I miss this mod. Added a certain flavor (no pun intended).
TheGoofyOne  [author] 3 Nov, 2022 @ 1:16pm
Absolutely. Let me know how it goes.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 19 Oct, 2022 @ 3:21pm
I'll be going through this MOD later to possibly update it for 1.4. But a mod for just the images? Like to replace the vanilla ones?
TheGoofyOne  [author] 15 Sep, 2022 @ 10:58am
TYVM. It's been some times since I used this MOD. I'll look into it soon.

Great mod but generates an error.

I solved it by deleting the textures for these meals, but i guess there can be a better solution.

Thanks a lot for your work!

I used this mod with ideology and when 3 or more meals are overlapped, the texture does not change and the food is present but the texture is not visible. I hope this error can be fixed. it's just
Haruhya 17 Oct, 2021 @ 6:58pm
Oh I like this.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 14 Sep, 2021 @ 7:46am
It is possible, but not on the immediate horizon. I'll peek at those mods though.
RaI3id_Doodles 13 Sep, 2021 @ 6:06pm
Love your mod! Realized in my latest play through that your mod doesn't support the food items from the two VGP mods, VGP More Veggies and VGP Gourmet Garden, is it possible to add them? Thanks

You rock!):knlcrown: thanks a ton
TheGoofyOne  [author] 21 Jul, 2021 @ 10:46am
Updated to 1.3

@созерцатель - I made the dried meat to be used to cook with also per your request :)
созерцатель 19 Jul, 2021 @ 3:23am
Love it, hope for update

That's very cool, thank you for your mod. It's simple, realistic and I have all the reasons to actually grow fruits, shrooms.. Love it. This mod replaced lots of other food mods in my modlist for now, I really think it should be much more popular.. And the only question I have is - would it be possible to change dried meat so I can cook meals with it? I used the mod "smoked meat" and it is possible there to eat smoked meat as a meal AND to use it in cooking as "raw" meat. It's quiet useful. When I need to preserve a lot of fresh meat with your mod I use your drying rack but with time lots of it spoils cause I always play tribal start and don't have a freezer for a long time. To have the opportunity to use it in meals would be just perfect. But I love it anyway, sorry for my English and thanks again.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 16 Apr, 2021 @ 2:20pm
I pulled the dried berries and meats out and made them a standalone mod.

TheGoofyOne  [author] 11 Apr, 2021 @ 8:13am
Yeah I get it... I don't always use it either. When i'm playing a hard play-through I don't use it because it makes the game a little harder, but the drying of berries and meats I could always use, so maybe I separate that part of the MOD out on its own...........
Killer Tamashi 10 Apr, 2021 @ 9:32pm
Honestly I'm not gonna be using this mod for the realism (although it DOES make sense, you can't just make lavish meals out of potatoes and rice..) but for the variety extended mod, that in combination with the other food mods I have will make this a nice addition.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 9 Feb, 2021 @ 9:43am
@Alfuken - I added Honey from Vikings :) When I tested honey specifically I couldn't use it in the desserts category as both MODs treat it as an animal product, so I put Honey in the Exotics category.
Alfuken 9 Feb, 2021 @ 3:21am
Ah, sorry, mixed VFE-M with VFE-V - Vikings https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2231295285
That one does have it's own honey.
Other than that - great work! I very much prefer these meals to VGP and Vanilla Expanded series :)
If I spot something weird, I'll report.

MOD and description updated
TheGoofyOne  [author] 8 Feb, 2021 @ 6:45pm
OK Alfuken - I saw your note earlier today and have been working on an update to include the mods you requested. I got them all working and was testing and found that chocolate and ambrosia aren't able to be used as a food item in recipes, and i'm not sure why yet. When you have time go over the MOD and its changes while I look into why I cant use those two items.

To keep insect jelly only as an exotic, we'll have to not use the animal product category, and use the individual items like I had to for the rest of the categories. So we now have meat raw, eggs unfertilized, and milk in the MEAT category of better and fine meals. For lavish and 4 course meals eggs and milk are their own category.

Honey is in VGP and not VFE Medieval so added to desserts/fruits category.
Alfuken 8 Feb, 2021 @ 4:53am
The only issue I've found is that 4 course meal got intersecting "insect jelly" in both categories "animal products" and "exotics".
Also, mod support would really, really be great to have. At least two most popular ones, VGP (Vegetable garden project) and VPE (vanilla plants expanded). Vanilla Expanded also adds a medieval faction, which in turn adds honey as a harvestable product. Which would fit nicely into "desserts" category.
Alfuken 7 Feb, 2021 @ 11:18am
Awesome, that was fast! :)
TheGoofyOne  [author] 7 Feb, 2021 @ 9:54am
@Alfuken - I've been thinking about this MOD here and there so your input is appreciated.

I pushed an update that is pretty much what you suggested using vanilla items.

Items you've suggested were added :)
InsectJelly
Chocolate
Ambrosia

Added Insect Jelly and Chocolate to the dessert category in fine meal.
Lavish meal is like Fine meal except meat and animal products were split and each required separately as requested.
4 Course Meal, the 5th category, was edited the most. Chocolate and Insect Jelly have been put into the exotics category along with ambrosia and fungus.
Added Culinary High for about 6 hours when having eaten the 4 course meal.
Affects Rest by -0.1 (10%) as your fat and full. :)
Affects Blood Filtration, Consciousness, and Moving by 15%, and Consciousness affects Manipulation Talking and Eating respectively.

Play with it for a bit and let me know what you think. Let me know if we missed any food consumables also.
When its good I'll re-write the description.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 7 Feb, 2021 @ 5:53am
Those are great suggestions, except for the ability to bring in non vanilla items. I had to re-categorize the vanilla plants a bit to separate them out so bringing in other MODs items would be challenging or impossible.

This MOD isn't very popular as it adds more complexity and I would say realism. :) Most MODs add a little OPness.

So let me see what I can do...
Alfuken 7 Feb, 2021 @ 5:24am
Can I have a few suggestions?

Accept all fruits to a section of berries/agave, accept SweetRoll if VGP (Vegetable Garden Project) is installed, so we can basically have a group called "dessert".

For lavish and 4-course I'd replace corn with eggs-or-milk. So we can have a progression in tiers like:
tier 1 - anything
tier 2 - meat (any "meat" category food) and any veggies (any "vegetarian" category food including fruits)
t3 - meat, veggies (any "vegetarian" category food *except* fruits), dessert (any "fruits", chocolate, honey, or insect jelly)
t4 - meat, veggies, animal products (eggs, milk, cheese if present, other animal products as well maybe?), dessert
t5 - meat, veggies, animal products, exotics (fungus/shrooms, honey, chocolate, insect jelly, ambrosia, wine), dessert

Also, how about adding a 10-15% manipulation, movement, consciousness buff to a top tier meal? To make it really worth the buck ;)

Thanks!
TheGoofyOne  [author] 13 Jan, 2021 @ 4:25pm
TY for the reminder. Done
Offutticus 13 Jan, 2021 @ 3:21pm
Will this be updated to 1.2? I'm trying to track down an error and looking into the unupdated mods.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 15 Jun, 2020 @ 4:17pm
Yeah I use a shroom mod that lets me plant them due to the same issues :)
Nishe 30 May, 2020 @ 11:47am
On some maps I think four course meals won't be craftable because fungus doesn't grow naturally in all biomes and you can't plant it. For example in my current tropical swamp play through, I've not seen fungus grow anywhere (though you'd think it should in that kind of biome of all kinds).
Green Arrow 29 May, 2020 @ 9:44pm
I would like to second Andbruu's comment. Could you release a minimal version without the extras and just the meal changes? Ive wanted this but ngl the graphics and clutter of drying stuff steer me away.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 6 May, 2020 @ 2:22pm
Everyone's ideas are completely doable with minimal modding knowledge. Hack at my code if you'd like. It's not that extensive of a mod compared to many others. Should be fun for ya.

But this MOD is what it is. Here on earth more complex or Lavish meals require more types of ingredients on the plate, not just more of one or two, this is the only idea behind this MOD, and to use the vanilla ingredients to accomplish it. :)
GADefence 6 May, 2020 @ 6:17am
You should go take a look at hardcore SK IIRC, they added some larger requirements for lavish meals - IIRC .2 nutrition of ingredients (cheese, polenta, etc), .3 nutrition of animal products (egg, milk, honey, etc), .6 of vegetarian and .6 of meats.
andbruu 6 May, 2020 @ 2:26am
HI. I very much like the idear, but would love a version with fewer changes to vanilla.
Would it be possible for you to create a simple version withoutout: drying, additional meals and custom grafiks?
Keeping simple and fine meals as in vanilla, but having lavish require meat + vegi + fruit/mushroom.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 5 May, 2020 @ 3:58pm
It's meant to use vanilla items only and to be more realistic than true vanilla, but I'm not sure how I can accomplish that using the vanilla items. :|
Frying_Dutchman 4 May, 2020 @ 10:19pm
Would it be possible to rework the nutrition requirements to be a combinations of vitamins, proteins, fats, sugars, and carbs? The way it is now, it's just very basic and not very realistic. If we ate corn mush for days we would get very sick.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 1 May, 2020 @ 2:54pm
This mod does not interact with those mods, its just for vanilla crops and meals.
Virusbomb 1 May, 2020 @ 10:46am
This looks great, would give a reason to have to grow lots of different crops instead of just 1 or 2 finally! But I was going to ask the same question as Leri. How does this interact with mods like VGP vegetable garden or rimcuisine which don't change the vanilla meals but do add a bunch of new crops?
Leri-Weill [FRA] 1 May, 2020 @ 6:33am
You mention specific ingredients for the meals, but does it work with modded vegetables or has it to be berries, corn and rice ? :)
