down with all my firepower but one I also need to not shoot/cast abilities during the breach. Saved my bacon a lot of times especially in the late game.
