And override mod that changes the inheritance of the rock fron itemBase to maybe HouseNoDestruct could maybe fix it?

Hmmm I’m not sure then. all my mod does is attaches the vanilla particles to Invisible rocks that can’t be picked up. it’s possible the engine changed over the years and how it renders ‘item’ bases perhaps. Since the particle is a child of the rock.

Render distance was extended from default server values, and network bubble values are at default, I got the situation in screenshot where the SmokePoint would not render, but further in the background a helicrash smoke is seen, so that's why I'm confused

Ehh.. How come regular Heli crashes smokes and players-made campfires smokes show from kilometers around? Is that a setting that comes with this mod? I'm not sure to understand

That is to do with render distance set forth by the server thru the server.cfg it’s about render distance and network bubble.

After messing around a bit, I noticed that SmokePoints including the heli crashes smoke, all stops rendering and stop triggering past 200 meters of player presence, could this be fixed somehow in the code or on your side? Or is that for a purpose it is made that way?

Hi Mate, love this mod, so damn cool. Hey is there a way yet to make the flames cause damage to players and the smoke causes them to cough get watery eyes etc unless wearing mask? They would be great additions. Love ya work. Cheers...

@bobbles You can now add particles via the editor. In the editor search networkparticles. Place it down and you can choose which particle type it uses in the properties tab. Then just move it where you want it and save it in its own .dze file or inside of an existing edit as you would any other object.

I think its DZ editor chagnes not your mod, now you gotta select that mod when loading editor as well for it to load it in, like dependances - I can work with that!

Hi is the mod no longer compatible with DayzEditor? When I load a custom DZE that had them in they wont load up and it errors ?

this mod is pretty old and based on vanilia partilces. They will react just like any other particle the vanilla objects use such as heli wrecks, fires, and the likes

I added some smoke particles around the map. When I'm in the editor you can see them from far away. But when I load them onto a server, they wont start rendering until you are like <100m away. Is there a certain way to load them into the server so you can actually see the smoke from a distance? I made an editor file with them and thought they weren't working at first. So I added them to init.c and discovered I had to be close to them for them to render to see the smoke.

You unpack and learn all you want. No permission needed. Just don’t direct copy or repack. This is pretty simple and old stuff.

hi,

I checked again, if I add the smoke "ex. SmokePoint_2" from online tools (VPPA or COT), when the server is restarted, the smoke disappears. If I add it in a *.c file, when I load it, the server reports the error:

SCRIPT : [BUILDLOADER][INFO] BuildLoader v1.0
SCRIPT : [BUILDLOADER][ERROR-11] Object of type 'SmokePoint_2' is not a valid static object. Deleting...

Any help to solve the problem? It is a good mod and I would not like to remove it from my server. :)

Hi,

at least the smoke only works once. After the restart it never works again even if it is loaded again in the init.c file. I have also checked it in Offline mode and it has the same error.

I won’t be near a computer for a month. Have you never made custom areas on the map with extra buildings and what not? If so, just treat these class names as if they were buildings. 🤷‍♂️

If you are using a spawn helper in your init.c then they will be spawned again on restart. no need for types. just like placing custom buildings.

@[S.C.] Zedmag would it be possible to make a yellow smoke like the smoke from a yellow smoke grenade? im looking for colored smoke for a RP server to mark admin placed airdrops (loot drops) but non of the smoke grenades last long enough.

if you cant find the class names listed in the description, in the editor or in admin tools, it means they arnt looking for them for some reason. you can just place something else, save your changes, and in the script that produced with what ever tool youre using, replace the dummy item class name with any of the class names listed above..

Tells me that the mod isn’t loaded then. OR whatever admin tools you’re using arnt compatible. Test by placing a rock or something. Exporting. Then in your spawn helper in your init.c replace the rock class name with one of the particle class names.
