@templarblak Yes you can only confederate factions of the same race.

@XX This mod (partial version) will prevent all factions including the player from confederating through diplomacy. It works for the player by making the AI never accept or demand confederation. However Norscan, greenskins and human-controlled Empire will still confederate via events.

The complete version should be used separately, and will prevent all confederations for all factions (human and AI).

The two mods mean that AI will no longer confederate by diplomacy, but only by special events or racial characteristics(like orcs)? But still nothing has changed for players?

So as far as I understand it, the Empire only confederates via dilemmas if the player is controlling them. If the Empire is AI then they use diplomacy like everyone else. I'm pretty sure the same thing applies to Brettonnia.

Just curious: I understand Greenskin and Norscan path of confederation represents an exception. But what about Bret technology path and the Empire dilemma path? Do they represent exceptions as well - or are those paths disabled?

Hey I am interested in this mod, but I would still want the AI of the races I don't play to confederate to have big factions and challenge in the end game.
Like I play Dark Elves, I don't want the other dark elves to be able to confederate but i'm fine with any other faction actually.
So do you think if I edit your mod and keep these lines (while deleting the rest or restoring it to default game values), it will work as intended ?

I love the work on your mod, this makes the late game super fun as the AI doesn't blob into one massive faction that has a few armies which when defeated causes a complete overrun scenario. Not to mention factions escaping your conquest by quickly confederating into a much larger force that you are not at war with. I'm giving a golden unicorn award for you efforts, keep it up!

Hey guys, I've made a new version of this mod which will completely prevent all confederations https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2280697427 but edits a few extra scripts slightly reducing the compatibility. I'll be maintaining this lite version alongside the complete version.

So the confederation cooldown is part of a vanilla script. That's pretty easy to edit in a mod to change the cooldown, but the mod will then be incompatible with other mods that edit the script. Another way to significantly slow down confederations is to make it much harder to get positive relations. For example, in my campaigns I make it so that all positive diplomatic modifiers not caused by events are halved. This makes it take much longer to get diplomatic deals with other factions.

I guess the easiest way to do that would be to put a cooldown on confederations, say 40-50 turns between when factions can confederate.

Hi. is it possible that you also make a mod that really slows down confederations? With this, smaller factions die 1 by 1, and game becomes a bit easier :p I still want AI to confederate when they get weaken.

Heyo thank you so much for making this mod, the constant AI confederations annoy me to no end, especially the dwarf ones. Every game by turn 50 half the dwarfs have merged into the blue order blob.

You need both mods. Unfortunately you cannot completely disable confederations when using recruit defeated legendary lords because that mod requires the use of confederations to work. This mod changes the AI so that they should never confederate using diplomacy. AI Norsca and Greenskins will still confederate when they defeat a faction leader and a human controlled Empire faction can still confederate via fealty.

Hi. I just want to clarify something. I need both this mod and recruit defeated legendary lords for this mod to work, right? And if I use both mods together, it will allow me to recruit defeated legendary lords and stop factions (even greenskins and norsca) from confederating, right?

Hi, does this make you unable to recruit Lords of the faction you killed off? I had no problem recruiting defeated faction Lords with Eltharion, since I didn't attack any HE. But I just killed off Manfred as Vlad, and I don't get the refugee dilemma.

@Lampros The Empire Ai does not use the dilemma system, they confederate using standard diplomacy, so they shouldn't confederate with this mod. If you're using the Recuit Defeated Legendary Lords mod, whether the AI can recruit defeated legendary lords depends on the mod settings. This mod doesn't change anything in that regards. I'd recommend using the Mod Configuration Tool mod on the workshop. That will allow you to customise the settings of certain mods when you begin a campaign.

@Dragon32 Yeah the fealty of factions is partly based on what % gain/loss chance they have per turn, also events.
