The gauntlet is very powerful, it should be unlocked with a masterwork weapon research.
Technically only thing it does is defining new item, skill and effect which if anyhing - should crash instantly as either of those is created and not during actual tactical gameplay.
I think that overall the game loses a lot of stability when any mods are enabled at this point.
Although i'm quite sure it won't apply retroactively to already existing gloves.
